So, not that it's SUPER important. But I just got done dialing my system in my truck in. Put all the speakers in, sub, amps, head unit, etc etc. And I got a model with bluetooth. And I must say, it's legit. I can stream music via it from my phone, take calls and it'll mute the music so I can take the call. I recommend to anyone that drives and talks a lot to do this. It's not too much and it's very helpful and sounds decent too.
been doing that in my car for a couple years now... Love it. But for some reason my MoFo will drop the BT connection after playing music for about 20 mins. Well maybe drop the connection is the wrong thing to say, it is still connected, still get message notifications through the Headunit, but it stops streaming the music....
Are you using the stock music player?

I have run into issues with the stock music player and google music/listen.

I have CarDock and BT DVD Player. Never had a single issue.

Happens with Stock, Mixing, nemo, and Player Pro... Normally when it happens i have to reboot either my phone or the car to get it to play again...
Hm that's weird. I haven't hit any issues either.

My issues seem to only be in wife's car with a newer jvc unit. I have an older eclipse unit and it works decent but no audio interupts
Sent from my MB855 using XDA App
Just put a jvc unit in my work car. Damn its sweet. Love being able to stream music without the aux cable.
Also mine has a bt remote so i cab skip tracks through Pandora or any of the other music apps without using the phone.
This and the unlimited Pandora apk is the best combo ever.

I have a Kenwood myself. But that's sweet.

Do you guys leave your bt enabled on your phones? Never really used anything Bluetooth except for my ps3 so i don't know how much it would affect battery life leaving it on.

I always have BT enabled. just to lazy to kill it I guess... I still get b=pretty decent battery life too.
Mine usually does okay. But I turn it off when not in use.

Is everyone having pretty good call quality on both ends? And what kinda set do you run? Stock? Just a head unit?
Sent from my Photon via XDA
Mine is a jvc kdr520 I got off Crutchfield. Call quality is great. I had my wife call me from the car and its all clear as it gets.
Sent from my MB855 using XDA App
Jvc av794 i think. Works awesome. Names of songs pop up via bt through music app. Calls also work great. Car has a factory 9 speaker h/k otherwise
I also have an eclipse cd5030 and call quality sucks. But its been that way with all phones. I think the car is too loud and there is no echo cancellation sw.
Factory speakers otherwise. And a 10 inch sub.
Sent from my MB855 using XDA App
Right on. I'm running four mids two tweets two amps and a sub. The amp is actually kinda handy for call volume.

I was skeptical, and in fact wasn't going to upgrade. My Evo 4G started going flaky though so I decided to upgrade. My humble $0.02:
- ultralight and rigid. exudes quality construction
- phone has a nice feel to all the surfaces
- Beats Audio - I thought this was pure marketing nonsense, then tried with the same quality headphones on this and my old Evo and there's a clear difference. Same thing when I plug in from the headphone jack to my truck stereo. Very surprised.
- speed - can't bog this thing down with anything I've thrown at it
- Battery - still not perfect but I think it's a bit more efficient than my old Evo. At work where I get very little signal it still sucks the battery dry trying to reconnect voice all day. I may just put it in airplane mode when at work. Frigging army construction regulations.
Any dissenters? I'd recommend this phone more strongly than any other phone I've had at the time.
In this forum i dont think anyone will disagree, yes it is a great phone. Have some fun,go over to the s3 forums and brag it up
This phone is extremely solid compared to the Evo 3D, which I passionately hate and wish I had never owned. Unfortunately, a bad signal is always a deathtrap for a phone's battery, but it seems the rest of it is working out for you.

Do any other cell phone providers have good service at your work? I use an app called roam control. In my gym the free-weights are on a lower level with terrible signal. With the force roam on the app I'm able to get constant solid data, so I can listen to the tune in radio app. Just a thought.

I tried finding the force roam app in the play store. Could it possibly be called something else? I can never get a data signal in a certain area, which frustrates me to no end.

If u search "roam control" on playstore there will be an app called "no roam control" or something like that. Anyways it is the first one on the list. It is by the same developer and there's a link to their website. U can buy a license and download it straight from there. Only thing that sucks is u will probably have to buy a new license for every new phone.

That's not quite true. Adobe isn't allowing it to be downloaded through the market, but sideloading it works just fine, and forms the Market link which allows it to receive updates.

There are 2 things that would cause what you describe:
1. the mic hole is plugged or blocked by something. Look on the bottom edge of your phone and you will see a very small hole. This is for the microphone. If there is something plugging the hole, you can use a needle or something similar to clean it out. Dont blow directly into the hole, it will just force stuff deeper into the hole towards the microphone.
2. If there is nothing blocking the hole or if it still does not work after cleaning, then the microphone is bad and needs replaced. You can take it to your carrier if you have insurance or find a cell phone repair facility near you and have them replace it.
I will try to clean and see if it works I called this mobile place but he said he don't replace them cuz its very. Hard thanks

Well I will admit that its not the easiest to replace, but any cell phone repair technician should be able to solder a new microphone on for you. If he cant do that, I wouldnt take your phone there for any type of work because it doesnt sound like he is qualified to perform some repairs.
True ill try to look for a better shop wait what you think it will be the cost to replace the mic
Sent from my HTC Mecha using xda app-developers app
Well that depends entirely on the shop, but probably in the $50-75 range.
So I Googled for shops in my area no luck its the same as other shops that its hard yo change that so I guess the only thing left is use it for 3 months how it is or get a replacement for 100$
Sent from my HTC Mecha using xda app-developers app
Well if you have a backup phone you could always use that phone and then mail-in your Thunderbolt to get it repaired at a shop that can actually do it for a reasonable price. I just did this exact repair on Monday and it worked fine, no problems at all.
Where do you live and what is the name of the shop

That's not the only problem. When you stream through Google Music or Pandora or even YouTube, (WiFi or not) the 4G LTE radio causes another buzzing. HTC has confirmed this, but has yet to release a fix.

I actually have noticed this as well. Even though I wouldn't consider by JVC XX crappy or cheap, they do buzz while my klipsch do not.
Since, from what I have read, only a handful of us are experiencing this issue, I can only assume that only a handful of the devices are defective. So, I called up verizon yesterday and told them that my DNA has a hardware defect, and they are sending me a brand new device! (the DNAs are so new that they don't have refurbished ones yet)

Yeah, I've used it a few times, mainly to mess with old people.
My mother-in-law still can't figure out why her tv turns off out of nowhere. Well, that's when you'd see me pointing my phone through her bedroom window.
