i'm not so sure because when i bought my sola i upgrade it to ICS immediately,no try to play games on GB...
But i think yes,GB best, 2nd JB (sola don't have official JB,unofficial got but gaming not so good)
did anyone tried gaming on gingerbread?
gb and ics
GB(mostly) and ICS where u can use Chainfire3d to play compatible and some incompatible games with custom driver. root of course. i tried play nfs most wanted on my Xperia go with SDDATA from my friend htc ONE X(nvidia tegra2 gpu) , becoz i dont want to download my own(mali) sddata, so in chainfire i choose to use nvidia gpu driver, it worked! , it would be black display without correct driver.

now using jb too on xgo, 12 percent battery left at midnight, woke up in the morning have about 9 percent more, i play games like nfs and surfing the net too, about 2-3 hours a day, charge my phone for every 2 days.
Pandemic, jb sure it's good in devices with 1 gb ram but for our low end devices with 512 mb, it's nit that good plus some pieces of hardware don't work.
Sent from my ST25i using xda app-developers app
Simple, Flash a custom ROM like simplebean or Super JB and install the phantom Kernel.. overclock your device to 1.15GHz and play away till your battery dies... oh and superJB saves battery life..
BTW the new aosp ROM by devswift gives 220 mb free ram along with awesome gaming performance. Gof2 without any lags..

I've heard recently that the Xperia J (1Ghz single, 512MB Ram) will get 4.1.
So Jelly Bean may run on Sola and U which are more powerful but Sony told us that they wont get the Update.
Why does Sony something like this?
The thing is Xperia J hardware is not that good and it got free ram to run project butter
with sola and u a beast is there and it aint got free ram so thats why

Xperia Go has a lower resolution than the sola and u.
Go has a very low resolution and hence free ram
Let's actually compare and see once how much free ram these devices really have under identical conditions.
then the truth will come forward
With Xperia u
Normal use ihad
60-180mb free of ram normally..
60 mb whole playing high end game or heavy browsing.
So any with Xperia go can tell the truth..
But if we can use ivs on xu why not jb..
Both consume approximate same amount of ram...

Xperia neo V has 1GHz single core Qualcomm Snapdragon S2 processor & MSM 8255 SoC.. Check gsmarena for full specs...

No, u need to unlock bootloader first then u have to flash custom kernel to overclock
Sent from my Xperia neo V using Tapatalk 2
As i know you..
you need unlocked bootloader to overclock because you must install custom kernel. It support 2ghz overclocking. Most people prefer (at least this is what i think.) to overclock at 1.4 Ghz because it is a stable and more safe. Well our phone as you already know has ICS/GB/ and JB(unofficially).I recommend ics. Well it can currently play any game available on market (*at least this my opinion) except THD games which chainfire 3D cant make them work. Also it has 4fingers touch-screen. 720p camera recording. Armv7 processor. Ohh and 3G calling is impossible .

Hello mate! You can explore a lot of things also here in neo v forum. If you're in a locked bootloader you will have 1Ghz, decent for playing most of the games in play store. But you will experience some lags using a stock ICS ROM so I suggest using a custom ICS ROM when ur neo v is rooted, perfect for playing and everyday use.
Cheeeers!!
If i not root neo v i can play games like temple run ,need for speed, brothers in arms etc? ?

Yes you can. Even HD games, but expect lag during the game, since stock ROM are loaded with bloatwares which eats much of RAM, you may try to kill background apps to lessen the lag.
You can't overclock just by rooting... But you sure can play games better... After rooting remove bloatware... This will significantly lessen ram consumption...

Yes you can play HD games better on GB than ICS or JB without rooting!
GB offers more free RAM as compared to the others..
But in terms of looks, GB lags behind them big time!
But since you're into gaming stick to GB..

For removing bloatware, root your phone and install titanium backup or any file explorer that gives you root access, there you can delete or uninstall the system apps which you don't need!

Just search for Neo rooting on xda, you will find many guides here, and after rooting you can try APP QUARANTINE to freeze all bloatware, you can find it on google play > play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ramdroid.appquarantine&hl=en
or there are many debloated custom roms here too, do a search and study them, install the one you think will be best for your use!
hope i helped!

For a perfect Jb experience,we DO NEED 3.xx kernel
Or we would still have issues, in one way or another! With due to respect to all Jb Rom devs
And the devs are already working their arse off on it! Still no ETA! Hope they succeed! Then, comes the ram part! Till then,385 is the max possible we can make use of
