I am on stock ROM deodexed and was wondering does anyone have the mod to get me the 4-1 boot menu?? I really liked that MOD but dont want to flash another ROM. Im losing sleep and tired of all the different ones and just want to use my phone. If anyone has the cool boot menu thing please could you help me out.
It dosent work for some reason, that's why they are not in the ROMs anymore.
Use "quickboot (reboot)" from the market, its basically the same thing.

Maybe Im looking for the wrong thing or Im calling it the wrong thing. Basically in some or most ROMs when you hold down the power button you get all these options to restart etc. Then when you hit restart you get the option to reboot, normally or with recovery etc. How do I add those settings to the stock ROM??
This will help..

Yes that is exactly what I was looking for but its for another phone. I was wondering if anyone already had a zip for this phone with those mods in it??
Remember this list a few weeks ago....go down the list...it will have your goodies. I think it should work.

You know what's funny. The sensation is a different phone also..literally..the same but different..but that was how I was able to get a transparent(clear) status bar on my phone. I flashed a transparent mod for the status bar from the sensation themes forum.
I made a mistake and went to the CWM and did Advanced -> Partition External SD Card Size -> 0M. Then I did Reboot Recovery. When it rebooted I got the weird boot screen (See attached. The image quality is horrible and I apologize). But it basically gives me a menu similar to a F8 menu you get in Windows, with several boot options: RSD, Fastboot, Android Recovery, etc. Has this ever happened to anyone else? The phone boots up normally but I just want to get rid of seeing the menu every time. Thanks.
Sounds like you somehow deleted or moved your boot image, unfortunately I do not know of a simple way to fix past rsd. Maybe someone else knows what to do.

Thanks. Yeah that is what I thought. Hopefully someone knows a way to do it...
Any ideas?
Do you have a backup in cwm, if so go into restore/advance and do just a boot.img restore.
Just a thought...

Didn't have a backup but I used fastboot to flash the boot.img and that didn't work so I am wondering if that is even the issue now.
Here is a better image.
EDIT: Note mines does not say No OS detected, it says OS will boot in 5 seconds (I took this image from the Atrix forum).
Do you still get a boot/splash screen? If not maybe this is the screen that is under that we don't see. You can try to flash a new one, see here

Yeah I have a custom one from there. It shows the menu screen then after I get the normal custom boot animation.

I flashed the stock sbf and its back to normal. It looks like a couple of the stock partitions were deleted. So if anyone else has this problem just do a flash to the stock rom.
Well, today I attempted to install a custom rom. Well when I rooted, then install Rom Manager and the latest CWM, My tablet just resetted. Well now its at the Samsung logo and when I try to get into recovery it just resets. I am not sure If i have the proper instruction on how to get out of this. No matter what I do I always end up at the logo.
Use odin to flash ur tab

I dont see anything for the 4G tab. I mean I'll bypass it and just use wifi, will that still be the same?
I Can't get the tablet to go to download, it just goes black screen. And if i try to do a factory reset, well I can't. It just goes into a bootloop
The Exact steps I did, After following the guide to root, I flashed CWM to the latest version. I then pressed Backup Current Rom (stock/root) after It did that I can only get the samsung logo or a black screen. Not recovery or download

Ice I bet I know what you're doing wrong, I was doing the same thing too... to go to recovery, press and hold the power button+volume down button, once you see the Samsung logo, let go the power button but continue to hold down the volume button.
The you will use volume down to navigate and volume up to select.
PM me if you still have questions I can help you and will be online through out most of the day.

What I mean was that when I saw the two icons, and I went to "Download" It automatically went black screen. Finally though it wanted to show something and I was able to let it reboot with the recovery-cwm_4.0.0.4-sam-tab-10.1.tar.mr5 file
Now I don't know if im rooted but I dont wanna risk anything since I dont have the charger at work, just the USB so ill try to flash a rom tonight.
and I was saying in my other thread(before this all happened) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1486095
Will it be safe to use all the roms? I dont use my 4g i just use the wifi.
Make sure you know what model you have, and don't toss around the term 4g as loosely as many seem to these days (I mean around the net, not necessarily this particular part of xda, the term is often used to describe both HSPA+ and LTE devices though both vary greatly in hardware support). Do you actually have a Verizon SCH-I905 or something else?
Flashing the proper ROM onto your device could mean the difference between it working or boot looping.
In the case of the Verizon tab you're best choices are either sticking with rooted 3.2 or flashing build 22 of Roman's CM9 based ROM at this point in time. Choosing the CM9 based builds as of now (2/9/2012) results in lack of modem service (no 3g/4g support) on the Verizon tabs.

Oh I apologize, I thought there was one 4g samsung tablet. It is a Verizon SCH-I905. So If i just use the wifi only, I wouldn't have a problem with the rom? or maybe any wifi roms?

two words where you went wrong. Rom Manager. dont ever use it unless you want problems. it doesnt flash CWM recovery dude. its a dummy flash. you need to flash recovery with odin and then move on from there.

Trust me, if it could be easily done, it would be. Pretty sure that's part of the bootloader, don't advise messing with that.
Ok that would make sence. I found this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1292524 so I changed it to a custom logo and that'll work since I can't remove it

thanks ill look it up once im done flashing more roms
Hello all,
I could not find a solution to my question anywhere. I tried searching, and no luck. I'm hoping one of you really smart devs can help me figure this out.
Ok here goes
1. I was trying to root my mp3 player for a while, a Galaxy Player 3.6 US version (capacitive button)
2. Using the steps at this guide, and the rom from this guide
3. Everything was working perfectly until i tried starting up after i had finished with Odin. As it booted up, I saw that it had a discolored and messed up screen, as in everything was yellow and garbled
4. When i finally got past it having a black screen after that, I saw that it was way screwed up. The screen resolution was way too large, and I couldn't do anything
5. When i tried to re flash the phone to the original stock rom, I tried going into download mode and Odin did not recognize the device, and neither did windows. When I turn it on, and let it boot into the screwed up resolution, It works to a certain extent, as i can open ADB, the drivers working. When i tried using adb push sysbkup (my backup dir from before the root) /sdcard/system (the system directory), nothing happened.
6. This mp3 player is what I need everyday, so I really need help fixing it. Just for the record, Odin does not see the device when it is in download mode, so I cannot re flash it to the original stock rom D:
Thanks for any help, appreciate it
The player actually starts up, but I cannot log in, and It won't show the entire number pad. Adb only recognizes the device when it is actually turned on and booted up into android.
If anyone could help, It's greatly appreciated

I think if you can enter in download mode you flash the 3.6 US rom from my topic : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1864741
Rom is a Linux Kernel and Android system : The kernel must be compiled for every device because he have driver and some feature for this unique device. The Android system can run can run with another device like freexperia rom for sony. 3.6, 4.0, 4.2, 5.0 device are different.

I can enter download mode, That isn't the problem. The problem is that i can't connect it to my computer , my computer won't recognize my mp3
Also, I have tried new drivers, but Odin only detects it while it's actually on (android)
Edit:
Windows update is so useful! It downloaded the CORRECT drivers, so now im able to reflash to the stock rom. Any ideas of how to root it correctly? I don't want to screw it up again
I reflashed the stock rom, and now it STILL doesn't work???
It is still having that discolored startup and the resolution problem

This is a really weird problem, because when i go into download mode, it still says that im running the official samsung rom, so I'm wondering if it even flashed correctly?
Now it says custom, even when i download the stock rom? Is there something wrong? I do NOT want to root it if i can't use my mp3, and the main problem of using it after trying to root is that the screen res changes, and I'm only able to see the top half of the screen

Can you provide me with an actual stock rom from anywhere? I can't find one, they are all rooted and I need a regular, stock, unrooted rom :S
I tried unrooting with a rom i thought was "stock" but it still says custom rom in download mode, and I haven't seen anything except once i tried to flash and it gave me a yellow triangle. The system boots up into the screwed up verson,
I also cannot clear my caches as recovery mode won't let me select anything because the home button doesn't work, and neither does the screen or anything for that matter. The screen does not register touches
Ok i tried something new and just flashed the stock INT version
The system starts up in the correct resolution but it doesn't register touches still
Ok, so I managed to get the correct rom installed, everything looks normal except for one thing. The touchscreen does not work. Does anyone have ANY idea how to fix this?

What you want to do is start clean by deleting the drivers for the gplayer 3.6 and reinstalling them, then plug in your player and make sure Odin can detect it, then flash the appropriate ROM. this whole thing could have been from a bad cable or driver, make sure you have the USA ROM because the international does not have the same kernel.

Actually he has been posting in many of the 3.6 threads. His problem was caused by flashing 4.2 ROM to his 3.6 device, which seems to have overwritten more than just his kernel and system. He always seems to leave that part out In hopes that someone actually can fix his problem without understanding it
