So, I don't have a computer camera and can't really afford a good one, but I know that my phone has 2 very good cameras on it. So, naturally, I'd want to use my phone as a web-camera, to video-chat in Skype.
I've tried IP Webcam and the stream is so slow and out of sync (several minutes slow) that it's completely useless. DroidCam application hasn't been supported on Jelly Bean Android version and gives a USB device not found error (not a problem in my end, all adb and fastboot drivers completely work) and I don't know of any other solutions that would be compatible with Jelly Bean or would actually work.
Any advice?
(P.S. I have a HTC Sensation if that matters)

okay this is really my last chance
The phone recognizes USB connection but it does not allow me to connect with the htc sync.
I have the hero and there is a ADWlauncer at the minute I restore to factory settings will return adw.
Internet, I followed a lot of steps, and to connect to the PC is possible but I can only encourage mass media and this is not what I want.
this is a hero htc + romupdate to sense not possible,
someone has a solution that can lead to happiness!?
or close the phone to your computer! but does not himself that he can connect with HTC sync, I have no choice options.
Hoping to answer that makes me more angry on the phone haha.

Q. Are you using a custom rom or are you using sense?
If you are using a custom rom I am pretty sure that the htc sync software will no longer work.
If you using standard android 2.1 with the official hero rom I don't know why its' not working.
If you are using a custom sense rom later then android 2.1 I guess it could be that the htc hero pc software might not work on the new rom.
Hi guys,
I don't usually pair my PC and Aria. The truth is the last time I did was when I was running a stock HTC Sense Rom, and had all the HTC Sync crap installed. Then my win7 laptop picked up the phone no probs and presented me with all the different bluetooth services.
I'd like to pair it again but this time I'm a fresh install of win7 that has never had HTC software installed and the Aria is running CM7 nightly82. When I try to pair it the Win7 system sees the device. Then the Aria prompts me for the password but doesn't appear to pair or doesn't identify the device 100% correctly, and doesn't have the drivers.
Do I have to install the HTC Sync software or is there some other way?
Much thanks

I would suggest installing the HTC Sync software to get the drivers, then try pairing again.
Yes I did a search bot ways and even looked though the threads that came up when i was posting. I get the feeling new posts are not realy accepted here so If I need to look on another board just let me know.
I am still trying to get my Bluetooth to work between my Alienware M11xR1 and my AT&T SGSII.
All drivers install but the last two for Bluetooth do not work and come up red and INOP.
I have installed the latests drivers for both but no luck. It will only work using the Laptop as a Bluetooth headphone/micro Phone device. No file transfers or any data. Kies will not work either.
Has anyone else been through this?
The goal is full data sync and file tranfers Via Bluetooth
Thank you for your help
I've been trying to pair my phone to my computer too but failed. I've searched and it seems like samsung did not put out any BT drivers out for out phones. My computer and phone can see each other but was never able to pair up.

Guys, I'm back again with another dumb question.
While running ICS 4.0.4 on my HTC One X, I was very happy that the phone was connecting to each computer as external USB storage.
Lately the phone received the JB update, which made the OS 4.1.1
Since then, when I connect the phone to Mac it requires Android File Transfer, which is simply POS from my point of view; totally impractical.
And when I connect the phone to Windows, it behaves like a camera but like Android File Transfer window, quite useless and file types are not being recognized properly, icons look different then what they actually are, etc...
What happened to the phone, anyone knows?
Android upgrade changes the previous nice connection type, I guess...
But is there any chance to go back to that type of connection while running JB?
Cheers.
A buddy sent me his Droid Razr Maxx after he dropped the phone and smashed it's glass screen. I'm trying to see what I can salvage from it. The phone does not show a display under any circumstances. It will boot up (I can hear the default boot up sounds). The navigation buttons light up. When I plug the phone into my PC the internal hard drive shows up. I can add and remove files. But so far, that's it.
I had hoped that I could use HDMI Out as an alternate way to see the screen but so far I can't make that work. I've got software that I've used on my own Razr Maxx to root it, to factory restore and to flash custom ROMs but I know that his phone was pure stock and I can't get to the settings I'd need to change to let the software "see" the phone.
What else should I be trying to get something from this phone? If I could make the phone functional again that'd be great, but even if all I could do was get the HDMI Out to work I'd use it as an Android computer on my HDTV (I've done this with my own phone and it's way better than the Android "sticks" but I don't like tying up my phone). Without any clue what's on the screen I've got no shot to do the things I'd normally do to modify the phone.

Ehm, the first thing I ask myself is: When the screen if broken, how do you want to use the phone?? Also when you get output on your TV - the touchscreen wouldn't work (I guess).
However, I would read the logs first, especially the kernel logs (dmesg, last_kmsg) via adb shell, and see if I can find something related to the screen. The stock kernel has DSS Debug ON, so you will see several entries in dmesg in case that the touch device responses to the kernel.
You can slo control most functions of the device via adb shell - i.e. enable HDMI (assuming stock (based) rom is installed), install and run apps, debugging and much more. But you need to know how to use it of course.

As to how I'd use the phone, assuming that the touch screen cannot be resurrected, if I can activate HDMI Out then I'd use the phone as an Android "media device" on my HDTV. This is the main reason I wanted the phone in the first place. I've read up on the Android "sticks" that plug into HDMI ports on TVs and then you can stream Netflix or access a browser, etc. They all need a separate power source (via USB usually) and most of them get poor reviews for wifi reliability, root-ability, etc. But since I've already used my Maxx HD in precisely this way from time to time I know that an Android phone could do this same thing, probably better. Assuming I can get the main functions of the broken phone to work I'd activate Bluetooth to connect a mini keyboard/touchpad. I've used that on my Maxx HD. That way you can control every phone function without ever having to touch the screen.
I've never been very good at adb shell unless I was simply trying to follow precise directions but I think I understand what you're saying about being able to input some commands using that approach. I'll read up.
I guess you are talking about the mini PCs with android. I'm. Not sure but I would say they have correct drivers for remote control - the razr would need that in its kernel first.... Only my thought.
But a keyboard or mouse on Bluetooth could work - assuming you can enable bt in the phone without using the screen..
