Sorry m8, I was out for a while. I'm nfcec from Sony forums I've a Kingston 128Gb SDXC and what I can tell you is that the XTS already burned 2 cards. After 2 months they just stop working (but they worked nevertheless for that amount of time). This last time the tablet froze and when it rebooted itself the card wasn't recognized (not even on the laptop). Thankfully, Kingston is much more serious than Sony on support and they are replacing the card for the second time but they already have some doubts about the compatility of the device (Sony scores again). So, I don't know if what is going on with you is the same as with me. The card works on other devices?
P.S.: ICS 4.0.3 6b from mid-December was the update that made it possible the support for SDXC (64 gb and 128 gb) cards.

Same here. exFAT should work but NTFS isn't compatible. Try to format it with the SDFormatter 4.0 (official SD card formatter, google it) with eXFAT and see if it works. If it doesn't, try to format it with FAT32. The only disadvantage is that you can't put files bigger than 4gb with FAT32 format but the card should work as this type as always been supported.
thank you for your tip, i will try one of these days, for the moment i don't want to use this ****ing tablet, when i use it i have pain on my heart cause i pay 400€ + accessories for a half working tablet.

Just a quick question, when you install a new microsd, do you factory restore your phone or you can just copy everything from the old to new? Because I'm having problems when I installed a new microSD, my phone restarts frantically whenever I mount/unmount when I'm connected to a pc

Maybe it's better to format the card from your phone, then copy the content of your old SD card.
I asked se support and waiting for answer
I formatted my new card with normal pc formatting tool, put it into phone and it ran no problem.. I didnt have any app installed to card or anything so it was just photos music and stuff aplications create there..
I'm happy with the 8Gb card, for a phone that small.

but i tryed to formate it in phone couple times, with no luck.. then i tried to formate with my default formate tool on my xp pc. formatet it to FAT32. only option i had. FAT32 or exFAT..
after formate with pc i set it in the phone again. and it said its damaged twice then miraculously it mounted it. :O.
i mounted the phone with usb cable and copied everything from old card to it. (Old card 2 Gigs)
apperently it seems to work.. i tryed also to reboot and it mounted the 32GB Sandisk MicroSD HC card..

Mine certainly does. Kingston 32GB class 10 works like a charm.
x10 mini pro (u20): 16gb
mini pro (sk17): 32gb
They deleted X10 mini pro page, it did said 32 gb for it, stop saying that it's 16 gb only.
when i inserted 32gb in mini pro it worked very very hard.but 16gb is very very good.
Hello all!
I'm not able to post in the development forum (since I'm a noob with less than 10 posts ).
I just moved from the 182 CM7 Nightly on my Vibrant to the Passion ICS v10.
Everything is running pretty darn smooth and thing I thought i'd be missing from CM7 are not really bothering me.
The issue I'm having is with my 8GB external SD card. I'm getting the standard SD Card is empty of has an unrecognizable filesys.
1. I've tried formatting through Storage menu, recovery menu, blackberry and an adapter.
2. I've tried all the tricks on the forums.
The build is not recognizing the card for some reason. I plug the card into my Blackberry and its fine.
I took the 2GB card from the blackberry and put it in the vibrant and it immediately recognized it and mounted w/o a hitch.
Is there a size issue/bug w/ the external SD?
Have you tried taking the SD card and plugging it into your computer, and then formatting it from there?
EDIT: I just tried it with my 8GB microSD card. It looks like mine's not being recognized either.
I'm not running ICS, but maybe it just doesn't support that much on an SD? Just throwing out ideas and maybes.
That would be really silly. Not supporting 8GB SD card .
Kept trying a few more tricks. Still have the same issue.
Also, when I added the 2GB the internal unmounted. Have to go in and manually mount the internal after external mounts (just the first time).
This is a just a heads up.

Omg yes i have the same issue, but ive looked into it some more..
I have 2 128mb, a 2gb (that came with the phone) and a 4gb and 8gb sdhc of the same brand... the 8gb and one of the 128mb dont get seen (and the 128s are identical) ive tried formatting in fat16 and fat 32 and ntfs and even mac os x journaled lol and nothing worked... i then returned to cm7 and formatted from there... went back to ics passion v9.2 and then v10 and cm9 and ssame exact symptoms... so idk.. its not because of sdHC, it doesnt sseem to be filesystem and the 128mb thing just really blows my mind..
Hope we get an answer

Obviously this question is turning to be a bug. There is confirmation from several users with the same problem.
I have a 4Gb micro sd Patriot and seems to be OK.
You have to look into emmc folder.
Wow , thanks for the awesome pointers that I should look into EMMC folder (sarcasm btw).
The bug is about the SD CARD NOT BEING MOUNTED and reporting as blank and having a non-supported filesystem.
The card in question works fine on the PC and 2 other phones one of the Vibrant with stock ROM.
I only want to help.
I understand your point but we want to exclude options. Can you try another SD cards in this same phone?

During the launch presentation it was mentioned that the Galaxy S3 will support MicroSDXC cards with capacity up to 64GB and an exFAT file structure.
However, the manual released on Samsung's UK website states otherwise...
http://www.samsung.com/uk/support/model/GT-I9300ZKABTU-downloads?isManualDownload=true#
Code:
Your device accepts microSD™ or microSDHC™ memory
cards with maximum capacities of 32 GB (depending on the
memory card manufacturer and type).
Code:
Your device supports only the FAT file structure for
memory cards. If you insert a memory card formatted
with a different file structure, your device will ask you
to reformat the memory card.
The manual is from this month (05/2012), Rev. 01
I asked Samsung, but they weren't able to give me an answer.
So, what's the deal?
Nothing is the deal, MicroSDHC and MicroSD"XC" are compatible using the same controller, the only reason why it wouldn't work is if someone went "If >32GB return IMPOSSIBRU;"
We know the s2 deffo doesn't support 64gb but this guy tested it out and it worked..

Yes, yes it will on both counts.

If you format the card in the phone, what format will it use? Presumably FAT32. If so, will it be better to format in your computer?
The 64GB cards come formatted exFAT, so no need to format a new card at all (otherwise in computer if the card is already used). Just confirmed I will be getting hands-on an S3 today, will by trying out my exFAT formatted 64GB card in it

Thanks for the reply. I'm starting to think there is something wrong with my card. My SGS3 cannot mount it, then it asks to format it but that gives errors and ends up saying I can now safely remove it.
I have tried to format it on Windows 7, I can select exFat as the file system but it tells me the capacity is only 30.6 MB. Weird.
You might want to check you got what you thought you were buying, google for H2testw. Plenty of no-what-they-seem-to-be cards about.

Question?
Hi guys, i have the 64gb SanDisk sd card... I had formatted it EXFAT using Windows 7. My phone (galaxy s4 gt-i9300) recognizes it, but i dont know what is wrong, cause I cant download files bigger than 4GB... And also my recovery recognizes it. I rooted my phone, but if I check the properties of the sd card on Windows it shows that it is on EXFAT? Should I use a different method to format it?
Thanks in advance

Hello guys,
I've rooted my AT&T LG Optimus G (E970) yesterday, and also unlocked the Boot Loader and flashed the ROM from SnowJB v1.1, v1.1 All of this to make Sygic Navigation (with cached maps from TomTom) work before a foreign business trip. The whole thing installed seamlessly and seem to be working fine (have just got it running for 24 hours so far). Another big THANK YOU for deleted LG bloatware!
BUT this is the problem I've come across and was even able to double-check at the local RadioShack: This flashed ROM doesn't support 64GB MicroSD cards, while the original, stock AT&T with Android 4.0.4 did it without problems. Here's the detailed description:
1. I've purchased an SanDisk Ultra 64 GB microSDXC Class 10 UHS-1 Memory Card 30MB/s with Adapter SDSDQUA-064G-U46A from Amazon.com, inserted it into the original phone with its Stock ROM, and did not do anything beyond it. The phone quickly recognized the card, and I could work with it without problems for days.
2. I had to switch to the original 16GB MicroSD card when installing CWM Recovery tool, because the installer simply couldn't read the original installation file from a 64GB MicroSD - it showed that the card is empty. And yes, I unmounted each card properly each time I was extracting it.
3. After flashing the ROM successfully I tried to replace the 16GB MicroSD with my original 64GB one. The device seemed to see the card, and then switched to the permanent, never-ending mode of checking the card. The message was smth. like: Checking USB Device for errors. I waited for several hours and interrupted the process. This was purely related to this 64GB MicroSD card, because everything else was working well, including the 16GB card and the flashed ROM itself.
4. I've reformatted the card in my tablet, but this didn't help either.
5. Trying to make sure that it was not a particular card (or some operation) to blame, but rather its size, and also because 16GB is just too small, and I started regretting about the whole ROM-flashing procedure in the first place, I went to the nearest RadioShack that had both SanDisk Ultra 32GB and 64GB MicroSD cards in stock. There I purchased the 64GB one and inserted it into the phone. As one might remember, with the stock 4.0.4 AT&T ROM it worked instantaneously.
Well, this time it was somewhat different: The device started checking the "USB device" for errors, but it ended soon, and then it said that the card is ready to be used! BUT it still stayed in an UNMOUNTED state, and the phone couldn't mount the card anyway. Tried it several times, shutting down the phone and inserting the card while it was off, etc. Then I returned the card and purchased an absolutely similar, Class 10 32GB MicroSD card. The whole thing worked like a breeze immediately, and it's in my phone as I am writing this.
The whole experiment with a clean, factory-formatted 64GB MicroSD has completely proved that this ROM, while very good and seemingly stable, has a problem with 64GB MicroSD cards. Help would be appreciated, but I am afraid it's the ROM that needs to be changed...
Kind regards,
Leo

Yes, it does seem to have issues. Some people are able to use it just fine, while it doesn't work at all for others. I don't have a 64gb sdcard for testing, and have been really busy lately, but It's on my todo list. My theory is that it is caused by it being detected as usb storage instead of a sdcard, but if that is it, I am not sure if I will be able to fix it.

Hello everybody,
My system administrator has taken a lot of interest in the case, and he verified that even when formatted using the FAT32 format my 64GB Micro-SDXC card does not always work. It all depends on the tool.
Namely:
1. It did NOT work out of the box, pre-formatted, as I've written earlier - my very own experience at RadioShack.
2. It did NOT work after formatting with the HP tool, and a couple of others.
3. It started working perfectly (and is mounted extremely quickly) when the EaseUS® Partition Master 9.2.1 Home Edition - Free was used to format it (FAT32, of course). My sysadmin had to delete the partitions created originally or by other tools, and then he re-created the primary partition and formatted the card. After that it worked perfectly in my phone, so my earlier concern that the problem is somehow related to the custom ROM was wrong.
4. Interestingly enough, this card even started working at full capacity in the guy's Samsung Galaxy Tablet that is NOT designed to accommodate more than 32GB officially...
I was wondering if i could use a 64gb sd card on my ham2. I currently have a 32gb but thats a bit small for me. Thanks

I am using a 64gb and have heard 128gb work too. I use a fat 32 partition and link2sd and use external sd as main storage.
I too am using 64GB -- formatted to FAT32. If I recall, my card was pre-formatted with 2 partitions which the phone will not recognise. If you format it to NTFS, TWRP might not recognise it in recovery mode. Windows will not format such a large drive as FAT32, so you will have to use another tool -- e.g. MiniTool.
The caveat is avoid using a (cheap) USB card reader. I've corrupted the card before when transferring too much data to the card. Newer readers built into your laptop or using the USB cable directly to the phone seem okay.

Just be sure you get something beyond first gen (40,MBS) cards. I have had 0 issues with anything up to 64gb I now have two 128gb cards that both work but get corrupted and require a format every time I attempt to transfer 10 + Gigs of information at a time.
