Need help porting MIUI - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Here is my problem:
I am porting MIUI V4 from Jiayu G2 to Alcatel OT992D. They have the same hardware and screen resolution so I thought it won't be a problem.
However it won't boot. If i use stock libandroid_runtime.so it gets stuck in bootloop, and if I use the one from the port rom, it gets stuck on splashscreen before boot animation. I can't get a logcat because adb says waiting for device. If any of you have an idea what could be the problem, tell me, because i am trying to port it for a few days, i have tried changing base rom and even port rom but its always the same
Also i have tried porting manually and using rom porter.

you have to modified boot.img to for miui to get work....

Try PatchRom from Miui. The guides can be found here http://en.miui.com/forum-12-1.html Use Ubuntu 10.x and you might have better luck. Patchrom will take Cyanogenmod for your device, insert MiCode (MIUI code) and where it fails you'll have to resolve the rejects. Then build the zip and things should work.

[Q] Hi i have CWM installed what should i do now?

Hey, i've flashed cwm on my tablet recently but i dont know what to do now. I have the android 2.3 installed and i want to install ICS, my device is not/was not supported by the recovery, can i install any ICS on the forum? Do i need a specific one? Should i make my own port?
Also, i was able to root the device (the gingerbreak reboot) and i have access to / and was able to install CWM but most apps say i dont have root, is there anything i can do?
First rule is u never ever, ever install anything not for your device. Doing so, probably a hardbrick is waiting along the corner.
So, even if i install CWM i wont be able to install any ROM? Cant i just pick a ROM for other device and port it?
yes u can port a rom from another device if the the original device got almost identical hardware to yours. but that is not an easy job.
or u could build rom from source if u capable of, more chance of fixing bugs than ported rom. cm source is freely available on github, cm9 to be precise if you're looking into getting ics rom. cm7 (gb) would be easier because u already got stock gingerbread rom.

[Q] Porting TIPs needed :)

Hi, recently, I've tried to port some ROMs to our P760, but not very successfully. Some of them (paranoid, especially) stuck at boot animation, some of them did boot, but showed "com.android.phone" stopping error. So I thought I could use some tips on what are the best ways to port ROMs to the P760. I already have android kitchen and tried simple porting methods.

Help nonthing is working

Help, please!! In the lastest days I have been porting rom after rom. I've tried different guides but I always get the same results. Yesterday I ported some roms but always got this problem, I made a post
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=42976415#post42976415
I get the same result everytime. Is there something that im not editing or dragging. The roms do boot, the just have the screen issue. I've tried changing libs folder but it doesn't help, what should I do?
These are the roms i ported:

[ROM][HELP]SlimICS v4.2 - DS5

Good evening,
I have started to work on porting Slim ICS rom to our Streak 5. Slim ROM is really fast and smooth on older HTC devices, so I think we can get good performance by using this rom on our Streak too.
I ported this rom from HTC One X Slim ICS ROM to base Kibuuka´s AOSP ICS ROM.
Unfortunately, I´ve got bootloop at boot animation. I can see boot animation, but it looping the same tasks (see logcat).
So that´s why I want to ask for help with developing of this rom. I´m noob, I can´t fix that problem.
Thanks for any help
ROM (only 64 MB!!!)
Sorry, I cant give you link, i have less then 10 posts. If you want to help me, write PM, i will send you link (dropbox)

You should use rom from device which have same spec as dell streak (see the chipset, gpu and cpu).
HTC One X rom will never ever can boot on dell streak.
Try port rom from HTC Nexus One, HTC Desire, HTC Evo 4g..
