Just curious to know what keyboard you guys all use?
I use SwiftKey.
Swiftkey
Maybe would have been better with a poll.
Stock Android Gingerbread keyboard, the "Samsung" keyboard is a joke compared to the stock experience. Sometimes Swype, but not usually.
stock ginger keyboard here.
The awesome thing that is Swiftkey, of course !
Stock Samsung.
Swiftkey
10 Characters
SwiftKey all the way.
Tried a few and I have finally settled on SwiftKey, I used a Desire Z for 4 months so its gonna take some time getting used to a virtual keyboard again but the extra width and bigger keys is a huge help.

By the way millions of regular users use what is selected by default which means samsung keypad or swype.

I'm using the HTC_IME mod for the Desire. Used it for months and I prefer it to the installed keyboards.

How did you get this working, I tried just copying the one over from my old HD2 mod but then cancelled when it said touch input will replace system settings or something along those lines and now get force closes even though I've removed it. Can this work alongside the other keyboards or do you have to replace? If replace, how can I backup the standard please?
Sorry for all the questions and thanks.

The HTC MOD one is really good, i used it with my Galaxy S. you need this version (which i am using): .
Just a little test for the various keyboards out there, over the many months since i first got my first Galaxy s, i have tried many many different keyboards and none, except the HTC MOD one, would allow you to enter anything into the drop down 'search this thread' box on xda's full site which i always found strange, granted, you have to be in landscape and it takes a couple of touches of the box to allow you type anything, but no other keyboard i have tried will allow you to do this! I challenge anyone to find a keyboard that does.
All of you using the Swiftkey or Smartkeyboard....
I tried using both. But in the email composition application neither of those keyboards shows word suggestions...i.e. in Swift key the word prediction bar appears in all apps except email compose mode. In Smartkeyboard, the word suggestions appear in all apps except in email compose mode.
Am I the only one facing this issue???
Please help. Because of the above I am having to live with the default Samsung Keyboard.
Thanks so much for the HTC keyboard link. The stock keyboard is very frustrating. I'd tried lots of others but all had their problems. This has improved my phone tremendously!
Hi has anyone got the HTC ime keyboard to work on the gs2? I've tried like 5 different apks and even enabled the keyboard in the settings and whenever i try open it it says unable to open or basically force closes. Maybe our bigger screen and resolution doesn't support it?

Google gimpsta and click the second link.
You can design your own there, works perfectly.
Choose High Res when you do it.
It's not free, but SwiftKey X (available on the Market) has a light theme that looks just like the HTC keyboard, and you can turn arrow keys on and off. That aside, it's a BRILLIANT keyboard and the predictive text is second to none.
What makes this HTC keyboard so special, does it have better character spacing?
Hi everyone.
I was wondering if some one can help me with this problem that has been driving me nuts.
I am currently using the international version of the Samsung galaxy s3.
I am trying to find out how to get Chinese language to work when I type on this phone.
I had went to Settings>>Language and input>> Samsung Keyboard and had ticked on Chinese.
Although this allows me to type chinese, it is in the format of qwerty American alphabet keyboard. Is there a way to officially use default keyboard and non 3rd party applications to have the keyboard display chinese characters?
I am aware that there are 3rd party applications that do this and display chinese characters, but I prefer to use the default samsung keyboard with the swype ability.
I know the iPhone has this capability but not the s3 and I am a bit disappointed in this. I may have to give up on using the samsung s3 because of this problem.
Swipe the space bar to toggle chinese. Swipe again to go back eng

thanks for the reply but I don't think you understood my problem.
I am aware of how to type and that it allows me to type in chinese when inputting chinese language in my default samsung keyboard settings.
however when the chinese language is selected by swiping the keyboard like you stated, it does not display chinese characters.
it displays the default QWERT american alphabet.
I had preferred that it displayed the chinese characters instead of abc's.
I know there are 3rd party applications that make the keyboard display chinese characters, but it is not a default samsung keyboard and will
restrict you into using their programmed keyboard only. this is a pain since it is inferior compared to the default keyboard in my opinion.
i had preferred using the default keyboard.
Hi, just got M8. Despite rumours of scrolling wallpaper, it doesn't have it.
More annoying is that no third party launchers (Nova ADW etc) will scroll on this handset.
The on screen buttons take up a lot of room, any way to slim them down in size?
Don't want to send it back, but I'm thinking about it.
Umm does for me..did you set it up correctly ?

install xposed framework & gravity box for kit kat in the exposed installer app.
activate pie controls and set them up via gravity box. make sure to activate extended display and select mode to hide nav bar
*you need to be unlocked and rooted to do this*
this will get rid of the nav bar completely
What keyboards have a clipboard feature like the stock note. I found touchpal does. But it has ads that pop up and one is a add on the lock screen when it awakes. I'd buy it if it came ad free.

AFAIK. Samsung Clipboard UI service is always available with other 3rd party keyboards as well. It shows up with long press on any text field. I'm using it with Chrooma Keyboard (see attached).
