Just wondering if the digitizer frying issue with the mentioned kernel has been resolved as of the latest update? I cant post in the dev thread, not enough posts. I usually use that kernel when running CM10.1, and I was planning on continuing to use that kernel, But I'm not game enough if it hasn't been fixed yet.

Hi all,
I recently got my GS2 and am currently using the latest miui rom from miuiandroid, however I was considering cMIUI or MIUI.us...anyone that has tried all and knows their stuff can tell me what they think? Are they as stable as miuiandroid's ROM? What are the pros/cons?
Also I have been using SiyahKernel but apparently gokhan has stopped supporting GS2 and now only does GS3...any other kernel you would suggest that is better than siyah and allows 1.6ghz stable oc?
Thanks in advance for helping a newbie!

The answer is subjective, try them and make your own decision.
Is anyone running the newest version of LiquidSmooth for i9300? There isnt an official thread for this ROM anymore. I have posted on their facebook page but I havent had any success at getting a reply. I downloaded the new version of the ROM and cannot get it to flash properly. I have been running RC1 for a while now and that is 4.2.2 so I guess it cant be an issues between 4.2.2 and Siyah Kernel. Does anyone have any ideas or solid help for me and any other potential users of this ROM. Thankyou anyone who can help
Try Google for an alternative location for that rom .
The roms thread is active today in development so no idea what you are saying .
The dev is not updating his page he may no longer wish to post on XDA is one possible reason .

I have searched other variants of the Galaxy s3 as well as people with this version and they seem to have it working but none of them are helping me get it working, it could maybe be a kernel issue but on the official website for the rom there is nothing about kernels that do or dont work.
Could you please copy the link to the page as i have looked in both Original and normal and cant see one for v2.1 only the older closed threads for 4.1.2 Thanks
I'm also looking for this, can only ever find RC 1.

It's pretty easy to find.

RC2 and Stable have new GPU drivers.
Siyah Kernel has NOT been updated to support this.
DON"T use Siyah.

The latest OFFICIAL liquidsmooth release for hte i9300 is totally broken and the stable version link has been removed.
Siyah has now updated his kernel for cm10.1 and works wonderfully.

I'm running JB-v2.1-Stable (4.2.2). Works great, however you need the latest Siyah kernel 1.9.1 (available from his website/blog) (if you want to use Siyah). However this kernel will no longer work for JB 4.1 versions of roms. Need Siyah 1.8.9 for anything before JB 4.2 (bit of a catch 22).
i9300
Siyah 1.9.1
Liquidsmooth v2.1 Stable 4.2.2
2nd Rom - Ever Changing
(Sorry for posting here wouldn't let me post in the Dev thread)
Been using v4 from v3.2 (which I used for ages and lovedddd) for the day now and its great no issuses yet besides the ROM based torch which I'm sure will get fixed with a update but I do have two questions;
- Does anyone know where the custom hardware button actions thingy is?
- Does Siyah kernel work on this rom version i like stweaks
Thanks guys!
Hi guys,
I might seem like a new member, but I actually lurk the forum all the time, and have flashed and troubleshooted a lot.
Unfortunatly, I cannot post this in the proper forum, cause of my restrictions, so I'll just give it a go here...
Before 4.1.2 stock Sammy was released, I had been using MIUI V4 for a very long time.
Now with the release of MIUI V5 on 4.1.2, I cant wait to actually start using this, but the soft brick bug which people encounter concerns me.
I wanted to ask this in the ASNET MIUI V5 thread, but as I cannot post it in there, I'll just ask a general question here;
Does the ASNET ROM also contain the Russian Roulette Soft Brick Bug? If so, is there anyone that can recommend me a different MIUI V5 ROM?
Perhaps the unofficial AOSP ROM? Or whatever is out there?
I hope some MIUI V5 users can convince me to finally make the switch.
I'd be able to solve the soft brick bug, but the thrills I get when my phone does not boot anymore, is just horrible.
Sometimes I think I'm too independant as a regular flasher.
Remove my thread if I did something wrong, or this question does not belong here.
I've been browsing en.miui.com, miuiandroid and whatsoever for weeks now, and I still cant detect a reliable MIUI V5 ROM..
Im using MIUI v5 myself and I dont experience any problems at all.

Hey i have the same problem. I install miui v5 and use for about 2 weeks. However after that time my phone closed and i could not boot it again. I really want to use this rom but because of that issue i can't use it . Is there any proper solution for this issue??
Bump
I still have this issue, can anyone confirm if it has been fixed or is it just me?
Kernel: SiyahKernel S2-v6.0beta5
MIUI: Official 3.8.9 from the MIUI website
I know I'm using an outdated MIUI version, as the lastest is 3.8.23, so is it something that happens in 3.8.9 and the update will fix it? To be honest, I've had a hard time finding anything related to this matter anyway. It seems to be something exclusive to my phone and a few others.
hi friends, why doesnt the [ROM] posters add a "Supported kernels list" link to their page? How to know if the kernel is supported?? which kernel can i use with Ressurection Remix v3.1.4 ??
everything is running stable, but i cannot use Stweaks, and cannot overclock.
can i use Siyah kernel? it says it doesnt support 4.2.x ... which kernel supports this?? what am i missing .. i searched the threads and forums but was unable to find RELEVENT info..
it almost seems like no one is using RR
I try very hard not to create a thread, but search did nt help.. what keywords would you use to get the answers? can anybody also help me get a general idea?
these are "similar" threads.. still not the same though.. coz im not asking for battery life or anything. just a list of compatible kernels. is there no such list??!

Aokp
Frankly Speaking Dont Use The Rom
It was Good when it was new
But now its Outdated
And hasnt been updated For about 2-3 months
Better Use this AOKP
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2178228
Its official and Good
And you can use stock kernal(the one which comes preinstalled)
or
Tamasek's Kernal
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1797109
I Would suggest you to use stock kernal as it is finely tuned for the rom
custom kernal sometimes damage the rom
Dont Forget to press Thanks
why doesnt the [ROM] posters add a "Supported kernels list" link to their page
That would mean testing every kernel and every continual kernel update .
Devs build rom either with a kernel or choice of kernels .
Want another kernel then users are expected to bother to read the faqs guides and how to first . A bit of knowledge gives the user enough to read a kernels description and decide for themselves . Or even ask in the rom or kernel thread .
