I've started a discussion topic about Samsung's new headache SysScope and System Status: Modified
Finally we think we've fixed the problem for now (until samsung comes up with something new)
What Tested/Reported :
"Device Status" in Settings should always remain "Normal"
"System Status" on Bootloader screen should always remain "Official" (Except "Flash Counter" and "Current Binary", they are bootloader related)
FOTA Firmware Update Check is working but we're not sure because there is no update
It's reported that AllShare is working
A CWM package made from N7100 XXDME1 firmware: SysScopeFix_n7100_XXDME1.zip
* the Apk files in the cwm package may not be compatible if you have a different device/firmware. Backup your rom first!
[For Developers]
You can take a look at the modified sources and commits.
All the info you need is on Github: https://github.com/sinancetinkaya/DeviceStatus
This is an open project. If you have anything to contribute, please feel free to join.

I'm gonna try it soon.
After flashing this MOD, I will not be needing TriangleAway?

No, you will need it to reset Flash Counter and Current Binary
System Status (Bootloader) should always remain "Official" (Not the Flash Counter and Current Binary)

Thanks go back to [email protected] for getting this idea going and putting it all up on github! Glad I could lend a hand
Now hopefully some folks that know a thing or two will come by and make it even better
This really needs more attention.
Edit: To make sure it will work on all Samsung firmware (for the usual status in settings) and all ROMs (for the download mode status), is it possible to make an Xposed mod? That would be helpful, because it won't need to be adapted to every ROM.

for the settings, it should be no problem since i coped with the settings's status by modding it months ago. no idea for the counter or status in the download mode though

As far as I've seen, with TA version 2.37, it does reset the download mode custom status if you're on the stock ROM/kernel/recovery. It doesn't with version 2.99.

i tried ta twice only and i gave up finally becoz the custom mode status in download mode is not a problem for me anymore, i mean i don care if it shows custom or not as long as i can reset/reflash the phone back to stock version for maintenance, just in case and touch wood.
although i had another idea to change to status in download mode but it is too risky and i don want to wait for 2 weeks again to get my phone's motherboard replaced (i hard bricked my note 1 before)
perhaps the op has brighter ideas to cope with it

I don't like to comment about the things (like this) that I don't know well.
To communicate with bootloader you need a kernel that has j4fs driver.
As long as I know Perseus kernel has that. And may be that's why on perseus kernel TA is able to reset it without a restart.
Somebody with a good linux kowledge can mount bootloader partition with a proper kernel like perseus and can see what ChainFire is changing.

IT IS WORKING!
I flashed it on Omega v16 and now i have status NORMAL!
Thank you and I wish you everything best in life man!!!
I have tested before with everything available so far including wiping and Triangle Away - every possible version and nothing worked! This WORKS!
Edit:
I just noticed that even though the download of apps from the Samsung store does not work yet but this does not bother me for now.

Yes, unfortunately Samsung has spent big efforts to mess up with our powerful Note2
They've put the same check routines into several APKs.
Honestly I have no intention/time to check all of them.
That's why we put the sources on github and wrote what we did.
Tell your rom developer about this, he can easily do the same thing to the other APKs that we've missed.
I just want only one thing from people: Please send your additional solutions(commits) to my github.
Two head is always better than one
@DaveBG
I couldn't find anything in SamsungApps.apk
Can you send the not working program's apk you've downloaded from the Samsung App Store?

I've installed this mod and I still have modified in device status in settings and the same in download mode plus I have flash count 1 in download mode even though I've reset flash counter in triangle away. BTW triangle away shows me flash counter 0, and system status normal but other options that I mentioned shows me modified. I'm using Adam kernel, Philz recovery and DMC3 firmware.

I didn't read the part about the exploding phone correctly or i would never have done it!
Startup was just the screen flashing bright yellow rapidly for about 30 seconds and then going dark. If you touched the screen or buttons then the display would activate and you can see it for a moment. I managed to get through the setup wizard to the main screen, the app drawer and access the rom manager app. Then rebooted into recovery from the home screen and restored my phone to cm7 1.9.
Amazing that i (on some level) had ics running on my phone Well done guys!
cmw was different too, it had a ***go back*** option at the bottom of each additional screen.
Exactly same here.
It have the *go back* button cuz is a cwm 5.2.7 based.
You must follow the guide correctly.

We do all appreciate the hard work though hyztname so keep at it
What i want is to play with some new features and show off to my friends but i suppose that's what beta is for

So, after installing this and realizing my hboot was incorrect, I attempted to reflash to the slimrom I had before. Now, I'm stuck in a boot loop. I believe it has to do with the sebaastin.zip. How do I undo what that zip changed?

What does it change it to? I know I can just try it, but with the things that don't work I'd rather just know what something will be changed to before I change it. I'm on Oxygen GB right now, but thinking of trying a 4.2 ROM.

Known TWRP issue ( and possible CWM ) attempting to preform a restore of TW4.3 may cause bootloop
Bugs
WiFi bug (see wifi patch section)
Signal bar does not show accurate signal (if any)
Possible root lost on first boot (see Root section)
WIFI PATCH FIX
Here's how to get Wifi working. Do this after installing the ROM. Thanks to seanzscreams for the fix and stvn1337 for posting the info. What this fix does is adds the paramaters needed for Wifi to work on TouchWiz 4.3 based ROMs while still allowing us to flash to other ROMs outside of the TouchWiz 4.3 stuff. Be forwarded that these steps do need to be followed pretty much dot on especially when it comes to apply the patch. Deviating on that part might cause some major issues including bricking your device. I will not be held liable if that were to happen or will XDA. You've been pretty well warned. Don't worry this is a pretty easy patch to apply so don't worry too much about it. Smile, eat a Kit Kat, and just do what I tell you. In no time you'll have working Wifi on this ROM.
FILES
4.3param_tz.zip - 690.83 KB
INSTRUCTONS
1 - Download Odin3 and the WiFi Fix files.
2 - Extract Odin3 and the WiFi Fix files. For the WiFi fix you just need to extract 4.3param_tz.zip so the 4.3param_tz.tar file is ready for us with Odin3.
3 - Download and install Samsung drivers if you don't have them already.
4 - Turn off Note 2. After turned off press Volume Down + Home Button + Power to boot into the bootloader.
5 - Plug Note 2 into PC with Odin3 running.
6 - Once your PC has detected and installed drivers your Note 2 should show up in Odin3.
7 - Load the Wifi fix file (should be named 4.3param_tz.tar) into the PDA option in Odin3.
8 - Hit the Start button. It'll only take seconds for the file to do its magic then your Note 2 will reboot into recovery.
9 - Reboot out of recovery.
10 - ????
11 - Wifi should work now!

13 - PROFIT!

@runandhide05 I am in the same boat as you I have everything working except data/signal.. I have ported from n7100 before but the process seems to be different in this case..4.3. I am still trying to get it corrected with different methods. Can you tell me what you have done so far so we can compare? I started with stock base 4.3 N7100.. Added our csc files, build.prop edits for cdma and a couple lib files and our modem. When I boot it boots fine.. In mobile networks I have option to select cdma/lte but still no signal.. We our missing something that i cant seem to find. Some files that we usually port over have been changed or are non existant in 4.3... and btw what kernel are you using I think this maybe the source of our problem..I can only seem to flash it and get it to boot with the 4.3 stock kernel and I am not skilled or have enough knowledge to know whether kernels have anything to do with lte capabilities.. I would assume so.. And if thats the case we will have to wait for the n7105 leak to get kernel source..

I'm dropping this in here for people to use as a base, I don't intend to support it but will add any fixes that people upload. It's a stock 4.4.4 twizz base with qmg support for note 4 apps. It's stable and everything seems to work but there are issues with the spen as I have only added spen libs and there are no spen options in settings, you can probably just drop n2 settings in but I haven't tried too busy working with the eteam.
Its a port of the s3 lte 4.4.4 official stock from here:
[I9300] [Touchwiz Android 4.4.4]
It works with both agni and devil kernel but devil is included. Please feel free to use it but it would be nice if credit was given as not being a developer I spent a lot of time on it.
I would like to thank @bsbachert and @Bajanman for their help

Thanks a lot, I downloaded the rom to my pc this afternoon from the very first link and now it's on my sdcard waiting for a test
I saw there should be some issues with spen detach sounds, but inside /system/media/audio/ui I seem to see no pen sounds, so I have just put them there by myself... Just a try before flashing.
I am looking forward to testing the new look and I will report my experience, though I suppose Dn3 4.4.2 will still be my daily rom for a while.
We're working with the eteam to port the n4 stuff, well they're porting it we're just getting it to work on our device. So hopefully we'll get a 4.4.4 base for dn3
I'll hold on to this spot...[emoji13]

http://http://forum.xda-developers....ck-rom-4-4-4-gt-i9305n-i9305nxxufni4-t2886807
It works with both agni and devil kernel but devil is included. Please feel free to use it but it would be nice if credit was given as not being a developer I spent a lot of time on it.
I would like to thank @bsbachert and @Bajanman for their help

I had trouble with settings constantly force closing so I couldn't complete setup.
Downloading now
I couldn't get it to boot on Philz or twrp
I got it to boot using the newest TWRP but couldn't get it beyond initial setup. Settings kept force closing on me.
I may try some amateur editing with this but I have far less experience than most anybody.
Thanks for posting this, Saw Doctor!

Can you flash this on T-Mobile note 2?
Sent from my GT-N7105 using XDA Premium HD app
When I tried on philz it said to update to the newest binary then rebooted and when i tried to flash it in trwp it said to os was installed
I did the same thing! Did a full wipe, flashed with TWRP and after flash I went to reboot and it said no OS installed. So I just flashed again dirty and it installed and booted fine into set-up! During set up the screen froze and just pulled battery and rebooted to continue setup! After setup I got a few more screen freezes and just pulled battery and it was fine after it settled for a while:thumbup: Seemed very smooth and fast. I had to restore back cause I didnt have much time to test, but will redownload and report back
Great base @sawdoctor! Thanks for your hard work and i hope you and e team come up with somthing sick! Cause DN5v2.2 is frickin awesome and has been my daily driver for a while now and rock solid

Thanks, I had no issues with the base I uploaded and neither did @Bajanman. I'll re upload another copy later incase it's a bad upload as I'd fixed all the fc issues. Just having issues with my own phone atm think my pit file is corrupt but then I don't think flashing as many zips as i have is ever going to do the phone any good

Sorry for OT, but is it intended by the team (or a teammember) to share a stable n7100 base also? Thx :fingers-crossed:
(Must admit, that my own efforts were not successful enough :crying

I can only tell you what I know, the eteam are concentrating thier efforts on updating dn3 to a 4.4.4 base and porting n4 features. It's not really my place to say what they have working and what they don't but I believe they have a stable base. I know what we have working on the n7105 and it is promising but there are a lot of bugs to iron out. The base I dropped I was using as a daily driver it's that stable
Just to share my experience:
- N7105, 4.1.2 booloader;
- all wipes but internal sd;
- with TWRP 2.6.31 (the one modified for 4.4.4) I got "no OS installed" so as other users have already reported;
- with the latest cwm, I was able to flash and get the rom booted, but I could not go beyond settings.
I have had neither the time to try any solution, nor to use adb for a log, because my backup to the extsd was corrupted and I was compelled to using odin with a rather damaged usb cable and it was very late (so I am now back to 4.1.2 and tbh battery life was really good) but I think that the issues could be related to the old bootloader, as I could see a very short lasting popup message referring to wifisettings.
Anyway, the rom boots even with the first shift kernel.
I will try again tonight and post a log, if adb and the usb cable are my friends
I will also try a dirty flash over 4.1.2, just to see what happens.
I have had the same results but dirty flashed a second time to get the rom to boot (but again, couldn't get beyond initial setup with settings force closes after a quick flash of wifi settings). I am on the AT&T NE5 4.4.2 bootloader for the SGH-I317 so I don't think it is exactly bootloader related.
Dirty flashing on top of a 4.1.2 build works flawlessly. Everything seems to work pretty nice, since I could skip settings, but the spen works only as a pointer and with the keyboard, while I cannot activate neither air command, nor use the pen to air scroll.
And in settings it is shown as 4.4.2, instead of 4.4.4, but it must be a typo.
I changed the SecSettings.apk and SecSettingsProvider.apk and got it to setup. But when trying to access settings after it setup would FC. Didnt really test it out because of that..
Here's a few screenshots..

You might need to update your recovery or reboot back into recovery after a wipe.
I used TWRP 2.8.0.1 and had no issues. Also, im using Tmo T889 with 4.1.2 Bootloader.
I just wrote this this morning and finished testing in my phone. All is working fantastic!
This mod is to bring back the Lens Flare Effect.
Here are just a few previews and the rest are viewed from the installer in the update coming soon.
AURORA
FIRESTORM
LIGHTNING
METEOR
STARGATE
SOLAR SYSTEM
I have included 11 different choices all installed via Aroma Installer from custom recovery of your choice (I used TWRP). This mod does require that your rom has "init.d" support as this does need a script called at every boot to work. AGAIN CALLS SCRIPT UPON EVERY REBOOT. The script depending on each phone should take longer than 30-45 seconds. Basically flash the mod reboot and the next time you turn on the phone the effect will be active.
DOWNLOAD FLARE_LOCKSCREENv1.1a
DOWNLOAD FLARE_LOCKSCREEN_v1
Instructions for installation -
*Make a NANDROID ALWAYS AND OFTEN when modding your system!
*ROM that supports init.d script
*download and check md5 is good
*reboot to recovery and flash the zip file
*pick the effect you want (sorry I don't have the previews for the installer set up yet)
*reboot and let the script work it's magic and by time you turn your phone back on a surprise will be waving at you.
*hit the thanks button
Changelog:
v1.1a
*added the files I forgot to put in to make this work for more people (sorry for anyone who tried the last version and failed)
v1.1
*now has preview option while in recovery
*attempt to make more compatible with variety of ROMs by adding sqlite3 to xbin. (hope this helps) needs testing, mine were successful
*now has 18 options
v1
*Initial release includes 11 choices
Any feedback? Just really want to know if this is working for people? Its hard for me to tell sometimes because I am always testing various mods! I get back as close to stock as I could remember, so I could get this to be compatible with all S5 variants. So please let me know. Remember unless your rom has init.d compatibility, this won't work!
screenshot please !!!!!
Screen shots or a video will be very helpful.

Thank you for the input. I am finding that only 75% of the various roms options available are reading and executing the script properly. Some are failing because of no sqlite3 in xbin. I'm looking further into the this.
It can be manually set using a sqlite editor and changing the value for "lockscreen ripple effect=2" in the data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases/settings.db
@stangdriver44 can you make it Mobile Odin Pro OTA/update flashable??? That way it wont trip knox and wont require custom recovery

it's not possible with the use of Aroma Installer due the fact of the User Interface during installation in recovery. If you know which option you want I can take a look at getting something for you. You will have to decide which Style as you will be updating the system with only one option.

I wasn't aware of that. Do you have a link? I would like to check that out. Have you tried flashing this with mobile odin pro? I can't say that I've ever tried so I wouldn't know. I will probably just do that now. I'll let you know. Thanks

Check the OP. Posted an update with an attempt to make this work for more people. Let me know. FYI the size has grown so a lot because it now has preview option in recovery.
Let me know if it works for you. My tests on different ROMs were successful
