what does this mean? and how to fix this?
this resulted on failure to restore a nand backup, failure to wipe dalvik cache and failure to factory reset in recovery. how to fix this??
Are you using an older version on JB hboot? Try the last ones, they are fixed now. Otherwise make sure you downloaded the right one for your hboot

You need a jb recovery if you have a jb hboot. if you have a ics hboot, you need a ics recovery.
You cannot change your hboot yourself. When you buy the phone, you have ics hboot. As soon as you update to jb through the official htc update, you get a jb hboot and you are stuck with that. You can't downgrade to ics hboot. This does not mean that you cannot downgrade to ics (OS) but the recovery you need will always be a jb recovery if you updated to jb, no matter what OS you want to install.
Hope this helps.

Yes
Just use the recovery from here to fix the problem, Cause you are on JB Hboot and needs a compatible Recovery.

I don´t can flash new roms, the instalation is after 5sec over.
The only way is back is to the stock-rom with RUU.

i have tried the PG86IMG.zip from different sources

How are you flashing the radio? Have you followed the instructions from mdeejays threads? There have been some reports that flashing the radio wipes recovery and you will need to reinstall it. Try searching mdeejays ICS threads as well. I'm s-on so haven't flashed radio, ICS still works for me.

I suggest you flash back your original firmware ( if you still know it, check here ) then just install the ics rom you like. If you encounter any signal issues then you will probably need to flash the ics radio firmware otherwise there is no need for it.
By the way, make sure you post your questions in the general section next time as a lot of members here will flame you for posting in the wrong section.
thanks for your answears.
I flash the firmware from the Bootloader.
Reinstall the recovery have i tried too.

I try next to install without the Firmware.

I havent had any luck installing cyanogenmod ics roms, it either doesnt let me past the splashscreen or starts to boot, then the boot animation freezes. However the phone runs sense ics roms just fine. using ext4 recovery, hboot 1.58, s on
You can't flash the CM Roms with that hboot. It will always bootloop. I recommend getting s-off so you can downgrade your hboot.

I believe you have to wipe all the data when it tried installing CM9 without wiping data from my previous sense rom it got stuck in the boot animation ( Boot loop ) But if that wont work it probably is because your S-ON even though its strange when i was S-ON i could run CM9 perfectly but go S-OFF it takes some hard work and time but its very rewarding later

The problem is the stock ROM uses the new kernel which requires hboot 1.58. Flash a custom ROM that uses the VM leak kernel. Try MeanROM, Homebrew, d3rp, and / or ZR3dX. That will get your phone booting (hopefully), then go from there.

The way I see it, bootloops of the kind can have a couple causes:
Ur S-on and/or your hboot is too high
you didn't clear cache/dalvik/data
your kernel and hboot don't agree with eachother
solution:
Htcdev to get S-off
downgrade hboot
install custom recovery (if not alrdy present)
install custom rom
So Sprint finally said there was a system update to ICS so I downloaded it and installed and it instantly popped up an error, didn't have any words it was just a picture of the guy with the warning sign. So I waited and it never did anything. I figured I would clear everything/factory reset and see if that fixed it. Nope. Even moreso, it wouldn't let me install any other ROM either. I did enough superwipes and stuff that I finally got the stock ROM to work so I'm back where I started.. One clue might be that I cannot seem to clear the sd-ext, it gives me an error there.
With it back in working order, if I don't clear anything and just try and install ICS from bootloader, what I show in the pic is what happens.
The last part about the E:error in sd card is what I was getting when all the other ROM's were screwing up.
Maybe bad sdcard

I don't see how when it works fine now. It's like something is messing with it but I have no clue what.
Re-lock your device and apply the update again.
Just do a fastboot command "fastboot oem lock".

Anyway, DO NOT TAKE AN OTA!
I am not the greatest with these things. You are saying I need to unroot my phone for this to work? And I need to somehow get rid of the revolutionary recovery thing? I don't know what OTA means but I can see it's part of the file name. Is there a non-OTA version of it that I can use? For some reason a lot of ROM's don't work. I have hboot 1.5 with s-on and cynogenmod and a lot of ICS ROM's just hang on the HTC screen.

You don't need to unroot, but you need to lock your bootloader and get the stock recovery back to take the OTA. The easiest way to upgrade to ICS without doing all that is to flash the new firmware, then flash a stock rooted rom if you want to stay on the stock rom.

Upgrade firmware through bootloader, then flash a stock rooted rom or a custom rom based on ICS. If you want to use the new kernel, you will have to upgrade hboot as well, or you can keep your current hboot and use the VM leak kernel.

You need to be S-off in order to flash an ICS ROM, unless you use 4EXT smart flash, which isn't guaranteed to work.

Frank....I think the issue is you probably installed the wrong rom version....This is very important that you install the correct rom for Evo 3d GSM or CDMA version or you would get Bootloop...I would suggest you install this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1991150
and make sure you use 4EXT latest version, S-Off, Unlocked...
This rom is Viper3d Sense 4.1 and the most stable and fast ICS rom so far for GSM and CDMA......Since you have S-off and unlocked...you dont have to flash the boot.img separately....just copy the rom files to Sdcard then follow my instruction:
1)Do a full wipe (Wipe data/reset factory, Wipe cach+davik, Format partrition [without Sdcard])
2)Install from zip card,,,then choose the rom....
3)Reboot...it should work great if you do as i said.....
Furthermore....i would recommend you install Anthrax kernel....i dont know if the forum is allow me to send the link here.....??

I had this issue. If every Rom you flash bootloops, you may want to run the ruu.exe to reset your phone (you'll still be s-off). Hopefully this will get your phone booting. Then flash a custom hboot (I use 1.4 revolutionary) and then custom recovery (I use 4ext). You should be able to flash anything at that point (except a select few roms).
You can get the ruu.exe and other files from the thread I linked earlier.

I'm confused right now.
It says he's from Europe, which usually uses GSM.
-shrugs-
Well, all I have to add is if you're flashing the kernel right away, don't set the overclock value to high, that's what causes bootloops/hangs.
Set your max cpu to stock (1188 MHz) for now. Then once it boots, overclock. I find that anything fast 15XX MHz causes bootloops with new versions of kernels.
I bought it from ebay becouse it was so much cheaper (I know europe is gsm only)

Child's play, do you mind testing on the CL. I would but my computer is out of commission as of now. Getting together with my Tech instructor to see if we can fix it. Until then, I probably won't be able to help much dev testing. Aside from suggestions and what not.

I've downgraded my zara_ul just by flashing firewater hboot before running the ruu. All while s-off and bootloader unlocked. It'll bootloop once downgraded to jb due to it's hcheck not liking s-off and the unlocked bootloader at the same time but that's besides the point.
That's great. Basically just lock boot loader and you should be fine. We need someone to test on the CL now. Again, I apologize for my inability.
