Hello!
I replace my faulty Micro USB flex ribbon but after re-assembling it my phone has no phone signal/service.
I dismantled it again and installed the old board, the result is the same.
I tried calling my number and it takes a while until my phone service says that I'm probably out of signal or my phone is deactivated which means
my phone detects that the SIM is inserted and I have SIM services as well but I have 0 signal.
I'm sure while dismantling process I haven't damaged anything else but something might have been disconnected but the question is what?
EDIT: Crap.
It seems the white cable which is connected to the USB Flex Cable is the antenna and it seems my new USB flex cable is not compatible.
Then....I wonder if you purchased the correct usb board.....there are 3 different versions if it for the international I9100 alone. ...and when you start thinking about the other variants of the phone as well.....
It's not as straight forward as you might think........
There is NO reason for the correct board to be incompatible with that white aerial signal cable......

and this is where the version number is printed.....
As previously mentioned, the original board will say (assuming you have the international version of the phone)
REV2.2, REV2.3 or REV2.4.....

Hi, I have a TMobile Vibrant ROMed and rooted here, and it won't turn on. the soft keys do light up when its plugged in, but that's all it does. The battery is charged for sure because I do have an external battery charger that tells the charge of the battery.
This started happening about a couple days after I flashed AOKP, the odd thing is, prior I had CM7 flashed and it randomly bootlooped on me while using it (read: I was not installing roms/kernels, just regular day usage and it bootlooped)
This time with AOKP, it doesn't turn on at all! If anybody needs further information, I'll be on all day to provide it. Can anybody please help me?
UPDATE : I'm starting to think the screen is dead; I was able to flash stock somehow, and I can hear the unlock sound, but obviously nothing is on the display :/.
You probably already know that you can check for vital signs by plugging it into a PC and checking for a USB connection. You might even be able to get an adb login.
If the screen is dead, you could maybe use it as a... webcam? Wifi widget? Paper-weight? Or spare parts?
Good luck with it. It does sound like bad hardware.

Hello,
I've never used the stock charger but realising it may be the cause of some poor performance, I took it out of it's box, plug it and then.. Nothing happens?
Actually the charger was in my former i9100G box. But even if the G version had a different charger, it's still just an usb charger and something should happen! Can I open it to check the inside?
Sent from my GT-I9100
You could, hell, you can do whatever you want.
Now, what you should do is to check info on this regard, G variant is underclocked so it might need less juice from the power socket.
Low charge is good charge in my opinion but then again, what the hell do I know.
I'm pretty sure someone else already tried this, it has to be in the interbet sonewhere.

I've checked again, even though the charger model is SAME, the usb connector looks sightly different...
It could also be a fake charger! Writing on it is not clear as the i9100 charger.
Serial starts by DK, other starts by RT. Left is i9100, right is i9100G.

So return it to the seller, get a refund, buy one from someone reputable (And don't make multiple threads about the same issue, you should know a lot better than that given how long you've been here :-/)
Multiple thread..? Curious where you see that! Actually I wanted to post on the I9100G global thread but couldn't find it. Now I did

My beloved S2 has the following problems and they started from yesterday:
The phone charges fine but even when it is plugged out, it shows "Charging"

When I turn the phone off, it boots back into the ROM, not the battery symbol
I have tried cleaning the port with alcohol

I have exactly the same problem, the micro USB port of the device is damage, you'll fix the problem by changing it
How much is it to fix? Did you do it yourself and was it easy?
Try bending the contact pin inside your phone's charging port upwards with a toothpick. Cured the eternal charging on my s2.

I made a Video relating to my reboot problem. I will offer $5 to anyone on paypal who offers me the solution to this problem and the video is here-->http://videobam.com/ERoQI
Here is solution
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=30508595
Ordered a new USB port from china. Just came in today and so I sat down to change it out. Noticed on the new one that its for a N7000 but my order says for a i717, decided to try it any way as I need to phone for work and it not charging properly is a big issue.
When I got my phone apart I inspected both parts to see if I could see any major differences, only one I noticed was on the i717 board it has 3 contact points on the bottom right, compared to the new one that only has 2. Figure I'd see if it works anyway. So j got the phone back together and everything seems normal but I can't pick up lte. My signal strength hasn't changed but I just can't get LTE. I changed my APN but its still a no go. Is the Cell antenna part of the uSB board? Couldn't really find any diagrams in google. Thanks

You can see the 3 contacts on the picture, that's the original part, the new one only has 2, the one on the right is the one I'm missing
I just changed mine about a week ago with no signal issues ...... Google both our device and the n7000 charging ports and see if you see a diff

Looks like the third contact either is part of the mic or the lte antenna, realized after a call that the mic wasn't working, so I reinstalled the old one and lte instantly came back and my mic was working, orded another so hopefully they sent the proper part this time
The antennas are up by the power button. But its generally bad to have an incomplete circuit somewhere (3rd contact).
Hi

Is there any way I could get data off it, it still powers up but drivers are not recognized on PC, tried kies, mobiledit but usb device is not recognized. Think Bluetooth and wifi are also switched off.
Anything else I can try or is it a lost cause?

I can now see the phone in Kies but it is locked due to a password needed on the device, no screen means I cant put in the password arrgggghhhh!!!
You can try to install custom recovery and then mount it to your pc if the display is not broken or you can look at the picture could be risky cause you maybwipe all data. Or you need to replace digitizer and the display

Display is totally gone.
Decided to leave it, he will have to get over it lol.
At least I now have a spare battery for mine.
