Hello all!
I just purchased the SGS3 i9300. I get it from the official dealer in my country. They installed a screen protector, but after that white color not perfectly visible. It shows small dots on the screen. But other colors are visible without any issue. Is it a normal or should I purchase another protector? Without this screen protector, white color visible perfectly.
Thanks!
Is it a matte finish screen guard? If yes then you have no need to worry
Nokia 2110-->Sony Ericsson k750i -->Nokia 5233 --> Samsung Galaxy R(GT-i9103)--> Samsung Galaxy S3
yes as mentioned, if that is a matte screen guard, you don't have to worry because that is it's behavior.

Matte screen guards are the best that I have used. Had it since the day I got my S3 and it works pretty well.

Well matte guards are not glossy or shiny....if you have a guard which isn't shining for the light...its probably matte....while matte is better....if you really want to get rid of the issue i suggest to paste a glossy screen protector hope this helped

I have never used screen protectors. That is because, I don't need one, I take care of my phone(it hasn't fallen...yet xD).
I never wear the phone in the same pocket with coins, keys etc. No scratches on the phone at all.
Can't thank you enough in one day ( only 8 thanks per day ) .... thanks for replying to my every query..
Well screenguards are all a matter of personal preference. I ALWAYS have used and will be using screen guards. Mostly because the active has the strap that has an aluminium "lock"? on it, and it so happens to be going on the screen over and over again, resulting to scratching it. Even though the Active has Dragontrail glass, which is said to be much stronger than Gorrila, i just cant bare to see a single scratch on the screen

Nope, it is not gorilla glass. It is shatterproof mineral glass with (apparently) scratchproof layer. Apparently, not sure how scratchproof it is.
I do not have any scratches on my LWW, but it is because I take care of my phone. I haven't tested, if it really is scratchproof, neither am I going to test it.

How can scratches appear during playing games?
as long as they didn't say that the screen is 'scratch proof' i will always put screen guard
I have dropped my phone twice (accidentally of course) around 3ft high. No scratch so far, also it use to stay on my pocket together with coins and key. So far smooth screen and back cover. But since it easily caught smudge from frequent texting; I installed matted screen protector.

It is said to be scratchproof mineral glass.
Tried with paperclip on my LWW, nothing appeared. No protectors at all.

There is no special screenguard for this phone, buy a regular one, which is large enough and cut it to smaller, so it would fit the LWW.
well i have one that is specially for LWW, just search the internet
actually iI went to the store and they told me that it will arrive on saturday. that means there is screen guard that fits to lww
Try it and let me know many scratch ypu can put in it

OUCH!!!
Bet he won't do that again
One question though:
Is this with, or without the shatterproof protector that was pre-installed?
If it was on, I'm curious how the non-screened ones will hold up.

its with the stock screen protector. Dont know if its shatterproof
I guess its only shatter-resistant then.
Did he happen to drop it off a tall building? That's some bad damage D:.

The stock screen protector's job is to hold the pieces of the broken screen underneath so nobody gets hurt!
your friend removed stock screen protector?
Bad luck, i've been in a motorcycle accident with the phone in my pocket and it came out unharmed.

Put Screen protector provide in the box on your phone.
After that,
you can play football with it .
It comes with a screen protector? The Rogers one doesn't. Those cheap bastards!
Damn where did he drop it ?
Since it has like 2/3 dents (points of impact)
Looks like it dropped with the screen down on a pebble stone path

How can I tell if there's a screen protector pre-installed? The Sony store told me there isn't one. When I had the X10 and Arc they both had pre-installed screen protectors.
I just got another Rogers one. The first one I had there was an issue with the home screen. I have yet to test out the screen to see if I have the yellow tint issue. I will play some games and heat up the device and look out for it.
Is there an app that looks for dead pixels or the yellow tint issue?
Thanks

If he changes the screen to a blue one, and buys the blue back cover then... BAM! color changed.
I understand the question and... I would guess you can do this as the screen is glued and the back cover has no screws.
To show you how hard it is to change to front screen here is a video.

If this is the same story like with the galaxy s1, then I can say, yes you can
Your screen is cracked, so just buy a blue one, dissamble your phone and change the white parts with blue actually, if I would break my phone, I would make it grey or red ;D
So good luck mate, it isnt that difficult. I could change the screen of an iphone 4s almost without a tutorial at the first time, and this **** is really ****ed up inside. I hope, the s3 isnt build up that complicated

You can't without breaking it.
If you're replacing the housing, you need to replace the glass too.

I know this is a wee bit of thread necromancy, but I've separated the glass and digitizer on many devices without breaking it. Grab a good heat gun, something a little more powerful than a blow dryer, and heat the glass without staying in one place too long so you don't burn anything. The glue will loosen. Use a screen prying tool and slowly remove the glass starting at the edges, nice and evenly. Keep reapplying heat and inching the glass off.
Don't try to half ass it. Use the right tools and go slow.

also for me is not so bad. i initially bought 2 phones, the white and the black and had them both in my hand and didn't notice any difference on the material. i kept the white and didn't slip not once so far. and for the last month i have been using a silicone case and it's even better

I've used some nail file, it's not perfect, but not bad either. Now to find some good plastic paint...perhaps some bronze nuance, I'm not so fond of golden...
