Compare Mega 6.3" and Tab Plus 7" - Samsung Galaxy Mega

Hi Guys
I'm thinking to get Mega 6.3" to replace my Tab Plus 7" reason being Mega 6.3" is more portable and screen size quite close to Tab Plus 7". But talking about screen size, the overall width of Tab Plus is 122.4mm and Mega is 88mm, and the width of the screen of Tab Plus is already 90mm which is wider than the overall width of the Mega , I wonder how wide is the width of the screen of the Mega and how is the web page viewing in portrait mode compare with Tab Plus ? Is the Mega browser’s font optimized in portrait mode and not too tiny when viewing full page ? Can anybody compare or has a screenshot of Mega’s browser view full page in portrait mode? Thanks.

I brought my 7" tab plus to the show room and compared it with Mega 6.3, although the Mega 6.3 screen is 0.7 " smaller then the 7" tab plus, but because of its HD display , the font on screen is much shaper then the tab plus. when viewing full screen web page, I can see the tiny words on Mega screen one arm length away but couldn't' see the 7" Tab plus wording at all. So my decision is clear.

I own both. And I use Opera browser on both.
The fonts are totally adjustable.
The Chrome and stock browsers, and I cannot get the word wrap to work.
But the opera does just perfect.
Now, I'm putting my 3100 up for sale because of the pocketability.
Good luck
Ps........ I'm sorry. I have the 7" tab2 gt-3100

[Q] Difference between a 9.4 inch screen and a 10.1 inch screen?

I know this sounds like quite a simple question with an obvious answer, but numbers alone can't really give you a proper idea of what the screen size will be like. Sony Tablet S has a slightly smaller screen than other tablets, and at the moment it's stopping me from making a purchase. Is it noticeably smaller than a 10.1 inch screen? Does the slightly smaller screen make much of a difference when web browsing or editing Word docs or viewing PDFs? And is it much of a step up from the 8 inch screen?
Also, if anyone can suggest a 10.1 inch tablet that meets my needs (3G, USB host on board, priced competitively!), that would be great. The Sony Tablet S is currently £386.56 on Amazon.co.uk, just to give an idea of what price range I am looking at, and I was also considering the Acer Iconia A501 but I'm not so sure that the screen is as good as the Sony tablet's, from what I recall.

Pixel Density: 160 vs 132 - Small or big difference??

Hi guys,
I currently have a 9.7 inch ICS tablet which has a pixel density of 132, just like ipad 1 & 2. I thought it was not that bad until I got a phone with pretty high ppi (HTC One V), and now it suddenly makes my tablet look so cheap when I look at it. So I would like a tablet with higher ppi, and I thought how about an 8 inch tablet with 1024 x 768 resolution? So I tried the ppi calculation online, and it gave me 160. are 160ppi and 132 ppi a big difference in text sharpness? Currently, on my 9.7 tablet, even the blue digital clock in the status bar is somewhat pixelated.
Also I like to use 4:3 tablet in a portrait mode only, so when I'm web browsing with my 9.7 inch tablet in portrait mode, some small texts are kind of readable, BUT uncomfortably... like you can go on Yahoo desktop website in portrait mode, and try to make out the smallest text in that website, and it's kind of garbled looking. So I was wondering, IF PPI is higher, EVEN THOUGH the screen is smaller, will that make the texts sharper for the same webpages? If I had both 8 inch and 9.7 tablets, I could test it out, but I don't, so I need expert's knowledge..
Also, 8 inch tablet is cheaper and lighter than 9.7 or 10.1 tablets so I am considering this option more now.
Please answer my questions above!
Thank you.
Don't get too star struck, htc devices are meant to beautiful and only other htc devices can give you that premium look and feel, ( no company tops htc in the beauty department). My htc sensation resolution is 540×960 and has a 256 pixel density and 240 dpi. It come down to the quality of your tablet, by increasing your dpi (almost like zooming in) you will see more pixels (BAD!), but you will see the difference is you increase the ppi, however it depends on your display. Right now the top android phones (htc one s/v and sgs2 & 3 and etc) have better displays than tablets and those 7 to 8 inch tablets aren't recommended also. They are build to be budget friendly and the display quality won't be too good either. Maybe you should get a better android tablet (asus transformer prime the BEST) or iPad+Retina Display= Big Smile

[Q] Just a question form ppi ..

i I was searching for my soon coming galaxy s3 and i found out that S3 have only 306 ppi but that old school google nexus have 326 (just like ratena display 327ppi) so my question is DO you fells like you watching PIXALS in your screen (because well my eyesight is better then good )...
And is S3 in real have HD screen ????
No, but if ypu look very close (1.5) you will pattern on white colors

Should I upgrade from a Samsung Tab S 10.5 to a Tab S3?

Nothing's really wrong with my current tablet, I was wondering if the screen was noticeably better or the S-Pen made a big difference.
I have an Tab S1 10.5" myself and i use it mostly for watching my Anime video`s so the S2 and S3 are not of interest to me.
The S1 was best for Video because of the 16:10 aspect ratio, also it had a rgb-stripe screen and the dpi higher than the S2 and S3 have a 4:3 aspect ratio and a cheaper pentile display, so you would have large black boarders at the top and bottom of the screen, though the S2 and S3 is better for browsing and art and writing, also the S3 might be better for audio as it has 4 speakers.
Below is a link to a comparison of the specs between the S1, S2 and S3

I cannot comment on S3 colour accuracy and the new hdr mode, but it`s supposed to look great.
If anybody want to know about rgb-stripe and pentile pixel patterns.

I just did the same, and I jumped from the Tab S1 (wifi) to S3 (lte) and honestly the only benefit you get is better frame rates in some heavy/demanding games.
I mainly got the S3 because I wanted a tablet with LTE, and after the amazing S1 screen, I couldn't get any less than the S3.
So the answer is no, don't spend you money unless you want something very specific (like in my case).

The screen is much brighter on the s3. As someone said it is smaller.
Your battery is wearing out too. But I think the 10.5 had a better battery life.

Display Comparison Tab S5e and Tab S6

I have a Tab S3 right now, and I'm considering upgrading it to either S5e or S6.
All I care for is the display quality for watching movies and HDR content. I have read that they both have same screen, but S6 has HDR10+ certification? Can anyone confirm the difference between nits?
I have the Galaxy Tab S6 WiFi now 1 day.
One thing I saw is that compared to my Tab S4 the display of the S6 is a little less bright even with full HDR in use the S4 display is a bit brighter.
Testet it with a YouTube Video 1440p HDR10 in both Tabs at the same time.
So if you go just for the display then I would say don't upgrade from the Tab S4.
Edit: I can confirm that the Tab S4 and the Tab S6 have more nits then the Tab S3. But the king is still the Tab S4 on that..
I have s6 one day, before had s5e few months.
New tab has only 2 screen profiles compared to Samsung classic 4 modes.
Subjectivity, natural mode is excellent white balanced and calibrated. Beter then s5e which goes to red white. S4 I never owned and s3 was maybe best calibrated. S2 9.7 also was good. Subjectivity.
Of course, measurements must say that.
Sharpness is superb, maybe little better then s5e, but very similar screens.
Unfortunately, I sold s5e before got this. Direct compare would say all.
Someone will post that probably on YouTube
Just to make you aware that not all display you'll get be the same. The guy who mentioned his S4 having a brighter screen might just have a bad batch screen. Plus he's not using anything to accurately measure it. My S6 comes today, so I'll see how it is.
