I'm currently I'm Hong Kong and the variety of china android phones with its super specs and cheap prices are calling out to me.
can anyone recommend a phone to buy? I have a Sony Xperia Z now and I just want a back up phone as well as a phone to flash and play around with.
can you folks suggest? I have no budget in mind yet, will check out recommendations and prices later today.

I actually had a mi2 that I bought from shenzhen which I lost. So I won't be buying that.
I will look at the i9500! Is this easy to flash, that is it has instructions for flashing? I am just a noob who is good at following instructions

If you looking to flash I would not get any of those clone knock off devices. Mostly as they so not have the hardware they claim they so and non have a good selection of roms to flash
Wayne Tech Nexus
Yeah the lesser known brands are mostly crappy but I don't mind getting a known brand yet not super high end like the new meizu and stuff

I just saw one in hong kong selling for us$650. Anyone has one? And how do you like it.
The only thing that is preventing me is the battery life... And of course the lack of large community support. I guess 2 things.

Will this device ever be available globally?
Also does it have NFC?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
Is it only available in Korea only?
I don't know whether there is a global launch. I saw it from a llace where they sell import goods. Nevertheless, $650, seems to be a reasonable price.
Pretty sure it'll works in hk and us.
This is like better than the galaxy nexus with better camera and memory expansion and hd screen. Man....

With my knowledge, I think it's not a global launch. The vendor might take it from Korea??
It would awesome if Sammy launch all over the world.
yes it worked in HK.. u can even get it cheaper than $650 through Chinese website. this phone is great but just too new and lack of discussions and roms.. most of the mods and themes came from korean community...
I dont know if i post in the right section.
but i know that many experts in android are in here.
QUESTION:
What brand & unit have good specification
internal memory,processor,audio & Camera.??

For getting it directly from Smart, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus would be your best option. I don't know if it would be different on your end, but by going to Google Play and getting the Gnexus from there unlocked, it would cost half as much. Sorry for the late reply.

Does Google Play still sell the GNex? I thought they pulled them off their site?
Best Android Phone bar non is Samsung GS3 or HTC One X. I heard a One X+ with fire-breathing, ear splitting quad-core and turbojets will be out in the fall.
They pulled it off for a week about a month ago, but its been back on since then.

Hi, I'm living in china at the moment and was thinking about getting a new phone. But by default, phones here are somewhat more expensive then they are in the US so I'm not sure yet whether I wanna dish out ~$700 just to get an S3...
Chinese brands are obviously much cheaper here and I have heard that brands like Huawei are really nice. But to be honest, I just don't trust them :T....
I was looking at the Xiaomi phones which are rapidly gaining popularity, and well, just the specs and the price of the phones got me extremely interested in them . On paper they seem to be extremely powerful, and here I can get the Xiaomi M1S for 1500¥ (~$240) or the new Mi-2 for 2000¥ ($320). I'm extremly tempted to get one, but alas, the only reviews and such I can find are in chinese (which I obviously do not understand :S).
So I ask you, citizens of XDA , if any of you have had experience in owning or even handling a xiaomi phone. How are they, pros & cons, should I get one?? Which one then?
Thank you!
Definately go for MI 2 or even Miezu Mx. Worth it. Don't have either but i 'd surely buy if i was in your place.

Thanks I guess...
but it's just that I'm not sure about the durability and handling of chinese products....that's why I wanted input from someone who has had hands on experience with the products
I'd buy one they can't be too bad if they come preloaded with miui
Why don't you get google translate to translate their reviews

I just sold my S3, what phone do you suggest? I was thinking of the Xperia T, but the S4 chip doesn't seem too great and I don't like the design, they don't sell the Nexus 4 here, the Note 2 looks good but it's too similar to the S3, the OneX+ seems to have bad battery life.

Everyone will have their own opinions and reasons. Only you can decide, so do just that.
The post has no real relevance here either, just try the XDA generic Android forums for a broader view than S3 users.
The S4 chip is awesome and way better than crapsynos 4, plus you get the benefit of a fully or next to almost full working CM10.1 experience. So go with an Xperia T.
Seeing as you are so picky, I would suggest the Nokia 1100. Maintenance free, loooooooong battery life.
But seriously, I would wait till the Xperia Z is released. Or S4.
Good luck with choosing a phone.

I could get the Asus Padfone 2 for the same price as the Note 2, but without the tablet. It looks nice, but not many people have it!
Where are you from? I'm sure you could import the N4?
I would pre-order Sony Xperia Z . It looks very good and premium, hardware is very good and Sony care about dev community.

definitely not the best phone right now, considering all the devices with 2GB of RAM and 1080p screens coming up
Go for xperia Z, will have almost same hardware as S4 or maybe better...should come out somewhere next month

Rumours are that Android 5.0 will come in May/June. Since Sony provides needed sources, I guess SGS4 users will wait longer for stable build than Xperia Z users..

I would go with the Xperia Z, I'm actually tempted to get one myself this time around, mainly because it water & dust proof, camera looks pretty decent aswell.

Main reason why I will most probably get Xperia Z is that Sony cares about dev community and provides needed sources. Also hardware is top and design very nice and premium, without cheap materials.
For me it is time to try other brands.
Right now i would like Sony Xperia Z.
If you can afford it just wait a month or so and get it, i'am sure you won't regret that decision.
is it available to buy yet? i read somewhere you aren't able to buy it yet and negrielectronics has it on pre-order but one website has it in stock apparently? probably fake? anyone have any info on this?

yes mate it is available to buy. however only pre order at the moment which i have already done. there are 2 versions as you may already know. the tegra 4 which is only supported for chinese networks and the snapdragon 800 version which supports international networks. there are a few sites that i know of that you can pre order. i pre ordered it from www.xiaomiworld.com but you can also get it from www.ibuygou.com.
be careful what site you buy it from as there are a lot of fake sites which send you fake phones. these 2 sites i have provided are the most trustable sites to use unless you live in china which therefore you could buy directly from xiaomi and at cheaper prices.
hope this helps
Im looking at buying one of these what are peoples experiences with these phones Xiaomi Mi1 Mi2 and so on

I have the mi2s millet phone extreme edition. It has the 13mp camera and 32gigs of storage.
Great device all around. Setting up miuiandroid on it was tough because the recovery sucks, but ive been using it on T-Mobile prepaid since July with no quality issues or anything.
Its a great device. I got it because i like having a smaller screen.
Regarding the mi3:
For the money, I got the nexus 5 instead of the mi3, only because the two devices are so similar, and the nexus 5 is cheaper for US customers. My nexus 5 will have miui eventually anyways.

Hi... Do you know if it works fine with the US gsm range? I'm Brazilian, and don't know if it will be ok here...
Yes it works fine on us gsm networks, in fact, it is capable of dual carrier hspa (42mbps) if your provider offers it.
