What browsers are you guys using. I've tried to give the stock browser a go but it sucks. I have a zagg screen protector so maybe thats it. Just seems hard to press links.

The stock browser does not suck at all. I think it's faster/smoother than all other browsers.
You could give Google Chrome a try. It's a bit slow/choppy for me though.
There are a bunch of browsers in the Play Store to try too (Dolphin, etc.). Give them all a try and see what you prefer.
I've used dolohin browser before and like it. I just wanted to give the stick browser a far shot one more time.
I use Opera mini. It's very fast and I love it!

Stock Browser is awesome in itself.
But I use Chrome for the link between phone and computer. Luckily dont experience this clunkiness you are referring to.
I'm using Chrome Beta. I'd like to use something else but the syncing of all tabs/history between mobile and desktop has me hooked. Otherwise I really like Dolphin and another one called Xscope

I just tried out the stock browser and it's fast as hell. I'm going to use it from now on.

Stock browser does not sync with chrome bookmarks...an absolute requirement for me. I have never been able to get any of the bookmark sync across platform things work anywhere near as well as Google's built in solution, and I am not going to f%$$ around doing manual syncing. So I use the AOSP browser. Fast and light.

Find Chrome to Phone in the App Store, it's never not worked for me (as it is, in fact, built by Google).
edit: This doesn't support bookmarks anymore apparently... weaksauce. I always click the button to send to my phone what I need to read later, anyway.
I think it may be the thickness of my zagg screen protector. After using both browersers back to back the stock browser loads pages faster than dolphin but it just seems hard to click or tap anything. Sometimes I have to tap 3 times.
How do you install flash on the stock browser?

Is anyone having any luck running the Chrome browser beta?
I'm on Joker's CM9 (0.5.0.1) and have previously been on version 3 and 4 builds of CM9 but I get nothing but crashes with Chrome. It loads, and I can usually navigate to a page, but as soon as I click a link or button, it either freezes and exits.
I saw there was a Chrome and CM9-specific thread that suggested making a change to the ro.build.id parameter, but I tried that and there was really no change.
Anyone have any other suggestions?
Works for me, except tabs it crashes when try to use tabs..but I'm on 0.5.0

Crashes doing pretty much anything for me.

Thanks for the feedback, guys.
It just seemed weird to me that I was having so little success with Chrome. After all, Android is Google's OS and I've never had problems with Google sites or apps running on Windows platforms. Likewise, I have very few problems running the Dolphin HD browser on CM9, though I do have it set up for forced portrait mode as it will lock up if it goes to landscape (I understand this to be a known CM9 issue).
Anyway, it's good to know that it's not user error on my part with Chrome. Thanks.
works in my phone only thing when i try to use tabs it crashes.
has anyone looked into why chrome force closes when we try to open up tabs? I would think this would be something worth fixing, seeing as chrome is easily the best browser on android.

He is right. Opera is in the same boat. I use ics browser+ on 4.0 and above.
Hello everyone, I am a fairly new XDA user and have been on topics for my Galaxy S2. I also happen to own a Transformer Prime TF201. I have to admit, I love everything about the tablet aside from its size. Not so portable but, great aside from the portability.
Since there are little to no tablet optimized apps on Android I end up using the browser on the prime more than anything. Occasionally I will run into a problem where a page will load completely blank white. Usually, when this occurs, I just clear the cache and things get fixed. But, a few days ago, even after clearing the cache, the pages will load completely blank white. I have Chrome on my prime so I can use that at the moment but, it is very unstable compared to the standard browser that comes with the prime. Does anyone know of a fix to this white page loading problem?
Sorry if this has already been mentioned or fixed before. I did a search and didn't find anything on the topic so, I figured that a new topic might be necessary.

This happened to me once or twice, but simple closing and reopening helped. Since I'm unlocked and on custom rom, I haven't had such problem.

I would say just ditch the built in browser. I use two browsers: 1. Chrome as my primary and 2. Dolphin if I come across something where I really need flash. JB does away with the old Browser app and replaces it with Chrome anyway. So why not get it and get used to using it now rather than try to get along with the old browser which is going away anyway.

There is just something about Chrome on the tablets and phones that just don't do it for me. The PC version is fantastic, but, the android version is just bad I think. I have it lock up all of the time. I guess I'll have to use it for the time being I guess.

Have you tried using Firefox Beta?
That's what I currently use and it works great. I will say that I have had it toss out the occasional ANR message and crash, but I find it to be more stable than Chrome.

I have given a variety of browsers a go but, I just can't seem to find any that I like and are as stable as the stock browser. Why can't they just make it work like Apple's Safari browser for the iPhone?

I can't find it in Settings>Account>Google anymore. I rely on that because I use Quick ICS browser. Not a fan of Chrome. Btw, Chrome automatically syncs the bookmarks. There is Settings>Account>Google>Chrome.
Yeah, looks like they've dumped the feature . Damned annoying if you're using stock browser which I like a lot better than Chrome - not just for ability to continue using Flash but I've gotten used to that cool little thumb navigation thing. Grrrr gonna have to set up local bookmarks now :crying:.
Try https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.h.chromemarks&hl=en
Works great so far.

I'll just use chrome marks or whatever it's called now. Yes I also like the quick controls half circle of the ICS browser which is the other reason I use it in addition to Flash

Yeah! Nice tip - thanks mate. App works great in JB stock browser. Didn't think it did at first as I was looking for an additional "Account" folder as in ICS. In fact it syncs everying now under the local folder.
This was my only real complaint with JB (still can't think why they would have done away with such a useful feature though) so far. One very happy camper here: warp speed browsing plus Flash plus Google syncing plus the cool and improved thumb navigation thingy .
Now if only I can find a way to get ADB and root back .........
There is a free fix, no root needed

The easiest way to do this is to go into settings, then manage applications, then find the stock browser and select clear defaults. Then the next time you open a link or browse a web page it should give the option to use either chrome or the stock browser for these actions, click the box that says use this by default. Then click on chrome and you should be good to go
That dont help.... I need Covenant eyes to think chrome came on my phone and not the stock browser....

This seems like a harder work around than its worth if you haven't figured it out yet.. Why not just install a different app that's does the similar thing however actually allows chrome to be monitored?
Doesn't it seem weird how the internet isn't merged together with Google now

I actually like the new browser. Similar features to chrome plus flash.

Yes, the nexus has chrome as the default browser. At least I know for a fact the N10 does.

Guess which one is chrome and the stock HTC internet browser.
Sent from my EVO using xda premium
first one is chrom with the grey bar above lols
They definitely made some changes for the better compared to the old one.
I'm just happy that it reflows text. Google removed that in ICS+ for whatever reason.
i thought they only removed that in some phones like the s3, i know the evo has always had the reflow. and if the first pic is chrome, then we pretty much already have it as thats what my internet looks like just without the chrome name
Stock ICS and JB browser don't reflow text. Nor does Chrome.
And I noticed HTC realized 4 tabs wasn't enough. Bout time.
Actually it does reflow in jelly bean. Double tap on the text.

After you zoom to your desired font size, then double tap the screen. It will work. There is no setting, it is default behaviour.

google now is part of gapps, i believe? the stock browser is probably not chrome in the interest of the manufacturers not having google's branding all over their products.
