agreed............the HTC one is one hell of a phone but still it doesnt have an external sdcard soo that makes the SGS4 on tiop of them all
Was scared it might feel cheap. I doesn't, just light compaired to my incredible 2. But I will put a case on this one because unlike my inc 2 it doesn't have soft raised edges.
So far it's great, recommended this to anyone!

The only issue so fat is with the smart case I got from Verizon. It feels a bit awkward to hold with the top flipped back and doesn't really stay all the way down when closed. Also the keyboard not choosing the correctly spelled word when you hit space had become annoying.

Ive purchased swiftkey in the past and love it so I will most likely be switching to that. However, the only thing holding me back is that the numbers are always at the top of the keyboard with the stock keyboard which I actually really like.

I'm really battling weather or not I should root it. Would I lose all the cool smart features of the gs4 by choosing an aosp rom?
My gnex's radios stopped working and I can't help but think that's it is because I rooted the phone. So I'm a little afraid to root now. I just don't like the color scheme. It's too kid-like.

I remember you from the gnex threads and imo, it's only a matter of time before you root it... ...you might have to let go of the aosp idea for a rom on this phone for right now tho. I really don't see too much out there right now. Plus I'm really liking the tw! It's a nice change from aosp. It's not as bad as I remember on this phone, especially with some of the cool roms that are out for it...

I want the gestures gone and all other IMO bloat. As long as I get S3 stock like function, I will be happy. Now I just need Verizon to release a 32 model.
I'm loving the phone besides a hint of lag, especially when typing (either SwiftKey or Google Keyboard) - lag I didn't have on my DNA. I am on the fence of rooting, as I've never done it, even though this is like my 10th Android device.

Note that ^^ that number is an average out of 10 tests. I know these tests arent very accurate, but theres a big difference between 760 and 56
The reason I am posting this here was because this app is buried very deep in an old thread, and located nowhere else. So the only way people would find it would be if they knew it was there.
I'll start off by saying that there is much speculation as to whether or not this app actually works (even by the developer). However, it poses no threat to your phone either way.
I decided to post it because I used it for the first time and it seems to have worked for me in avoiding being throttled.
It's a very simple process:
1. Install the app.
2. Immediately open the app and press "reset throttle"
3. Reboot
4. Hope you dont get throttled!
*i would recommend doing this at the BEGINNING of every pay cycle*
It's been said that this should be done BEFORE being throttled, so I do it at the beginning of every pay cycle as a preemptive strike. I've had it on my phone for about 4 months, but have never used 5gb, so I had no idea if it would work.
This month was the first time I've gone over the 5gb limit since downloading this app. I received the "you've been throttled" text message, but my speeds havnt slowed.
Anyways, thats about it. Remember, THERE IS NO GUARANTEE THIS WILL WORK, BUT THERE'S ABSOLUTELY NO HARM IN TRYING. I was skeptical, but I finally got results so I wanted to share with everyone.
UPDATE 09/13/11: So based on feedback from members in this thread, and the fact that I have been throttled the last two months in a row while ussing this app...i think its safe to say that this is not a method to avoid throttling. As you can see above from my screenshots, i had good reason to believe that it was, however I guess I mustve gotten lucky that month and dodged the throttle bullet.
I will leave this thread open, with the download link, just in case any developers ever feel like messing with it to see if they can get something going. Until then, happy data-ing, and down with throttling!
Download: http://db.tt/tXxhobt
Post feedback if it helps or not.
Sent from my pocket rocket!!
Rarely do you get throttled right away.especially if you have been with tmo for a long time, they throttle you at 10 gbs. there is no way or if throttling unfortunately. I didn't get throttled until 10 gb.

Excellent find TS
Guys, i said it twice in the OP.....theres no guarantee it will work. if youre skeptical, hit the back button on your browser.
just remember, i didnt just dig this app out and post it before seeing if it worked.
it happened to work for me. if i find a solution to being throttled, youre damn right im gonna post it for everyone to try......because the whole throttling/"unlimited data" is horse****
will it always work for me? i dont know. will it work for everyone else? i dont know. should people who have throttle problems try a possible solution, especially if its harmless and could work? absolutely.
updated OP with screenshots, to prove that it worked for me

Okay.......you can look up "Idiot" in the dictionary and you'll find my picture.
TMO throttled me back when I hit 5.03gb. And I didn't even realize that was what happened. I tried everything to speed things up again but nothing worked. So then I just figured it was really busy on the internet. I then check my account and saw the red letters. Anyways......I downloaded the app and proceeded as instructed. The first thing I did was a speed test. Results = 72.3 Kbps. I do not care what anyone says.....IT DOES NOT WORK!
Is it just me who notices that the evo doesn't really multi task well? When ever I jump back to an app using the recent apps button the app reloads or refreshes. For example I'm playing a game, pause the game, shoot a few texts, check my email, come back to the game and it restarts. Bte I'm not rooted and have just installed the latest update. Thank you much.

Can't speak for sense 4.1, but 4.0 butchered multi tasking. It greatly limits the amount of simultaneous processes running in the background. I could not go back to sense at this point.

There are already a few threads about this, also from the Q&A sticky at the top of this very forum:
Racer Of All said:
Q: Multitasking does not work like in previous phones, why?
A: Pretty much the phone kills applications off relatively quickly. Most ROMs have addressed this issue and you should receive better multitasking while running them. If you do not want to run a ROM a fix some people found is to go into settings> developer options scroll to the bottom and select "At most 4 processes" under Background process limit.

So no, there's no real fix for sense based ROMs. Most of the ROMs help alleviate this issue but none outright fix it. HTC also claims that this is their intended behavior and that there is no issue with multitasking, so don't expect an official fix from them.
AOSP or CM10 is your only current option.

Sounds like the developer option/fix will drain battery. Do you guys know if the sg3 multi-task better than the evo? I just picked up the phone and still experimenting on it. If all goes well ill keep the phone. So far I like everything. To me, the cons are battery and multitasking.
Otherwise everything else is great.

The phone will outlive the battery. I've had my og evo for 2.5 years. The oem battery doesn't last more than 4 hours anymore. Thank goodness for the gorilla battery, it made my og evo last longer and feel new again. Otherwise I woulda jumped on the 3d or design. Glad I didn't.

I'm done with LG, I know AT&T probably has more to do with the update not coming out, but I gave them a chance and that's it for me. I will give my son this phone and take his upgrade and follow this forum to flash a little here and there for him. This is utter nonsense not to even have a stock 4.1.2 yet. And yet they keep rolling out devices. Total BS!! and before anyone says we do have 4.1.2 , I Know, but the premise of this rant is that devs could make better and more stable builds off of a stock release. Rant off.
Agreed. This phone is getting treated like garbage for no reason. At this rate, people on contract will have jellybean on this phone for maybe just a year, that's if we ever get an official release (not including snowjb, which I'm using now). I've never liked at&t.

We shouldn't HAVE to..... That's the issue
While I'm not for or against it since I feel what people do with their phones is their business, I do feel like we shouldn't have to turn our phone into another phone in order to make the best of it. We bought the OG because we wanted an OG (at least most of us).
I feel like the N4 conversion is more of a bandaid that's just covering the real issue.
Basically, step up your game LG/AT&T/whoever the hell else is responsible for us being on old software with a brand new phone

In that case I've yet to hit the "some point." However, I've been running the CM10.1 rom for the conversion with the custom faux kernel in an entirely LTE area, and have gone without a single dropped call, random reboot, lost gps, or anything for multiple weeks now (2 or 3 I think?). I'm normally a flashaholic, but this is more of a daily driver for me than snowjb was (with the random reboots).
I think T mobile are doing what they did with the G2X. The g2X is the cousin of the Optimus 2X. Only different was the partition layout. It seems on this one they are doing a complete overhaul, with the LGOG.

Same here. GPS works fine for me on the Nexus 4 conversion, using dvhexer's ROM.
On topic: The specs are amazing, but that SoC will probably set your hand on fire while playing intensive games. This phone is great, it's a shame to see it being pushed away so quick.

Installed fine here
how is awesome note?
Little bit of a learning curve but so far it's pretty damn cool. Took me forever to figure out how to take a picture. Landscape mode is generally best. Otherwise things can be quite small. I'll need more time with it though because there is a lot going on in this app.
I have tried 3 times over wifi and with wifi off I give up

App is robust.
There are however barely any options making this almost not usable for me. Unless I'm missing something completely? Tasks don't show up when I create them until the date they are due.
Facebook home is set to come out next week. Anyone jumping at the walls to get it?

No
I am going to personally stay away from it. Facebook should stick to what its good at, social networking. Reminds me of when singers try to act .

Exactly what is it? I saw the site pushing HTC but... It's a Launcher? Piece of trash (more likely)?
Sent from my VZW Galaxy Note ll. I like my Beans Mean....v1.08 =D
I'm sure I work play around with it, but don't use Facebook enough to make it my launcher. Not sure why y'all are bashing it, everyone that had reviewed it says that it works well and is very polished. It's just not for the tech crowd

If it works very well/very polished, don't see why you'd say that then. I don't know anyone who doesn't use fb, techies included.
If XDA made a launcher, I wouldn't use it most likely either unless it had more options than the current launchers on the market. I sure as hell wouldn't go around saying this launcher is just for the techies though.
I don't see the harm in trying it out. I backed the Chameleon launcher and used it for awhile on my nexus 7. Then I tried it for awhile on my N2 when it came available. I'm not currently using it on either, but I don't see any harm in trying it out.

I agree. At least take a look and see what the competition is up to!
Most of you are replying about the launcher, where as I see his question is : "Anyone going to get the home?" meaning the phone itself.
To my answer.. No.
Actually, the phone is the HTC First which comes with Facebook Home pre-installed. I will not get the phone, but will try FB Home.

I'll give this a pass. I'm not big on Facebook.

Neither do I, but maybe, just maybe, something like this will draw me in. Probably not, but maybe.
But, then again, we aren't their target audience.
