Can someone point me towards the lightest rom they know' I need one that is striped down to basics 300-500 mb plz thanks
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
We have Slim Bean, which is roughly 90 MB without gapps, then a Slim gapps package at 20 MB.
And I'm pretty sure you can debloat Slim further at the cost of some basic features.
They were few Ultima Rom slim version aswell, but stopped at version 10 i think. They were 400mb touchwiz based.

instead of making a sarcastic post why didn't you just PM a mod and ask him to move it if you were that bothered?

A standard Slim install with gapps is about 300 MB

Its partly about education. Usually the mods quote these posts saying "This ^^" which tells me it's acceptable.
Please don't take this the wrong way, but your post equally could have been handled via pm.

I don't know how great the app's search function is because I use the phone's web browser to go on xda. It's fully functional, flash player and everything, so I don't see why anyone would want xda's app (other than to pay for it to help support xda). The app is just another app that uses your phone's battery and hogs RAM (not a terrible amount of RAM but too much to justify using an entire app just to browse only one website, especially with limited functionality)

Before I root this phone, can I use ODIN, and simply root from the main menu, as I did my Galaxy GS3? stupid question, I know, but it is the WIFE'S phone, don't wanna live on the street.

This is the kernel from the L7 stock international base.
Its rooted with init.d support.
This is fixes the Exnyos exploit.
Should be flashable on all variants.
Updated 1/11/13 - Add option for boot animation support
bootanimation.zip goes in /system/media
Download HERE
Hit Thanks!
thanks
Thanks appreciate it.
No Problem!
Let me know how it goes. I have not tested it on VZW yet but it should work with any of my ROMS and Beans ROM. Basically any stock based ROM.
Is this the same kernel inside the latest ace rom (4.05)?

The one without boot animation in the name.
OK....here I go......
Edit: OK....got it installed. Seems all is well. Just ran quadrant and got 100 points less than average.....but that could be a number of factors and isn't noticeable anyway.
PS: something new.....for quite awhile now when I would tap into a thread or post to a thread then exit, xda would totally shut down as would others forums with the same format.
It didn't do that when I just posted here. Weird?????

Its pretty much the bridge between hardware and software. Software/Kernel/Hardware. As simple as I can make it.

Thanks for this. I just flashed the Unsecure Boot Image - L7 Base - Anim Support.zip in TWRP. I still have Chainfire's app installed and it's showing the Exploit is still exploitable, is that normal?
I do have a new Nexus looking boot animation. My Kernel Version shows as:
3.0.31-679347
[email protected] #1
SMP PREEMPT Wed Dec 26 10:26:24 KST 2012
Do I have the updated kernel with the exploit patched?
I've searched high and low but I can't seem to find a flashable zip of the stock L4 kernel. Anyone know where I can find it?
Thanks in advance!

I've just read on one of the MIUI dev's weibo page (kind of Facebook for chinese people, for those who do not know it), that they started working on the Nexus 5 port, and expect maybe 2 month of work to get it stable.
Of course, no other timeline for now
