Apparently Acer released kernel sources for their phone having MT6589... I am sure that by just making some changes we can make kernel for A1160...

is it for 5'0 inch hd device? varun chitre has also kernel source for MT6589 But it is for 4.5' inch devices n our is 5'0 So..we cant make a kernel..

I really want to make a kernel for ST15i, so that I can run CM10, since expeacer is yet to publish kernel for my device.
Is there anyone here that has the time to teach an idiot (namely ME ) how to make/edit roms and all that?

Editing a full rom is very hard and time taking....just edit SystemUI and framework-res to change the look and feel of rom. For example see my themes...all made on same rom but works on all phones...link below

#1.BOOT IS INSECURED:
This Means ro.secure=0;
ro.debuggable=1;
persist.sys.usb.config=mtp,acm,adb
The Above Modification In boot.img Will Make Our System insecure Which Exactly Means There is No Root Permission Required For Editing & Modifying System Files and We Can Easily Acess the adb.
#2.init.d SUPPORT:
With This Mod You Can Enjoy init.d Scripts like Performance Tweaking Scripts & Battery Tweaking Scripts Which are CWM Flashable and Widely Available.
#3.CUSTOM BOOTANIMATION SUPPORT:
Personally I have Tested the First Two Features Myself..Custom Bootanimation Support is Added But Not Tested By Me..Play Safe With it...

Above all i can't make a odin flashable tar.md5 & tried hard to make it myself but can't. i've attached the boot.img file those who are in linux ubuntu just get this boot.img and make it as odin flashable and post here..other wise if u wish just grab the boot.img file from here and flash with any boot.img flasher application available for android[ZIT FLASH Is recommended]

At the Moment i'm concerning on the governers and frequencies..soon i'll be with a kernel with those features...And onemore thing i'm not compiling from source I'm modifying the stock kernel so there is no need of source codde and all..

what do you mean building rom?? if you are building cm11.. there's no need.. it has native theming support..
and there are thousands of themes for cm in Playstore.. and with newer cm11 you can even make like.. your own theme by using parts of different themes.. so i don't see no point in wasting time themeing from source..
if you are talking about decompiling stuffs and theming.. then there are tons of guide to help you with that.. and decompiling frameworks and apps and theming is not called building.. it's called cooking or something like that..
Buddy, just decompile your systemui.apk but firstly install framework-res.apk, no need of sources in theming rom if you are making rom in @dsixda 's kitchen

uot doesnt work with mine.
There is no "Simple way" for theming.
U have to decompile it using Apktool
then go to drawable-ldpi and edit the things
stay away from .9pngs
and then recompile

This tool has successfully deodexed the framework, app, and priv-app of the Moto E 2015, Samsung Galaxy Note 4, and Nexus 6. It should work on many others so please let us know your experience.

the tool seems to does what it says it should do, deodexing system/app, frameworks & priv-apps...
while deodexing system/app & priv-apps, an error/warning message is generated for each odexed file:

The rom you uploaded does not have anything to deodex. Have you already run the script on it before uploading? I need the untouched rom to see what is going on.

I removed the test zip from the post above and posted v1.6 which incorporates the change. Thanks for helping me with this one. It will add a large number of devices to the supported list
