i'm having this prob on flashing wanamlite and neatrom latest rom. flashing is completed using cwm but when i'm goin to reboot it, it just stucked on bootanimation. i waited 20mins but still nothing happened. what could be the problem? i flashed the latest rootbox and i am able to boot no problem encountered.
Okay first of all - next time, loose the big font. I'm sure everyone who visits this forum can read totally fine.
Next, did you make a full wipe before flashing wanamlite or neatrom? (Wipe data/cache/dalvik cache)
Also after you've flashed any of the ROMs. If it gives you an option to reboot and no other option - do it. If there is an other alternative to go back to CWM - do that. Cause either way you should try to go back to CWM Recovery and from there, wipe cache and dalvik cache (again) and also set permissions. After you've done those things, reboot and it should work.
(i had same proble flashing Omega v23)
i did a clean install by philz and also the wipe data cache and dalvik but i don't go back to cwm to do that again and to fix permission, i just restarted it after installing the rom. thanks, i'll try to do what you said.

Hi Guy,
I got a BIIIGGG problem.
After doing some VERY quick research i decided to get started by rooting and installing VillainROM, which worked lovely...no probs, however because there was a lack of themes (the main reason i rom'd the phone), I was swayed to go for Cynogen.
After downloading CM7.1 and installing through CWM my phone will not boot.
I have tried to do a factory reset through CWM, wipe the cache, and reinstall VillainROM but to no effect and stupidly i didnt backup my data.
Any advice on what i can do or have I bricked my phone?
What does the screen show? Can you get into download mode or recovery? Have you tried flashing the rom twice? This worked for me in the past.
Ricey
yep i can get into recovery and download mode, but when i boot the phone no joy
Ive tried installing the rom several times
Try formatting /data, /cache and /system from CWM recovery before flashing the new ROM.
If that doesn't help flash a stock ROM from Intratech's thread in the dev section via Odin.
1st- Boot into recovery.
2nd- wipe data/factory reset
3rd- wipe cache
4th- go to advanced/ wipe dalvik cache
5th- go to mounts and storage - format/system
6th- go to install ROM from SD card - select the ROM you'd like
7th- reboot system DO NOT TOUCH MAY TAKE A WHILE
8th- let it sit for 10 minutes once its booted so all the cache can build back up
9th- reboot, set up, and enjoy!!
Hope this helps!
Enzopreme you are a legend many thanks indeed
Omg omg omg.. pleeeease someone help me.. I tired flashing a rom (phone already rooted and using cwm 5) for the fifth time and it's now stuck in startup on android (in white letters). I wiped system cache dalvik but nothing... what else could I try?
Which ROM are you using?
Try flashing again, and remember to read the instructions very carefully.
Wipe data/factory reset, wipe the cache (although that should be done when you factory reset) and the dalvik cache.
If it still fails, restore your previous backup (you did make one right? It's, like, almost necessary to backup your current ROM with CWM before doing anything, even if it's just wiping the dalvik cache. It's ESPECIALLY necessary to do one before flashing a ROM).
If all else fails, flash a new firmware using ODIN.
Thanks for the quick reply but I managed to fix it already.. I am awesome *big smiles*
You are awesome. Great job.
I recently rooted my phone using this tool: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1255548
I tried flashing MIUI and ICS after doing full wipes, but when rebooting the phone, it won't go mast the Motorola logo where it says "Unlocked." Is there a way to fix this?
wipe data/factory reset, cache, and dalvik in recovery

I always do that before I flash a rom. I've done it at least 5-6 times now as I try to reflash the roms.
Sorry, early morning brain fart!
What do you consider a full wipe?
How long are you leaving your phone rebooting after flashing the ROM on the initial first reboot?
You could try flashing a kernel after flashing the ROM. You shouldn't have to, but I would try flashing the appropriate kernel from Faux.
Try wiping cache and dalvic cache. After do a factory reset. Then flash the ROM twice! As in back to back without doing anything else.
Personally I would flash another Rom, Some like Nottach or Cm7.2 and see if it boots, if so then recharge the battery and then try fresh again doing the wipes like others have said.
I had issues before where my recovery wouldnt boot but reflash did and was able to redo things and all is well.
For MIUI you need a separate kernel I tried flashing before and was stuck too, then flashed a kernel and it worked (jokers v3 kernels work well)
I have just tried installing CM7 from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1257574
I made sure to do a wipe all data, cache, and dalvik cache. Then rebooted and waited for it go past the logo for 10-15 minutes (which it didn't).
This is the same process I go through for each rom, but it still doesn't work.
Hello!
I've been having really really weird problems with my phone and CWM.
Right now I have latest stable CM installed.
Today I decided to switch to ParanoidAndroid.
I got the right ROM, but I installed the wrong google apps the 4.2.2 one.
Now I get a crash when I try to use the keyboard so I decided to flash it again.
I went back into CWM.
Factory reset, deleted cache, wiped dalvik cache.
Installed the same .zip file I did the first time for Paranoid Android except I didn't install Google Apps.
I restart the phone and it doesn't seem to have flashed, it's the one with 4.2.2 GAPPS.
I've tried wiping it 3 times.
I decided to check internal storage on my phone and this is what I see.
I don't think it's supposed to look like this after I just did a factory reset. Right?

(I can't post links yet)
Right now I just want to hard reset my phone and install PA.
EDIT: I just Factory Reset, Wiped Cache and dalvik restarted my phone and I'm back to the PA ROM with GAPPS 4.2.2
via CWM
go to mounts & storage >> Format system
then
wipe data/factory reset
wipe dalvik cache
flash ROM
Flash Gapps
Flash Desired kernel (if any)
Reboot
everything should be Fine
And for next time I suggest you use philz recovery, it has a clean install options in wipe data/factory reset, it should help you
So I'm trying to clean flash a ROM and I want to wipe Cache, Dalvik, System and Data, but TWRP reboots every time and doesn't finish the wipe. And nothing gets wiped.
I tried only a cache + dalvik, but nada. Instant reboot to my home screen.
Tried TWRP 3.0.2.1 and 3.1.0.0 both, same issue.
Ideas?
Solved it. Went back to the May update via fastboot & rerooted + TWRP (latest). Done and dusted.

Same problem here. Any solution aside from flashing factory image?
