So, as the title says hardware problem and there are few things I want to know about. Have anyone got the problem about power button position on the inside is lower than the volume buttons? My bro and me got the same XU and never have problem except this one. My Xperia U has the lowest power button than my brother. If that's my phone's factory fault, can I repair it by disassemble it and settling the buttons back? I got no problem but I have to press hard for power button and there are no pressable home button to wake my device up. My problem is normal or not? Please answer me dear bros. Thanks.

If you have a guarantee, I'd recommend you take it to the store since its a factory problem. If you don't have a guarantee, there's some apps which let you use the volume buttons to turn the screen on. I don't know the names since I've never used one but I've seen it in here so you can use the search bar to look for them

They told me to wait for changing my handset dear bro. I'm waiting. Everything's went so bad. They told me that it wouldn't gets so wrong. But it's definitely sure that I have very stupid power button. You're right bro. I should have brought my brother handset, too. Now I'm in anxiety because it's only one week old. Now, I press so hard the power button and it annoys me. Anyway, I thank you so much for helping me out. Now I'll have to wait for answer.

hey guys, im trying to get a vibrant and found this guy who has a mint condition vibrant but the touch sensitive buttons dont work, the screen is perfectly working but the bottom buttons wont register the touch... some time they do but most of the time they dont... there is no water damage and he says that the phone has not been dropped so, wtf happened here? any software related thing going on here?
ill buy it if there is any way to fix it, maybe some of you have experienced this issue and have an answer?? thanks and please give me some advice
I've returned 2 vibrates because of the home button being haywire. From everything I've heard also, I'd advise you not to get the phone from this guy, its a hardware malfunction.

shyt man i have the same issue on mahh vibrant....ive tryy everythinq i cann and i couldnt get it working....
Someone it depends on the rom yiu install too. I had that problem when I bought mine from a guy at craigslist.. But when I installed axura or other rom, the home button worked flawlessly. I don't totaly agree that its "hardware issue" I think its on the software "roms"

Yes, I have searched the forum but only found old posts, nothing pertaining to ICS about this.
I've had this problem since 2.3, and it's kinda annoying.
When I press the unlock button it takes around 2sec for the phone to wake-up.
I thought this was supposed to be fixed in the verisons after 2.3, and now I have 4.0.3 and it's still present.
Anyone else have this problem?
Is it a Google or Samsung problem. Can it be remedied?

Yup

Well if you want, you could stop your phone going into deep sleep and have less battery life
Sent from my GT-I9100
Nah, don't wanna clock it up.
But is this a common problem or just some unfortunate people that have it?

I have same problem with any stock or custom rom and is verry annoying.
It's normal. I use CM 9 and I'll hit the home button on my sleeping phone now...and it took around 1 second to wake up.
There isn't anything you can do about it.
As Riz said last month, would you rather your phone deep sleep & conserve battery when you're not using it & take a second to wake up or would you rather have a permanent wakelock & resultant battery drain in order to have it wake up in a few tenths of a second ?
I mean, we are talking about a second here. Not half a minute or something.
Yay! You got a new sig!
It always makes me wonder what people expect with these threads....it's like when you wake a pc up - it isn't instantaneous...and is a second really too long to wait?
Yeah I couldn't resist ;-)
Yep you're right. People do expect too much sometimes, as you said, how long does a PC take to wake up from hibernation ? Phone takes no time in comparison.

hello all. I apologize for the stupid question but I do not know whether to send my galaxy for repair because my middle button works but comparing it with three other galaxy is different.
my question is: what it looks like the middle button is pressed?
1-soft with difficulty returning to its initial state,
2-soft,
3- hard,
4- very hard.
. And when you reach the button without pressing it, seems to move? Sorry for the many questions but I do not know if mine is damaged.
Sorry used google translate

I have 2 Galaxy S3 and both buttons are ,,2-soft''
They have a very very little movement which you cannot really see it.

It's kind of a normal wear&tear thing. When the device is brand new, the button sounds like a button, with that clacking sound. When you use it often (Like any normal XDA user would) the clacking sound goes away, it softens, and the feedback isn't as noticeable.
In my case, it's probably 2-3, because my device isn't that old (Got it about six to eight months ago..)
Hope I could help!

My xperia p home button is getting pressed backwards as well. Like if I rest my finger at the back of the home button then it gives feedback wtf? The home button works fine from the front as well. :S
There is no such problem with the back and menu key. What has gone wrong is it a hardware problem? Has anyone else experienced?
The xperia p is just over a month old and this problem only happened recently.

Actually seems like it can happen with any button. Just rub your finger at the back of the transparent strip and eventually a touch will be registered. I have a feeling this is not a hardware flaw but merely a ridiculous design flaw from Sony.
Can I please have more people who can try this? Maybe this was the way it is from the beginning and I just didn't notice it before as this phone hasn't been used much.

Doesnt happen at all for me bro

With me the phone get crazy only when i plug in the charger,
And It's really like Sony's floating touch. :d
I've had a similar problem, exept it wasn't similar at all. I had haptic feedback enabled on the softkeys, but when I pressed a key, it vibrated twice. Doesn't happen in cyanogenmod, though. Sorry if I'm offtopic or something like that, I just feel like typing something (and raising my postcount so that I could post in the development forums).

Interesting.
Anyways it also seems like it happens if you force pressure at the bottom of the phone. I am really let down by this seems like a horrible oversight by sony.

I had this problem, but reboot helped(press and hold both the volume up key and the power key for few seconds).
I have this problem from the beginning. In my phone back button is creqzy. Even if I try not to touch anything, it goes back. When I browse web sometimes it immediately presses 5 times, so im 5 pages back. Its getting worse when phone is warm. Never going to buy sony anymore.

I had to make an account just to reply to this when I was finding solutions on google. A bit late, but yes, i'm having the same problem too. I've only had it for a month as well and i'm starting to get really frustrated. The buttons on the transparent bar automatically 'responses' to itself. Don't know what's the problem. I can't lay my hand or hold it on the back of it either. It gets all 'spazzed' up.

Ya it does seem like a general problem with the xperia P, maybe some devices are more sensitive and some arent. I have just decided to live with it.

If there is no known solution, and you've already decided to live with it, why not buy a case for your xperia p? one that covers the back of the soft buttons. Without being able to touch it from the back, you won't have the problem again, and even forget about it.

I have just been careful these days and it doesnt always trigger the buttons from the back, its just very random. If the problem becomes impossible to live with then yes a cover is the solution.
Been with this phone for a couple of months and its still working fine...

I have two Xperia P (mine and my wife's). My wife has no problems with the phone. I have two months of use there was a problem with the key "Menu" (which is triggered randomly.) But I noticed that if you turn your phone off for a few days, the problem disappears temporarily. Maybe it's a hardware problem with overheating phone? (Sorry for my English, I used google translate )
---------- Post added at 12:49 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:56 AM ----------
Guys, I blocked "Menu" key and remap the "Focus" (short press on the "Camera") to the menu. So the problem is solved for me.
how did you remap it?
Because I have the same problemm since today.
Everything I tried results into nothing.
I just can't use the home button anymore.
That's really driving me crazy :silly:
Hi, I am Minori ^ _ ^
I have a Nexus 5 and volume down button is stuck/broken. Whenever I turn on my phone, it goes to Safe Mode because it thinks I am pressing power and volume down button all the time. I was wondering if anybody knows a way I can disable safe mode/secure boot so my phone can start in normal mode? The only solution I have found so far is so take it to get repaired however it costs too much to do so. If anybody has any brilliant ideas I would love to know :victory::victory::victory: and please excuse my poor English
