This is a partial aosp theme for touch wiz, from the DOMINATION theme. This has only been tried on MINT JELLY V2.1, this will theme your dialer along with some settings,it will also put black backgrounds on some apps and the dialer along with some pop up menus. This will not change any icons in your status bar that have been changed with NOTTACHS XPOSED app,I have taken those files out, although for this theme to work 100 percent you will have to change a build prop value, and this is only for att ,have not tested on anything else, but in changing the build prop value, NOTTACHS app will recognize your phone as a unsupported device, but everything that worked before still works,if you decide to flash this and change the prop DO NOT go to either of NOTTACHS threads with complaints, even know everything should be ok,it is on my phone. The lock screen rings are from KR3G3R with his permissions, for these to work you need stock lock screen with swipe lock and light effect on.PLEASE if you use this go thank and donate to VERTUMUS and KR3G3R, for this is there work i just modified the theme so it didnt break nottachs app,the rings i just added did not mod them.SO in order for this to work the following build prop change needs to be done unless you are ok with having the number 1 on the dialer white and everthing else blue.I am also not 100 percent sure what else this change can cause to happen but i havent found any as of yet,if anyone knows how to fix this with out this prop edit feel free to help or elaborate on why not make the change.I have asked permission to use both of these mods if anyone does not want this to be posted please feel free to delete,as i am just trying to help the s4 community. This will also give you aosp sounds ,clicks ,button press ect....
install instructions: 1) MAKE A BACKUP
2) make sure you have a way to change build prop.(i use rom tool box pro)
3) download attached .zip file
4) change build prop line RO.PRODUCT.NAME from jflteuc to jflteatt (there is a RO.PRODUCT.DEVICE already named jflteatt
so dont get confused and think yours is already,
5) reboot for the build prop change to take effect
6) boot to recovery(has worked with twrp, i use OUDhs CMW touch
7) flash .zip then reboot this zip will auto wipe cache and dalvik won't do any harm
8) done, check dialer should be all black background with blue numbers,if the #1 is white your prop did not change.you can
change the prop back at anytime and reboot, i highly suggest doing that if nottachs updates his app.
I also suggest not using XTHEME ENGINE untill you install this, if you have xtheme on, that will take precedence over this theme, after you install this and see what it does then you can mess with xtheme but your gonna run into issues with nottachs app with the system ui in xtheme.

UPDATE: Ok here is another link to the full theme everything will be themed, theres one catch at least on the MINT JELLY V2.1 you wont be able to access the power menu with the power button,it will cause a reboot witch isnt that bad you can think of it as a quick reboot, it has to do with the resources.arsc file, and you will still have to change the prop to get the full theme, and it still wont effect the status bar icons. So you will have the blue lock rings, all dark backrounds and pop ups, and almost everything themed ,and some people may not have a problem with this on other roms.Just make sure you thank the developers and donate to them please. The new file will be tw_aosp_theme_bluerings , just remember on MINT JELLY long pressing the power button will reboot.you can lock and unlock your phone with the power button still.

yea took me a lot of restores to figure out what would work and wouldn't, theres alot more to the theme but it breaks a lot, specially the power button, when i would press it,it would auto reboot witch was ok i could have dealed with that but there were some other lil things that were glitchy so i just narrowed it down to what it is now so all of nottachs stuff still works cause that the best mod out.

Djmouse...as requested, I am posting my results of flashing this on verizon galaxy s4. The blue rings on lock screen work great, but the dialer is the part I really want to work. It shows the blue, but the ugly white background remains. Screenshot attached.

I run Synergy rom, which is specifically for the Verizon S4.
I didn't do the build.prop edits since the post indicated that would only affect the color of the number 1.
So it's still the defaults for the verizon S4
ro.product.name jfltevzw
ro.product.device jfltevzw
I flashed the one that was up yesterday, not the newest one.
I didn't really look for black anywhere else besides the dialer.
The lock screen rings worked for sure as it was obvious right away after boot.
I already restored my nandroid backup so I'd have to flash it again to retest those other details.
I had tried the full domination theme a couple weeks ago and had the same white remaining in the dialer, so it's not something you changed causing the white to remain.

what build is that rom MEA or MDL this theme is made for MEA thats why it works with mint jelly, you wouldnt need to do build prop edits your number 1 is blue, your rom has the same props for both already.I dont know the verizon build prop i dont know if that actually right or wrong, us changing for att im pretty sure is wrong but it works, if you were on a MEA build im pretty sure it would work

Below I have a screenshot of the home page of my NookColor. I'm running CM9 with the Trebuchet launcher.
I like the layout with the apps icon in the top right, search icon top left, statusbar at the bottom with ICS soft buttons and no dock.
Somehow both Trebuchet and Nova launchers know if they are being installed on a tablet vs a phone. I would like to spoof the launcher to give me the Tablet UI on my phone and see if I like it.
Any clues of where the launchers determine which Ui to use? Build prop maybe?
There are tablet preferences in the frameworks apk.
In a XML file named Bools
res/values/bools.xml
I'm actually trying to get the soft buttons enabled on my phone without the other tablet options enabled but for some reason when I enable the soft buttons it also enables the tablet layout lol.
Tablet layout on the phone does look a bit different than the layout on the nook though.

Looking through the Nook CM9 rom there is no Frameworks.apk. there is a frameworks-res.apk but no /res/values in it. IDK......
^ You have to decompile framework-res.apk in order to see the values folder.

Thanks again.
The guide was in chinese or something so I couldn't figure what he did so I downloaded the CM9 version. It's a services.jar and build.prop. Pushed the services.jar alone but it didn't change, changed the lcd density to 160, no change. So I figured I'd try his NS build.prop unmodified and went into a bootloop. I guess I need to figure out what changes I need to make in my current build.prop.
Oh well..I'll probably hate it once it's on my phone anyway..lol
Got it to work by pushing the service.jar only and changing lcd density to 120 in vibrant build prop. everything is small, pics below is with font set to huge. Phone dialer fc's. you can make a call but not hangup or answer one (kinda makes phone useless lol). Here's some pics. Wish I could have it with a larger density.
Agree'd. Looks good, but higher lcd density would be nice. If you make any more headway with that and or the phone working properly, please post it.

I'm on AOKP today and tried out the mod. No go. it sets the density to 192(mod being for GN). tried 160, no go. Maybe I need to go down to 120 for the Vibrant.
Hey themers:
I'm just getting acquainted with making small modifications to the system and am currently working from a stock 4.0.4 LPL based ROM. I would like to implement a 50% translucent effect on the TW status bar.
I've decompiled SystemUI.apk many different ways - as a non-system app, an app w/ dependencies (both framework-res.apk and twframework-res.apk), I've recompiled without any issues at all and immediately de-compiled to make sure my changes "stick", and they do. I then throw them into a flashable zip, wipe cache/dalvik, flash the zip and fix permissions, no go.
I'm following a guide that was originally posted in the GS2 forum that instructs us to do the following:
1) SystemUI StatusBar.smali - locate the "...Landroid/view/WindowManager$LayoutParams;-><init>(IIIII)V" statement and change the const/v16 above it from "const/16 v16, 0x4" to "const/16 v16, -0x3".
2) Go to res > values > drawables.xml and edit "status_bar_background" hex to #7f000000 for 50% transparency.
This didn't work on its own, so on top of that I also tried implementing the same sort of change mentioned in #1 above on both the PhoneStatusBar and TabletStatusBar.smali files. Still no go. The system boots no problem, but just no change in the visual appearance of the status bar.
Does anyone have any ideas outside of this on what smali file or statement in the above files might control this feature? I'm still digging but didn't know if others had attempted this. Thanks to any and all who are willing to help. I don't need anyone to look at code for me, just a gentle shove in the right direction would be fantastic!
+1 for this.
I'd love to see this work.

You need to modify the "tw_" variants of the status bar definitions to see anything happen, TouchWiz UI does not use the regular assets/definitions.

No problem, I spent most of last night working out how to move the system bar from the bottom of the screen to the top using a decompiled SystemUI from the TouchWiz rom for the Galaxy Tab. You might find that even though you make the bar transparent that the area behind it is black anyway (it is for me at least using the official 4.0.4 rom) due to it assuming that the system bar is being rendered there. I'm yet to figure out how to manipulate the rest of the WindowManager environment to fix the issue.

Please note, I do not support this theme anymore. However if you want to use these files to make a better theme, knock yourself out. I did update the links as of 3/8/2014 since I had to move some files around.
This is a theme for Peetr_'s HybridGBv20 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24574176&postcount=1 , I tried to give it a ICS look as closely as possibly since we won't be getting the much needed updated as we were told we would get. This was themed off a Motorola Electrify "Lock" device and I am unsure what it will look/act like on a Lock/Unlock Photon. If you all want to go threw it like a fine comb, please do. If you notice something out of the oridary please post a screen shot and I will fix the issue. If it sucks, let me know since this is my 1st theme

Found one more. I was in facebook in settings going to turn off location services for the messenger app, and it was black on black there as well. I don't know anything about how these themes are programmed, but figured I'd let you know. If there's a correlation between this dialogue box and the one I originally posted maybe that will help out. Hello everyone... As the title says, I am looking to get rid of the black bar or make it transparent on the lock screen... I have tried a few thing and can not seem to get it... Is there any other method to try besides these here???...

Currently using Links #1 and #2 for the transparent bar, but does not work for the lock screen... I have attached 3 pics as to what happens when I use Link #3 for the status bar, although everything else seems to work... Link #4 does not work at all... I flashed the zip and once I reboot it stays on the splash screen... So I pulled the battery and used my back up to get it to boot again... Is there any way to get the Simplistic Framework to function with our Verizon Note 2 ( SCH-I605) ??? But most importantly eliminate this status bar on the lock screen or make transparent... Thank you for any help you can provide...:fingers-crossed:
So no one has any suggestions or know of something that works??? I am still looking and came across this link...

If you are on a TW ROM it won't work, it states in the first few lines of the OP it is only for AOSP Roms.
Also I believe the Xposed framework has an add on that allows what you're wanting.

If I did miss it then I apologize for my ignorance and would kindly ask you or anyone to please provide a link for me to achieve what I seek...
Once again thank you...

That is where a lot are located, there are more floating around on XDA and in fact there was a thread about this a few months ago and someone linked it. I'll see if I can find it later tonight.

I have yet to see a trans status bar on the lock screen. We use 3minit in our rom and it don't change it on the lock screen either.

I can't seem to find it but there is a conversation that was in Q&A a few months ago where someone asked if they wanted him to make a flashable zip and then he came back and said it was doable with Xposed and one of the plugins and gave the link to it. I wasn't able to find it last night but I'm going to look again tonight before I call it quits.

OK, from what I've found you need to install the Xposed framework and then install the Tweakbox, the only problem is the tweakbox I've found is for ICS. It may or may not work. That was the way I found to do it in the thread. I will keep looking because there is still one that I remember reading that I haven't found.
Here is a blog link that says it works for ICS and JB so hopefully it will work, this one explains it with pictures so it should be easy to do:
http://c9vipers.blogspot.com/2013/06/how-to-make-status-bar-transparent-like.html
Again, I will keep looking tonight but I am pretty sure the thread I am looking for said pretty much the same thing.
EDIT!!!!:
Here is the link I was looking for damnit!

Bummer!!! That link is probably the first thing I read to having a transparent bar... I also when ahead and used tweakbox... The only thing with that is, it does not make the LOCKSCREEN status bar TRANSPARENT nor does it REMOVE it... Wich is what I am looking for...
Either way, THANK YOU for taking the time out of your schedule to help me...
Now I would be willing to donate a few bucks at any one that can make this happen for me... Thanx...

Well that suck ass bad, it is supposed to remove it from both from what I understood but apparently it does not work. There were posts in that thread that said it didn't work either but there were some that said it did.
If I were you I would back everything up, via nandroid and back your apps up with Tibu, and flash Goodness. There may be other Roms that have it but the only one I know for certain that has it, without going and looking, is Goodness. There most likely won't be a mod made for stock if it hasn't already happened.
When we get official 4.2.2 then maybe, I believe the S4 comes with it stock so if we get the update soon ours most likely will too.

I will look into the Goodness Rom thanx... Once I seen the S4 with the transparent notification bar on the lockscreen I instantly wanted it on the note... I have been searching, but only found the tweakbox that gave it to me on the regular interface... So searched high and low for the option on the lockscreen and nothing...
So yeah, my offer still stands to any one that can make it happen for me...
Thanks for the help again...

Come to goodness and we will try our damndest to get that worked out for you and the rest of the users. Might take a bit, but we got one hell of a team over here. Just posted another rom for the vzw n2 also.
I asked about this before, and I've done some searching on the subject.
This method works, but only if you use live wallpapers.
Install one of the many home screen status bar transparency mods, then change the home+lockscreen wallpaper to any live wallpaper.
Voila!
I don't know how or why this works, but it does.
The only downside is, as soon as you stop using a live wallpaper, the status bar on the lock screen won't be transparent anymore.

Yes in deed you are correct... I guess I should of mentioned that earlier in my post... The thing with that is you can see the difference in the transparency... I am very particular in how I like things to look... I would much rather it be gone.. But thank you for pointing that out...
Let's hope some one takes this challenge before N3 comes out...
This thread is pretty old but I too was searching how to make that black bar go away. I am on the 4.3 stock rooted and xposed. I found a way to do this within 20 minutes of searching.
Install the Tinted status bar module for Xposed
2) open systemui.apk
3) select all activities and slide the bars all the way to the left for the navigation bar tint settings!
Enjoy!!
I would like to start this thread to help each other out.
Themeing the SG4 has been a challenge to say the least.
If we work together I believe we will be able to achieve much more.
Basically post your base that you are on, what .apk you are needing help with, maybe a screen shot to show.
Saved.
I'd like to start with the ME7 base SecContacts.apk.
I have been able to theme the Dialer to black background, but have had no luck with changing the SecContacts.apk background.
If anyone can help, or has any ideas, please let me know.
Thank you, all!
Welcome to theming Q&A..
I may be remembering incorrectly, but I think it is in the framework. It's something like tw-background light/dark. I'll double check when I get home to confirm.

I mean I don't suck or anything, I first started out themeing, but then I did my first smali MOD and was hooked.
I was on 7 HTC phone before coming to the SG3/SG4 so I haven't ever themed Samsung besides SG3 which was cake, but it was also using Bean's work as a base 99% his. I can do it I just don't enjoy it as much, as I am not as good.
I'll help anyway as well.
Hope can get the contacts bro. I really want to get the AOSP theme rocking. Maaybee you want to team up with me on it? who knows? that would be so sick.
Either way glad this thread will hopefully get some good use for people.

I think this is right but I learn as I go.
Frameworks drawable-sw360dp-xxhdpi /tw_background_holo_light.png
I'm gonna theme to darken dialer so if I can confirm I'll report.
Edit: that did change contacts/recents backround but not dialer.

Dialer background is in a different spot for what ever reason. Its in sec contacts apk under one of the layout files with "dialpad_fragment" in the name.

if you change the contacts_list_content.xml in SecContacts and add android:background(line 12) that will change that. The problem with changing the image in frameworks file, is if any other apps calls a system resource it will make it darkbackground with most likely black text... This screwing that up.
So then you gotta redo that app. so I prefer to make the app inverted all by iteself and not reply up backgrounds and such from framework if I can help it....
Just a different way of doing it.....

Sorry. long weekend. Wrong person you are correct..
FWIW both methods did the exact same changes..
im trying to change the background of secsettings.apk from black/white text to white/black text
i know the changes need to be made in secsettings.apk. Nothing in there references a framework file.
i changed devicedefault to devicedefault.light in /res/vaules/styles.xml with no luck
any advice?
