xperia sd card fix remount sd as internal

here i have a fix for xperia phones that are not allowing the users to use there sd card correctly.for this fix you need to have root
before attempting this i advise you do the following as i hold NO responsibilty
1. backup any files that require modification
2. make a full backup.zip and move this from sd to pc
3.backup all of your apps from internal memory so that after the change you can restore all app data to the "new" internal storage
assuming you have root and follow above
use any root explorer to browse to system/etc
find vold.fstab and rename to .bak
download vold.fstab for your device
transfer to phone (internal or sd)
use root explorer to copy file from (where you placed it ) to system/etc
reboot phone
recover all app data
now sd card should be working fully as internal storage
if you require a fix for the phones not here please send me vold.fstab and i will modify the file
Please note these files for the moment are for stock ICS
changelog
28/11/2012
added xperia j
8/12/2012
replaced xperia go file
21/12/2012
added xperia sx (untested please give feedback)
I think u must change the permission of the copied file to rw-r-r.... Is it not necessary....???
cant use sd card as MSC connectivity... Works only MTP connectivity...???
It is like swapping internal memory to External memory and vice verse rite...??
Sorry for question , but I don't really understand what it need to fix? Could u explain?

when using the sd card on the xpeira go the sd card wont be used for apps as standered all apps and app data are sent to the inernal
memory and not to your sd card this means when you have filled your small internal memory (4gb) no more apps games can be downloaded if you find that this is the case you can use is this to swap your sd card and internal memory around so that if u have a 32gb sd card like i do you can use this to store all the information on your phone (as you hope to be able to do with your sd card )

You can try in settings to click in app "move to sdcard" and copy file to right folder in sdcard, but i don't promise it will help .
If that don't work you will need modded apk (changed destination folder), but its hard to get it...

[Guide][Trick]Link folders from external SD to internal SD card

Here is a way to link folders from external sd to internal.
This is usefully for stock ROMs which have sd card emulation enabled
With this trick you can for example link Download folder from external sd and all downloads will go to external sd automatically.
Or for example you can link Android/obb folder if you have large games.
This should also work for non rooted phones(I think)
Steps:
1. Pick folder on you external sd which you want to link to internal sd.
2. Now create folder with same name in you internal sd. Its fine if it already exists
3. Download and install Android Tuner(free version will not work, sorry)
4. Open System Mgr >> SD
5. Now click on "New link"
6. Select folder you created in step 2
7. You might get a warning dialog saying that this link might not work, just ignore it.
This is tested on stock Rom Android 4.1.2. It may not work on other Android versions
8. Now select parent directory of a folder you selected in step 6.
For example if you are linking folder Android/obb, first you would select folder in internal sd
Code:
/storage/sdcard0/Android/obb
And then his paren in external SD
Code:
/storage/sdcard0/Android
9. That's all. To test just open folder you linked from internal sd and you'll see content of external sd folder.
I have Asphalt Airborn and Dungeon Hunter 4 installed and working (more than 2GB of sd data)
Enjoy

Nice. I am going to try
I've just DL Android Tuner (free version) I don't see new link button under system manger, sd. My phone is stock no root no bootloader unlocked. Do you think it's only available in paid version? So confused caused I've always wanted to move app's since I had this phone.

Yep, looks like it's pro version only, sorry.

No, its not only the pro version and i have the free one and i saw "NEW LINK." I didnt see it the first time but after about 5 min and i returned to the app i saw it..weird btw i followed all your instruction on point and it still does not work.
Thank you! The fist app, which work perfect!
And if i copy the data folder to ext. SD, automatically make this folder for internal sd! :good:

Did you use the free version, or the pro version? What phone model (P760/765/768/769) and what ROM?
You can also use Folder Mount app which works much better.

Good show friend it's working fine, as you know I was looking for some good app to move obb files to sd card but this one is absolutely brilliant
Can you tell me one thing that whether I have to move my obb files to sd card in such a way or i can paste obb directly to external sd?
Sent from my LG-P765 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Hi,
This is working great for me
Although "ROOT IS NECESSARY" because the "New Link" does not appear unless you have root enabled in Android Tuner
Works with the Free version of the app also as far as the device is rooted
Thanks,
Rajesh
Hi,
I've tried other method using a script, but I think it just renaming the InternalSD to ExternalSD (and vice-versa), and 'fool' the phone. The actual downloaded files/games still go to the real Internal SD (the phone's 4GB). Even though I have 11GB free space on ExternalSD, I can't even download a 40MB game.
I haven't tried your method above but tell me, after I do those steps, will I be able to download large apps/games directly to (linked) ExternalSD? Any games? Even those without .obb files?
P765 stock JB 4.1.2, rooted.

It does not, as Folder Mount does not allow to link a whole content of obb directory (just specific folders inside). The Android Tuner however seems to be working fine, Thanks a lot!
EDIT: However, still can't download Modern Combat 4, as phone reports about 1 GB of free storage (the actual, linked storage is much larger, but I don't know how to "make" phone think it is).
EDIT2: OK, I took leap of faith and linked ALL content of sdcard0 to externalSD (sdcard0 is located on ExternalSD/sdcard0) and, well, it worked - it made think the phone that externalSD is sdcard0, effectively switching internal and external SD (I have 16 GB external microsd and now phone reports it has about 15 GB of free INTERNAL storage).
Hope it lasts.

Ways of Accessing SD CARD Data Without Rooting.(in warranty)

Due to Google's Android kitkat restrictions desire 816 users can't modify sd card data . There are some ways like sd fix , modifying platform.xml files etc but all these requires rooting of ur phone , which obviously void ur warranty .
This topic is discussing ways to edit sd card data without rooting so that users who are not opting for root also ACCESS SD CARD DATA .
FIRST ::
1. For FOLDERS Only :-- use the FILE MANAGER which is in Polaris office app . It can only DELETE, COPY ,RENAME the docs file or any FOLDER (Not All Files).
2. Use " SOLID EXPLORER " App from Google play store . It can copy any file from ur internal memory to sd card (external memory). . Though renaming and deleting is not available now ..
If u know any more ways to access data , let us know . ..
Hit [email protected] If Ï deserve It .
Sent from my HTC desire 816.
Another way .. ( for deleting files ) thanks to DRIODTON for his idea..
3. Go to SETTING - STORAGE - (SD CARD) - Make More Space - and delete the file u want ..In GALLERY u Will find all pics and videos & in MISCELLANEOUS u can delete any file with FOLDER tickets option .

Solid Explorer can not copy from internal storage to sd card, I just tried it and it doesn't work.
I used it and it is working fine .. what's ur software number ?? Here is mine, cross check it as I m still able to copy files from internal to sd card

Hmm, I have a different software. Wonder if it used to work but HTC patched it in the software I have which seems to be more recent than the one you have. ?
Any workaround to move/copy files?
No bro .. u have to root only for that

Yes it helps
Install root then install busy box then install xposed then there is many mods inside xposed to enable accessing ext storage
I use this way write now
like this one for rooted devices.

[Q]Move heavy games like FIFA 14 to sdcard1

Hello guyz
I took the apk and obb file of FIFA 14 from my friend. Firstly I installed the apk and then placed the obb file in sdcard1(ext sdcard)/android/obb and opened the game the game said no resources found, then I copied data to sdcard0/android /obb and reinstalled apk and the game worked, I moved it to sdcard from settings/apps but after moving it to sdcard also the internal memory shows 450 mb free while it was 1.7 GB free before installing. So can anyone tell how can I move whole game to sdcard1 so I can install more games like asphalt and move them also to sdcard1
