[Q] Can tell deep sleep from phone's battery settings? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

Hello. I was curious about deep sleep and looked at the battery settings built into the phone: settings -> battery -> click on graph -> and it shows awake in blue. Is it accurate to assume where I don't see blue the phone was in deep sleep?

Tab stays at 216mhz instead of Deep Sleep

Hello, I have installed the app CPU SPY to monitor the Deep Sleep of my tab. I have left it alone for about 2 and a half hours but only 4 minutes is gone to Deep Sleep.
I have WIFI OFF, Flight Mode ON.
How can I check these things ?

There exists an app that you can download which will show you what is keeping your device awake, and as a result, running at 216mhz. The app and a lot of documentation about it can be found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1179809
There is also a separate app which puts all but one of your CPU cores to sleep when the device is not in use. I've installed it on both my phone and tablet and it works great.

Thank you for your reply.
I have installed the BetterBatteryStats, please let me know where should I focus mostly to find what is causing this. Thank you.
I notice if I go into settings, sound, system- and turn off the touch sounds, the screen lock sounds, and vibrate on screen tap that the tablet goes right into deep sleep. It helps the battery a lot but it's still a bit worse than CM9 roms.

[Q] High Awake time and no explanation why, only few wakelocks and alarms?

I don't understand my high awake time. I posted some samples. I've much more awake time than my display is on, but I don't understand why.
Kernel wakelocks are about 15 min total, Partitial wakelocks are about 7 minutes, only a few alarms. My Processes consume only seconds of cpu time.
How can i find out what is reponsible for this high awake time? Are there other tools than BBS, CpuSpy and Elixir2?
Is there any way to monitor the phone during sleep/standby what causes awake time?
Your pictures didn't come.
Is sync on, running a location program? Installed any apps recently?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Pictures are now available. Sync is on, no location Program running. No New Apps
Your WIFI is running all the time. Might want to turn on option in advanced settings to turn off wifi automatically after screen is off few mins.
Yep, WiFi. And is your GPS on? If your network provider doesn't offer fast dormancy, you should go on and disable it also.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
are you using apps like screen off or something like that?
Wifi off has no effect on awake time, GPS is only active when used. VF provides fast dormancy.
What causes awake time? I see nothing in BBS?
I use a screen off app. But i don't see any difference when using power button, screen off by app or timeout
Well you might want to go through this topic.

I've no problem with battery drain. Overnight with wifi connected (no 3g data) consumes less battery than 3g connection.
My problem is the awake time because i dont' see any cause why this is that high.

That is the culprit
Screen off app dont put your phone into deep sleep but instead it turns off your screen but still awake, meaning use physical power button if you want to put your phkne into deep sleep. And also make sure you close all apps in the multitask or recent apps

I tested it. There is no difference beetween power button and my screen off app (force_lock permission). Both shut down the device and enter deep sleep.
Any other ideas?

I supposed your using BBS? You told me that when you shutdown the device it enter deep sleep? So how in the world you have high awake time if your phone is in deep sleep?
Here try this:
Make a BBS widget in your homescreen bcoz it is more understandable than entering the app itself. You will see deep sleep time and awake time and screen on time in there. Then try to shutdown using power button then after 5mins check if your deep sleep counter goes up, then try your screen off app then after 5mins check if deep sleep counter goes up if not then its different.
Or maybe your wifi or mobile data is on gps is active.

IMO
I guess when you don't see huge drain in battery while the screen is off for long then it means that its working otherwise its not.......

Install BetterBatteryStats. It shows time of deep sleep and many more.

"Sva" kernel wakelock

So this 2 or 3 days I'm getting this kernel wakelock. Device isn't able to enter deep sleep mode and battery is draining fast. Can you tell me what is this wakelock and how to prevent it? See the screenshot.

Wakelock Detector show a list of what wacklocks been active.
The easiest way is to uninstall this app.

BetterBatteryStats not working

Hi. I recently got this phone and I am having some issues. I'm on latest Global Dev (6.11.3 Beta). Battery life is good (around 8 h of SOT), although I think it's consuming too much when screen is off (went to sleep with 20% and battery was dead when I woke up).
I was trying to install BetterBatteryStats (from XDA) and it's not working. After installing I get a white blank screen for around 15 seconds and then a toast message (Fallback to "Since boot") and the "Computing..." message with the interface grayed out in the background. But it doesn't do anything else.
I tried giving BBS all permissions possible in case that was the problem, but no luck.
Any ideas? Thanks.
Make sure you turn off wi-fi or mobile data whatever. You can also set automatic battery saver from security/battery/battery saver

Thanks. I know I can do those things. But why am I having this problem with Better Battery Stats? Is it working for you? Can you try if not? Link here.
Did a clean reflash. It's working now.
