My Pandora app, stock from the market, will play a few songs but then the app will close. No error or forced close, it just stops and the icon disappears. Also, sometimes it will pause itself. I have smart pause off. And on one occassion Pandora started without prompting. I woke up to it playing randomly from across the room.
Is my phone possessed? Is there a known issue with?
I use Pandora a ton and this is very frustrating.

I had the exact same problem, I had to clear the application data, then all was good again. Also make sure you don't have a task killer/battery saver that is killing the app off.
Good luck.

The music play stops playing I took it off of auto end and put it on performance mode what else can I do to make it play even after the phone falls asleep

Remove gallery app also from auto end list. Somehow those two are linked.
Atrix needs both music player and gallery app not to auto end.

I can confirm this issue despite music player and gallery not being in the auto end list. Playback stops after 3 minutes. My battery mode was set to maximum saver at the time. I have not detested with other battery modes yet.

stop using the built in taskmanager and dont put anything in auto end list. Problem solved. i messed with that auto end./ task manger when i first got the phone and had the same issue. take everything off task manager reboot and ushould be ok. u have plenty of ram/memory.
I think that auto closing apps that you don't need in the background is a good thing. A couple of times my Atrix got hot, only to discover an app was misbehaving. I added it to the auto end list so that I could let the Atrix manage it.

Removing gallery from auto end list solved issue for me. Thanks for the tip
i have removed both gallery and music player from auto end list and mine still shuts off after 2-3 minuets
When using the stock player or Poweramp, shortly after sleep, the music stops. Neither of these apps are on my Auto-end list. Could it be something I froze using Titanium? I looked through my frozen list and don't see anything that related to music running in the background. Anyone else experience this and found a fix?
Thanks!!
I actually searched around more on another forum and found a fix. I had the Gallery in the auto-end. Not sure why that stopped playback while in sleep, but just played a few songs uninterrupted.

After much research I can assure you that autoend of any sort is very bad and a complete waste of time. Android "figures it out" without needing any help from a third party app.

Had the same problem. For whatever reason it is the gallery app causing it in most cases.

this was driving me nuts also and indeed it is the gallery app. This may have something due to album art
Does anyone know where the settings are for this?
Every time I connect to my car, either the music app or, now since I installed this other music app, starts automatically.
This is really annoying if say for instance I just want to play Pandora.
I'm on saurom 7.1.
Any help would be very much appreciated as I couldn't seem to find anything about this through the search.

This is a major shortcoming of android imho. Try headset button controller from the market.
Which music player ate you using?

Well, originally it was doing it with the standard music app that came with Saurom, I didn't uninstall that or anything, but now that I installed Meridian, it does it with that now.
I couldn't find any settings in meridian for that, but I guess I can check again,I may look in the standard music app's settings as well.

Yeah whenever I connect to my Ford Sync system, my BT audio always starts playing at some random song and usually midway. Rather annoying since my wife's ip4s commands are obeyed perfectly and BT audio waits for her to tell the system what song/album/artist to play.

Anyone managed to find a solution? This is so annoying.
I listen to radio broadcasts off of websites a couple times a week. The broadcasts are not available to listen to through any apps. Up until now I have had to keep my browser open while I listen to them which kills my battery because the screen has to remain on. I want to be able to background the browser and turn the screen off while still having the audio play back through my headphones. Is there any way to do this?

I Guess this is an iOS only feature
But u can make ur screen as dim as u can , using apps like lux https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vito.lux&hl=en
I dim my screen to 20% but it still seems to kill my battery quickly. I did do this with my jailbroken ipod touch but I don't have wifi access at my new job. Is there not an app like backgrounder for android? Or will one of the other browsers (ie. firebox or dolphin) work.

So I know I shouldn't expect much from the hardware site of the phone, but even when I just do easy multitasking like if I'm in facebook for a while and the swap over to snapchat via the multitask menu, it usually has shut down snapchat by itself so the app has to restart? Same thing happens with almost every app.
Also with spotify for example if I have to other apps running and swap a little between them in the end spotify will force close, this has not happened to me on any other device not even on my galaxy nexus.
So does this happen to others than me? I mean a light use of multitask it can't handle...
Other than that I sure do love this phone
Also how can it be when I turn up for the volume playing a YouTube video, listening to spotify, Google play music and so on, it pauses the video/song? Check through all settings can't seem to find anything.
