Hello everyone whenever i check bbs or gsam battery widget or wakelock detector there is no wakelock but the thing is that after 1 hour or so whenever i check my phone i lose 5-6 % .That means not even 1 day of standby
what could be the problem? i've tried like 20 roms and different kernels and still have this issue..

Do you keep your data/wifi/auto sync on? If so disable those to reduce your battery drain.

Which is your current ROM and kernel?
To fix this you could do the following
1. Reflash the phone's stock OS(preferably GB or ICS)
2.Just in case re-calibrate the battery via cwm or an app.
3.Run with the stock ROM for a week without installing any other apps.GO STOCK!
With this you can know if the problem is ROM or Kernel or you battery.

I did but as i mentioned problem occurs even in stock rom!
But it cant be the battery its brand new i really think it isnt

Force deleting the batterystats.bin file is battery calibration. This is the closest thing a user can do to properly set up the battery monitor chip.
The file is used by the chip set which monitors the voltage across the battery to give out the % reading. It's normally reset by the chip itself if we charge the phone up to 95%+ each time. But improper flashing of roms will cause residue data to remain resulting in a error in the %.

Wrong. I have no idea, where you are taking this from, but this is completely false.
Today's myth debunking:
"The battery indicator in the status/notification bar is a reflection of the batterystats.bin file in the data/system/ directory."
No, it does not.
This file is used to maintain, across reboots, low-level data about the kinds of operations the device and your apps are doing between battery changes. That is, it is solely used to compute the blame for battery usage shown in the "Battery Use" UI in settings.
That is, it has deeply significant things like "app X held a wake lock for 2 minutes" and "the screen was on at 60% brightness for 10 minutes."
It has no impact on the current battery level shown to you.
It has no impact on your battery life.
Deleting it is not going to do anything to make your more device more fantastic and wonderful... well, unless you have some deep hatred for seeing anything shown in the battery usage UI. And anyway, it is reset every time you unplug from power with a relatively full charge (thus why the battery usage UI data resets at that point), so this would be a much easier way to make it go away.

Well thank you. You've completely changed my conceptions about battery! I apologize for any wrong information I may have provided. So I ask you is there any other way?
Right now my phone switches of on 10% all these days I've believed it was just a file problem but since on reading the article I can see it's not. So is there any other way to properly make the phone show the proper battery left %?
Mine dies just at 10% is there any way to correct the problem?

You can try deleting the batterystats.bin file, but I am 100% percent sure, that this won't fix your problem.
Though I have not been active on this section of the forum, I can not provide any other solution. I know there have been other threads, you might want to try searching on the forum, if there are any solutions.

Well you can just charge your phone to 100% and then delete the batterystats.bin file via Root Explorer or boot into cwm and go to advance-delete batterystats.
That helps you and your system to get a more accurate reading.
Other option is to "bump" charge your phone, let it charge till 100%, wait one hour (while charging). Unplug phone and turn off, plugin in charger again and charge for another hour. Turn on phone and delete batterystats.bin. Bump charging isnt healthy for your battery tho and just gives a temporary effect of "better" battery life.

As the battery stats are a system file then no as you dont want to mess with system files you say .
Battery stats if left alone will reset within a few weeks of use anyway .
The majority are not programmers we just follow the instructions .

i dont see a reason why would i want to delete this file, as my phone is just 1 week old and i thought there are some calibrations need to be done when you get the phone..
i assume what you guys are suggestions is some periodic treatment to do to the phone after few weeks/months i already have it?
if so, again, as my phone is new - is there anything i should do to the battery?

BUT the wifi was on the whole time, would that be the reason?
any possible way to determine whats preventing the phone from sleeping?

It depends on what apps you use. For instance IM applications keep the phone alive, while the screen sleeps.

WiFi could be on always but not Awake, so some apps/process must be going on in background, to find what it is,

I am relicabrating the battery after flashing a new rom too.
after i recharge the battery overnight i boot into cwm recovery and delete the battery stats.
but what about if you have 2 different batteries (original samsung) and use them alternate after one battery is fully discharged.
do i need to obbey anything different ?
Hope anybody can enlighten that issue.

Imo, you will get false readings everytime you will change the battery.
there's no solution for synchronising it or i.e. calibrating the battery1 and then changing somtime to battery2, then you'll get wrong information from the system about the charge of the battery, because it's calibrated to battery1, okay but if you then change back to battery1, the system info about the charge of battery1 should be fine... hope you understand what i want to explain

I've already did a battery calibration, but not after flashing the new Siyah' 2.0 kernel.
This is very annoying, and makes me wondering if I should recalibrate or what...???
BTW, the question is : HOW ?

Using Revolution 2.7.1 ROM with SiyahKernel v2.0
This might just be the ramblings of a mad man, but I have been thinking lots lately about battery calibration on the sgs2.
Normally on most android phones the power off charge is completely independent from the rom so that if you charge when powered off you know it is really a full charge, not controlled by pre-logged battery stats, you can then wipe the stats and get a better idea of what "full" is when you are powered on.
On the SGS2 the charge when powered off is still controlled by the rom (see the app "no moar powah" for an example of this), therefore it may still be under the control of the same battery stats so may not indeed charge any more than what the rom thinks is full when you are powered on.

the best thing you can try is to run the battery flat, charge while off, wipe battery stats anyway and hope for the best.
Will try it again ....
Maybe should I flash another rom after full wipe, or stick to a stock one.
I can't imagine that my battery is defected yet !

My first current conclusion :
The best way to calibrate your f*** battery is definitely to do it manually.
Just delete batterystats.bin in data/system, after full charging (with Rootexplorer or another app)
Then, use it until to 90%, and full charging.
That's all ATM.

It is normally the same thing, I prefer IMO to do it manually.

If you read the FAQ on the SiyahKernel v2.0 thread it clearly states:
Q: do I need to recalibrate the battery?
A: You don't need to calibrate battery for SGS2. Thanks to Entropy512 to pointing out that our device uses MAX17042 which is specifically designed not to require calibration.
Therefore it is not a battery calibration error, you should get your battery checked or replaced as it may be faulty. Good luck!

I've already read it.
But the fact is I am not the only one who gets issue with battery calibration, when flashin new kernel/ROM.
Shall we all replace our battery for a new one ? I don't think so at first sight.
In addition, many people notice calibration really works and make the battery more accurate than before... Common placebo or what ?

It's definitely weird if powering off your device still drains as much as 10% overnight. I don't think any battery calibration can stop the phone from draining when off.
Have you tried reflashing a stock rom? From my experiences, the stock rom gave me the longest battery life when I first got my phone, but that may just be the fact the phone was new.
No, I've been stayed with Revolution ROM for a while.
At the beginning, never had this dropping issue. Seems to starting after flashing Revo 2.7.1 and Siyah' kernel, but not 100% sure.

I have some problems with my galaxy S2, the major one is the battery lifetime.
When using the device, it drains superfast. I can not use the device for even 6 hours.
Because I can't afford to buy a new device I am looking for an solution.
I thought that it's a software problem and flashed supernexus rom but the drain is still there.
The overcharging ( 0% to 100% then taking battery out, turning off device and charging again) had no effect.
Battery drain (from marketplace) logs changes of battery status.
The log attached is a disaster.
So my question to you: How to track and solve the problem?

I think its the kernel problem. Keep ur phone clean from unwanted apps which run in background, stop unwanted services such as wifi, lower the brightness, keep ur phone uc/uv as much as possible, try to be on stock rom as much as possible, increase the screen timeout and clean the battery. Thats all i can recommend

I dont understand the language in the attached pic, so thats not much help. All I can suggest are the usual suspects for battery drain.
Install CPU spy to check the various states in which the phone runs. Is it going into deep sleep like it should? If its not, thats your problem right there
Another thing to do is install Better Battery Stats (search the forum for the thread) and use that to check for unnecessary wakelocks. Additionally, I don't think what you mentioned (overcharging) is a way of calibrating your battery..although I could be wrong there.Instead you can use any battery calibration app, or if on siyah or dorimanx kernel, use the 'reset fuel guage chip' option in ExTweaks. else there are threads about calibrating your battery without the use of an app.
Or if none of the above works, you probably just need a new battery. Definitely not a new phone

It is BetterBatteryStats app thread.
BBS app is very useful to examine the battery stats and find wakelocks (prevent the phone from entering into deepsleep state) and alarms (activate the phone when in deepsleep state).
You can examine the BBS log yourself or just post your log and stat files to this thread to be checked by the "experts".

At the very top of your dump file you attached, it says:
Statistic Type: (3) Since Unplugged
Since 1 h 3 m 55 s
You need to let it run for longer than this after unplugging. BBS will reset stats and start a new dump file when you unplug the phone.

But since some weeks, I find my battery lose approx. 1% per hour...and I don't know why.

So I'm wondering, if like me you're using sometimes the Airplane Mode, how much battery are you losing per hour ?

I can use AP for about 10 hours (never tested longer), without losing a single percentage. Did you check for wakelocks?
1% if I hit snooze on the alarm 5-6 times over half an hour, 0% if I switch the alarm off as soon as it goes off (This is over 8-10 hrs).
Edit - Battery could be on the way out if you've had the phone for a while.

As you can see here there's nothing really obvious, for my part I do not see wakelocks
However, in normal usage, when I make some calls, I can see the battery draining much more than before.
I had some doubt about the open source RIL implemented in CM but I recently flashed an older nightlies (prior to open source RIL commits) and get the same drain in Airplane mode...around 1% per hour.
Anyway the small draining you get with your respective is showing that there's really something wrong on my phone.
The question is: What's wrong ?!

Quite weird, because I can't detect any bad wakelocks in that post either.. Maybe try another rom (Samsung based) to test it out? I don't use CM anymore so I can't say anything about it, but Samsung-based roms work really good.

My bad, sorry. I was sure to have mentioned that my battery was new. That being said, now you know that I changed the battery
Yesterday, I made a full wipe (again) ...factory reset, format /system, run GS2ROMNuke script then flashed the latest CM nightly.
After the first boot I just configured the Wi-Fi access point, my mail account and disabled location services. Nothing more than CM installed.
Then I waited the phone was in full charge (~2 hours),then disabled sync, Wi-Fi, switch in airplane mode and unplugged the power supply.
The phone has been left in this state for ~11 hours, believe me, the phone lose around 11% of battery.
I'm losing it
Anyone with an advice ?
Could it be due to the phone itself, some hardware faulty component ?

Since you're already testing it all now, why not try a Samsung based rom like I suggested..? Maybe it makes the difference for you.

yep you're right and I'll probably flash a Samsung stock ROM
However, just for sharing, someone pointed me out this interesting thread where some users had the same issue.
Unfortunately, it seems to be an hardware related issue.
