Guys, I am running on a rom from a year ago because I can't give up my keyboard! The newer HTC keyboards move everything around. The speech to text key is not in the bottom left, the exclamation key is moved from long-press 'A' as well as question mark is moved from long-press 'K'.
On the play store, there are some skins resembling htc keyboards, but they're not the one pictured below. They're from gingerbread I believe.
What are my options? Is it possible to flash this as a stand along keyboard somehow? Is there a theme/skin that I don't know about?

I don't know if it'd work, but you could try taking that HTC_IME and replace the one in the LTE and fix the permissions.

Been using JB keyboard from Play Store and have it setup almost identical. I also like to customize the arrows since I use them a lot.

Have you tried SwiftKey? You can enable the arrows, voice and emoticons key...

Haven't seen this in the EVO LTE forums yet so I thought I would link to this. This is the HTC_IME keyboard without the arrows for the HTC One X. Works in portrait and landscape without leaving the empty space on the right in landscape. I pushed it to my EVO LTE and it works fine.
I take no credit for this, just linking. Thank ali3nfr3ak when you get there.

Note: There are 2 versions. One has the background behind the keys changed to all black (*BG_Changed.apk). The other I guess is supposed to have a transparent backdrop but it looked more like transparent and black stripes so I used the changed version and thought it looked much better.
thanks man i needed this
Thank you for the link. Works great on flex stock Rom.

Okay solved replacing Google Now new search bar with original that most of us enjoyed better...download this file which is the google search box ported from my Evo3d running mean rom (uploaded to my 4shared) http://www.4shared.com/android/Pm2scNov/GoogleQuickSearchBox.html?...go to /system/app and turn off new google now (velvet.apk) by renaming to velvet.apk_off (may be possible to install without this step, just how i did it)...then just install googlesearchbox.apk and click replace and add google search widget to homescreen and enjoy!!

how is this a mod? lol
Playing with a new car dock, I discovered that the app allows you to run hidden apps that do not show up in the drawer. Looking further, I installed "HiddenApp" from the Google Play Store that showed even more. In the list of hidden apps, there is one called "Nyandroid". The app information just says it is part of the System UI (in the recent 4.0.4 OTA). The HiddenApp will allow you to create a shortcut on the home screen to run it. This made an "invisible" icon that just says "Nyandroid". Running the app gives you... Droids flying across the screen, Nyan style:

good find!
Editing icon type and tapping use default icon changed the blank icon to the nyandroid picture on Apex
Launcher not sure about others though.

Yep, it's an easter egg. I can't seem to access it the normal way because of Sense, but obviously it's still there. It was there in all the roms I tried back on my inc2

Emoji's are intercepted somewhere in the process and obliterated by gv and will come out and be recieved as little question mark boxes every time. I spent all night figuring out my lack of emoji ability. Just a heads up to everyone . So you must disable gv integration if you want to send/recieve emojis. But note that emojis can still be seen with gv on like a website, just not sent through sms
Are you rooted, if so. Its a non issue.

Emoji font updater (might be buried in Themes & apps) & the keyboard I posted in Themes & apps section will have you set system wide.

Do we still have to use a different keyboard to insert emojis?

Yes.
I'm looking for a transparent Google Voice widget. I've searched high and low on XDA and the web and have probably tried 8 different apks that claim to be transparent but they don't work for me. I had one working on my Epic but the transparency doesn't show on the Note 2. I'm running Sprint stock LJC rooted. Any help would be appreciated, but please, don't post a link unless you've tried it and know it works. Thanks!
hmm,I might be able to help. Will look at it tonight, If you're ok with it being based off the one my sig

Here, just made this-- made it mostly transparent (since it contains text) to make it legible on most backgrounds.
FYI, the widget layout is different for the epic, which is why it wasn't showing up the same on the note.
