I am about to install the Jellybean rom and have a quick question. When reading the install instructions, it states that Loki recovery must be installed. I rooted the phone and have Odin installed. Will this be sufficient or will this cause a conflict?
Thanks
Rob

Did you install a custom recovery like cwm or twrp?

It must have been done when I rooted with Odin as it is there. (TeamWin). I have the ROM flashed, just not sure why all of the bloat is still present. Guessing Bean didn't create a "theme" as of yet.

I dont think beans removes a lot of bloat. If you want basically bloat free try clean rom.

I am sorry for what will seem like a dumb question, but I recently rooted and used the bloatware remover. I would like to put the bloat back on the DNA but I am not sure how to do that. I downloaded the undo file and placed that on the phone and installed it via recovery but the files did not reload. Could someone help me to figure this out?
Thanks in advance,
Matt
Reinstalling the Rom should work.

Should I reinstal the stock rom and if so, will I lose root?

Just install whatever ROM you are currently running. You shouldn't have to wipe or anything, just flash it and your bloat should be back =)
Just make sure you flash a rooted rom (most are rooted except for bone stock verizon roms and RUU's)
I have a noob question. I unlocked/rooted my phone using the CASUAL method and it put twrp recovery on there. Is it possible to switch that to clockwork mod that I am more familiar with and if so, how do I do it?
Thanks in advance.
What I've been reading on here twrp works best...

Ah ok. From the 1-2 times I have used it it seemed fairly straight forward. I just know for things like CM10 rom it says install cwmod first then flash the rom. Is it possible to flash cm10 from twrp?

Yes it is. Just use goomanager to update it TWRP to the latest. Also I guess you could just use ROM manager to install CWM, but as stated TWRP seems to be the best for the note

Yep, you can flash it with TWRP, just make sure you are running the latest version.

I might give this a shot in a little while (need to charge the battery on my phone first).
I was wondering though does this rom trip the binary flash counter?

Negative. It does not trip it and you can always go back to VRUAMDK, etc.. etc..
Ok, thanks for the info.
I am going to transfer the rom to my SD card and make a backup of what I have first. Thanks for the work on the ME7 flashable update

With the update does using ktoon's kernel now NOT break smart stay?
Does it hurt anything to double flash a modem? I have already updated. (At one time it was bad juju to double flash an HTC radio.)

Can confirm also it doesn't hurt at all. I was using the new ME7 modem.bin under the MDK firmware.
Also I just got done flashing the rom and it looks like all worked perfectly. Just need to restore a bunch of applications and stuff (using nandroid backup pro to get that done)

You can try my kernel out. Everything functions including smart stay and smart scroll and all that. Here is the thread. Make sure you grab the TW one. http://www.droidforums.net/forum/samsung-galaxy-s4-roms/248964-project-elite-elite-kernel.html
Can I install this just to get the modem and firmware or what not then reflash other rom?

Does this update the camera firmware like the ota does? I'm wondering how you kept wifi and camera working.... Or is it still the old camera firmware. I don't need a detailed replay but I am very curious.

How did you root and what root are you using (SuperSU or Superuser)?
All you did was root? Did you install any root applications?
That happens to me sometimes too. Are you running a custom rom?

I never had this issue after rooting... And always did it via TWRP, manually flashing SuperSU zip file.

I always flash using TWRP also :highfive: But it's just some ROMs for me that have these kinds of bugs.
I would just flash a new ROM if I were you, unless you plan on staying with the stock ROM? If so, you should probably pick up another one, because your UI shouldn't constantly ANR.

Or even easier if you are on the latest hboot/radios, CleanWipe and flash http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2260154 or move into a new world with CarbonRom or something similar!
So I used to have a fully unlocked Dinc2 and I was able to pick ip this S4. Wow what a major difference. I stopped the auto update while in the store and obtained root. Now what do I need to do to keep root and not have the auto update ever happening again. Also I just put on cwm recovery nothing else. What needs to b done now? Am I able to flash any ROM/kernel here or are there restrictions? Thamks yall for the help. Looking forward to the great development that is gonna happen.

get titanium backup and freeze/backup+uninstall SDM that will keep updates from happening. (only for stock rom, once you install a rom it won't be a problem all roms have SDM disabled by default)
you can now flash any touchwiz rom however unless your cwm is loki'd you can't flash aosp roms (such as cyanogen mod, MIUI, aokp...)
so basically if you are not lokied you can flash only roms on the android development board if you ARE lokied you can flash those AND the ones in the ORIGINAL android development board.
