Does Galaxy Ace shows a notification when battery is fully charged ? Yesterday I got a new Ace, I kept it for charging for around 3-4hrs.. The battery indicator shows the battery full, but notification on the homescreen(when its locked) showed its charging..
How am I suppose to understand its fully charged..?
Yes, normally a notification should appear when the battery is fully charged!
How much hours does it take to fully charge if the battery is around 5%?
The battery isn't fully charged until you don't get a notification (both sound and green icon on the top-left corner). That's even if you see the indicator showing 100%
Wow..my battery is still blue.. in the right hand corner.. How long does it takes to fully charge?
Depending on ROM / mods, your battery icon may look different. But a notification should show up after around 3 hours.

Well that depends, wether you're charging via USB or the wall-charger (I don't really know the name of that thing xD )
USB charging requires more time, I've tried and it took me about 4-5 hours to full charge the phone.

Ok..Last nite... I charged for 3-4 hrs.. but didnt get any notification..maybe I will try it today..Is it ok to leave it on charge over-nite? Maybe 6-7 hrs after a full deplete..?
Have you tried to reflash your ROM? There's maybe something wrong within the kernel.
And about charging overnight... I doubt that's a safe thing to do..
Used to charge my old phone overnight everytime and now it's battery depleted within 4 hours after a full charge.

well, certainly not on froyo. probably only ginger has it in-built-i get it on galaxy s (ginger) but not on Ace (froyo).
Hey!
You can charge it over night. And it shows notification in home screen CHARGED!
CHEERS!
@rhadrio I havent re flashed it..just got it yesterday.
I guess the battery nowadays have no -ve effect, if we over charge them.. ? Any one can confirm this?

Of course its NOT good, if you OVER CHARGE it every time. And for correcting battery stats, you need to calibrate it(you must be ROOTED, before use BATTERY CALIBRATOR[free from MARKET]). But still I suggest to use it(BATTERY CALIBRATOR) only if you get too fastley drain you battery(I mean, if you see that you battery getting worst or similar).
CHEERS!
I haven't rooted it yet. I will charge it overnite today & lets see if its works better tomorrow..
Batteries now have built-in overcharging prevention. No worries.

Well.. I kept it over nite.. In the morning I saw a notification on the phone as "Charged", but I am not sure how many hours did it take to charge it.
I dont know about battery issue aftr overnight charging.....but i used to charge my 5800 overnight daily, i used 2 and hlf years but nothing happend to batry or batry back up...
and if u charge yor ACE with AC charger it will take min 4 hours as our chargers are 0.7A
and if u charge with USB ur cell will get completly charged in half time compared to AC charger

...nope! usb is 500 mA (0.5 A) max - in best case, depending on mode etc. so AC charger is faster as it's 0.7 A. max 3-4 hrs here on ac.
Hi, is it possible to make the phone charge whilst the screen is on?
plugged in charger at 37% battery and drove with navigation for 6 hours and when i arrived it was still 37%, would of been nice to charge it at the same time.
On return journey i kept screen off for the last hour so it would charge.
Thank you
It does charge even when the screen is on. I charge it while web browsing and it goes upto 100. You're using a navigation app which is processor extensive(as well as data) so that's why you battery neither dropped nor increased.

if it wasn't charging your phone would have been flat after an hour, instead you got six hours of satnav and some more for later.
You might find that you can get a bit more if you use a different car charger with a higher ampage, but breaking even is to be expected with SatNav.
Thanks, thats a shame as my SIi charged with navigation on.
I understand its powering the phone but not charging the battery, i use a 2amp charger same as i used for the SIi
USB car chargers are never as good as the wall chargers for charging your phone when the screen is on. I have tried 1 amp and 2 amp car chargers of different brands and like you, if my percentage is say 38% or whatever with screen on, then it will take close to an hour just to put 1% charge. Plug it into wall charger with screen on and it charges much quicker.
My s3 has an ODD battery drainage issue. I went to take a nap today and my s3 dropped over 40% in charge sitting on my bed side. My s3 also doesnt charge while on charger it discharges so it slowly goes down while on charge. It however does charges up when i turn it off.
- Also yesterday I was out and noticed my phone was at 35% battery and i knew my phone battery would die if i left it on so i pulled my battery out and left it in my pocket. When the time cmae i had to use the phone i put the battery back into my phone and turned it on. MY PHONE LOST 15% charge even while OFF and battery not connecting to the phone.
What do i do?

How old is your battery?
Definitely sounds like the battery. I had a similar issue with mine a little while back where the battery would lose the majority of it's charge quite rapidly, or be at 50%, and then it would suddenly die, and then when I managed to get it back on it would be at 2-3%.
ETA: My problems vanished after a new battery install.
New battery needed.
I also noticed that Anker have their S3 batteries on for half price at Amazon UK, well worth an investment.
I've a friend that was updated his s4 zoom to kitkat and also got rooted, then his phone is unable to charge...
when the battery come to 0% then he tried to charging the phone (it should show the battery icon and still like that until we turn on the phone) but his phone always on automaticly and his phone dead after that cause not optimally charged (still 0%) so it's always turn on then turn off automaticly until he stop to charge the phone...
Now he just turn on the download mode then charging the phone for several hours then he turn on the phone so he'll get the battery charged around 10-20% then charging it normaly.so,is there any way to fix this?
thx.
If you are charging with device stock charger then it should charge properly but if you are using any other charger of samsung then it won't charge properly.
It is a thing with voltage. Normal charger are output .5 A volt and s4 zoom charger are 1 A.
Also you can try out battery calibration app from paly store to delete old rom battery traces.

There's a strange thing that's happening with my galaxy S3. When my phone battery is around 6-10 % and I turn it off (to charge faster) and plug in the charging cable, it shows the green bar at the mid and when I turn it on it shows around 50% and starts draining fast. Maybe I should calibrate it. Any tip?
