Especially after the most recent OTA. No one has found a workaround? Thank you for your time.

Say what?
Haha what?
You can root on the most recent ota
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using xda app-developers app
Yeah but I read that there's no temp root anymore..I want to be able to back everything up before unlocking the bootloader...I thought that I could do that if I had a temp root so I wouldn't lose everything. Maybe I'm wrong?

I was just wondering should I re lock my bootloader bcuz since the source dropped I kno it will b unlocked bootloader with working 4g. Should I wait til then?
Sent from my MB855 using XDA Premium App
I would just wait, unless you need 4g now. The fix maybe as simple as flashing a new kernel.
I was thinking bout that too I don't need it right now but its good to have the retain 4g method long as hell too

If we could find the original recovery image, the retain your 4G method would be short and simple. Still haven't found it anywhere.

i rooted the phone then i updated the phone it broke the root the wifi tether wont work it said the phone is not rooted i try to reroot but it said i am already rooted

Try a factory reset then try to root it again.
Sent from my MB855 using xda premium
I upgraded to the latest firmware then rooted with the one root method without issues. The WiFi Tether works just fine afterwards too.

And if it is anything like the update for the AT&T One XL that changed the bootloader and made it semi-permanently unrootable (for months anways)?
That would suck.
Though, I am as curious as you.

Any news about update ( version, size )?
I downloaded and installed the update.
I installed it this morning while on the phone with AT&T because my phone keeps turning off in its sleep and he told me this update should fix this issue. I he was likely talking out of his assistant but att is gonna follow up with me on Wednesday to see if it is still turning off. So far this is my third LG E970 and they have all died in their sleep and I'm sure it was software. I hope this update fixes this.

If you deleted any bloatware it will not effect you because you can not update if you accidentally hit update
Sent from my LG-P769 using xda app-developers app
I was on 10g unrooted, Did the OTA update to 20f from T-Mobile and then rooted using JCase's method just fine, no issues.. been trying to root my p769 since May, couldn't do it with the KDZ flashing, tried everyday for weeks and just gave up. Suddenly saw people saying 20f is coming out so I deleted my frameworks and got the update the very next AM. After my phone updated I rooted it in 5 mins, thanks JCase!! Meant to thank you after I rooted it few days ago but I can't post in the development threads with my low post count..
Sent from my LG-P769 using xda premium
I'll try rooting via jcase again since I see other people with better luck...
