Fairly new to this. Is going from a touchwiz rom (with perseus) kernal as easy as just going into twrp and wiping cache and installing the new cm10 rom? I am looking at liquid smooth.
No, you will need to back up everything of importance and completely wipe your data. You can try your way, but more than likely you will see some errors.

yep you need to wipe data...there is a guide in the dev section that touches up on this.
Thanks for the replies. I went from a charge to the note and well thats was like re-enventing the wheel. No one click on the charge. Always haveing to swap roms with kernels.

So I have had my Fascinate rooted and had Cyanogenmod 7 on it for a while now. Just recently I have had an issue where all apps would start force closing and I had to wipe my device. But for the past two days my device has been in a Cyanogenmod boot loop. I have tried clearing the cache and have wiped it from recovery and it still loops. Updating the CWM has not done anything and I just want to use my device.
Please help!
You will have to flash back to stock. Might as well try cm10 or aokp jb while you're at it. Everything you need is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1238070

You'll need to root your phone to be able to flash custom ROMs via Recovery, you can also install kernel such as Perseus or Siyah which allows you to overclock

Does anyone have a ROM or Nandroid backup of a stock TW ROM?
I lost mine in an SD crash.
Thanks in advance.
Why not just download the odin download that imnuts posted in the android dev section? It's stock 4.1.1

I should have said a "Stock rooted TW ROM"
And I'll look at that thanks.
It would be better to just flash back to stock and get it that way. Everyones phone is different and it would definitely be a bad idea to flash someone elses nandroid. I still have my TW backup for my Note 2, but on my GS3 when I lost it it didnt really matter. If I had issues it was easy to use odin to flash back to stock and then use Tibu to reinstall my apps.

My apologies. I've been active on 3 or 4 forums at once lately and made a mistake, thank you very much for correcting it for me. :good:
Flash the stock package and then root it? Since it is the older pre-exploit patch firmware, you could even use one of the exynos abuse root methods.

and bingo was his name o...
Just got the Verizon S4. Is there a way right now to flash it with stock jelly bean, with no bloat? If so can someone point me in the right direction?
If not possible now, will it be?
Thank you
Root just got working yesterday and recovery earlier today, big items to get roms going. No vanilla roms out really yet. Give it a little time to stabilize. If you are planning on waiting make sure not to accept ota updates or the way root and recovery are done might be patched.

So back when I Flashed ROMs with my dinc 2 everytime I Flashed an update for a ROM I had to wipe data and format system and all that before I updated. Otherwise things didn't always work right.
I understand that ROMs for the S4 often have OTA like updates.
My question is do I have to wipe phone before I take a OTA update. Or just when changing ROMs?
