Cannot install apk's PA 3.57 - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've just updated my S3 to Paranoid Android 3.57 and when I tried to update the f-droid repository I couldn't tap INSTALL on the screen, thought it might be the f-droid's fault for not updating so I downloaded the .apk from their webpage.. and I still cannot hit "install" the cancel button works fine.
I did try to install another package from .apk but I couldn't so here is the thread, also tried different file managers.
Install from unknown sources is checked in settings.
P.S. I'm sorry if this is the wrong place to post this thread, but I've read this statement about the Paranoid Android development page http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=42271154&postcount=4699

[Q] Google Music Assistance

Hoping someone could help:
I am running nightly 4/22 with gapps 4/22 I have never been able to load the google music app from the store. I am currently running the stock ICS music.apk. If I try to install the new google music i get the "Package file was not signed correctly. Uninstall the previous copy of the app and try again"... If I delete the music.apk or uninstall via apps or TI Backup and try to install the new version from the store I get "Application already exists". Does anyone have any clue why I am stuck in this stupid cycle...
I found the following via google support: If you receive the "Package file was not signed correctly" error, this is because your device is not on a user build. If your device is on a "userdebug" build with "test-keys" in the build description, the Google Play Music update will not be able to be installed from Google Play at this time.
Dont know if this applys to cm9 or not as I dont understand any of the above. I beleive I had heard of people running this app on CM9, so I assume its my machine specifically.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you.

UPDATE- I downloaded the newest google play music .apk and renamed to music.apk. I took the stock apk and replaced with the new one within the rom zip. re flashed rom and it worked. Unfortunately it doesn't show I have purchased via the google store, so it will never update itself. I will probably have to do this edit anytime I flash a new rom.
I have tried changing the apk name and it doesnt work. Also went to store and tried to install the app on top of the one loaded and it just sticks on "installing"
At least its working for now.

An other Apps doesnt install

So, to clarify : you can install apps from play store, but not from a .apk on your sd card? That's an issue to do with halo. The fix? Either update your ROM to the newest nightly, assuming the issue is fixed, check the PACman thread to see if it's fixed. (if there is a new nightly, not sure if PAC do nightlies..). Otherwise, you have to disable halo each time you want to install an app from sd card. Disabling halo is done by double tapping on it but holding down the second tap. Then you can move the halo, drag it up to the red circle cross at the top of the screen. Install your app and re-enable halo.

install the Gapps meant for CM 10.2 and then check
Pleas Explain that.
That seams strange. What has Google to do with GPS?
I did not install gapps becaus I am looking for a minimal version. I Only need the Play Store. I do not net maps, gmail, +, Feedback, Talk, hangout, etc.
Must be a bug with the 10.2 nightly version did you try mentioning this in the main thread?

Thanks a lot...
Thanks a lot for that. My Problem was in this Forum I was not able to detect the main tread. My level of knowing was not high enough.
Maybe I could take your knowledge. Did you know how I could install gapps only with the Playstore? I checked the Gapps Zip file could I delete all other apks from /system/app/ in the ZIP file?

Yes u can give it a try, but first make a nadroid bkp of ur current setup
Aslo use '7Zip' on ur PC to edit that gapps zip file then copy it on to ur sdcard (internal) and flash it from recovery and see
PS- also try updating Cm10.2 to the latest available nightly wide 'CM updater' and see if it resolves ur GPS issue

As the above poster said you could try that pretty much safely, though you must be careful in not removing other playstore related file's like play services as sometimes their lack of presence will give you a barrage of fc's from play store, other apps like YouTube, Map's etc can be safely removed, I suggest you flash gapps as it is and use an app like system cleanup to remove the system apps you don't need as it will probably remove the associated lib file's and you won't have to worry about them yourself.

Use the instructions from the following guide,
Android Fix: Error 491 in Google Play Store
Don't forget to clear out the data and cache of Google apps mentioned in the guide right after you remove your GMail account. If the first method doesn't work, then try the second one. Do post the result. Hope I Helped
This guide did not help ether, I tryed both methods without sucess, still error 491.
Is this maybe a ROM bug, because some user seems to be the same issue as well mentioned in:

The playstore fix is for error 492-498 and not for 491. You can understand the Google errors and its possible solution from the following guide,
[Help Thread] Google play errors Explained (with fixes)
As for the error 491, try repeating the first method but this time make sure to delete the Google Play updates too when you remove your account. As far as I know error 491 is not a rom bug. Most of the people had this problem solved just by removing the Google account, clearing out the cache associated with Google Play & Play services, uninstalling the Play updates, rebooting and finally adding the Google account again followed by installing the updates. Do post the result. Hope I Helped
still no change, did exactly all things mentioned on the website. Besides, there was no option to deinstall the google service update.
The only eplanation I can see it must be a rom bug.

For general google errors this is true, but in this case, the error is caused by missing DRM (Digital Rights Management) libraries and binaries.
I have looked through the source code to find the specific files, and compiled them using the BroadcomCM.
Now everything is working fine =)

It is "kind of" a rom bug, the source code of the rom is working fine, but some of the libraries weren't included in the final build.
So I've added it via the gapps package, and now everything is working fine.
You can try my gapps package.
It's working for me. Tested with CM 9.1 Beta 5.

After several days of investigation I've found the solution.
A specific library and a binary was not included in the ROM (which is apparently needed by Google Play).
I read the log files, searched the missing files and compiled the corresponding source code using the BroadcomCM repository.
I included the missing files in the Google Apps package and added some lines to the updater-script, and voila a working Google Play
Changelog:
Added libdrmframework_jni.so to /system/lib
Added drmserver to /system/bin
Modified updater-script to set the permissions
Credits:
bieltv.3, Alberto96, Psyke83, Spacecaker, Lopicl.00 for BroadcomCM (which I used to compile the binaries and libraries)
Info:
For CM 9 aka. ICS
PS:
Can someone post a link to this thread in the "CyanogenMod 9.1 - BroadcomCM" - Thread, that would be great.

Yes, it will work. But you should check if you are having the same problem.
Look into your /system/lib/ folder and search for "libdrmframework_jni.so".
Do the same with your /system/bin/ folder and search for "drmserver".
If both files are missing, then this Google App Package will fix your Error.
The libraries and binaries are also working for Totoro.
PS:
Just wait a few minutes, I'm currently writing/posting a new/better version.
Stay tuned

If you have already installed a google apps package, which throws a 491 error, you should uninstall it first.
Because my previous google apps package (or the GearCM package) has old certificates, and therefore you cannot update Google Play Services, which is needed by some apps.
First Option
Therefore I recommend, that you uninstall the old version first.
Here is a detailed guide on how to do this [GUIDE] How to fix and upgrade Google Play Services.
Second Option
If you don't have stored data on your phone, you can also flash the rom again to delete your system partition.
Then you can install my new package without uninstalling the previous package.
Best regards

Can't install apks

When I try to install an app it says app not installed. I have tried signing the app, changing the version number and can't get it to work. I have tried installing apks I have downloaded and patched apks from lucky patcher and nothing works. So is there something that doesn't allow the phone to install modified apps?
I can't install samsung keyboard apk on my samsung galaxy s9+
Are you trying to install a new version of an apk that's already on your phone? If so, can you uninstall the older version first?
it is Android 8.0 security features. Google removed install unknown source. You need to give specific permission to file browsers or apps that does the install - for example, if you have app, copy to your phone, and open Samsung File, and click to install.

Samsung blocked sideloading most of it's system apps. Nothing you can really do about it.
Replace app with tutuapp
Your Android application may not be suitable for them. What you need to do now is:
Try updating Android, otherwise you go to the store by reinstalling your device, but this is very time consuming and costly. You can also use tutuapp android (visit tutuappplus.net to download) this free app store that helps me use great apps for Android.
