[Q] Lose horizontal gray bar - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is it possible to remove the standard gray bar above your icons on the bottom of the home screen? In case it matters: I'm using Paranoid Android 3+ version 3.60 (latest) on my Galaxy S3 I9300.

use a different launcher

Read theming guides , on how to theme your phone , here on xda , i think you can change the gray bar to any colour want , by changing the respective picture in drawable folder (but you ll have to edit the picture to be the same resolution and size as the original picture ) ..! Good Luck .
P.S : if u just want to do it in an easier way , do what Glebun said and use a different launcher !

Thanks for the tips guys. I know a different launcher will do the trick. But I prefer learning above easy workarounds^^ So time to dive in the books and learn theming.

There are 2 things I want to change, and it will not let me run any type of framework from metamorph to theme the top status icons..
I am wanting to change the top icons to where the usb icon looks like a little flash drive thats blue, the battery is round that is blue(as it dies, it also changes to red color/orange), the 3g icon is a round circle that says 3g. There is a theme that has all of this in it, and when I try to run it, it forces my phone to reboot..any help?

If you check the heroc forums you'll find a good bit of stuff. Just make sure its based on the latest Sprint leak. I've tried several and they work. If you want a specific look there's a wealth of how to's over there regarding .9 pngs editing, hex editing etc. Happy hunting also the themers over there are very helpful and quick to respond.e
Could you post me a link to the ones you have tried?

[Q] Decompile and Identify the Issue with ADW.MIUI

Hi Thr ,,
I am the bottom pit when it comes to Android coding as such .....But i am in desperate help and need ur guidence ,,,,
I recently purchased the Galaxy Note and was using the SGS2 before that ,,
A launcher called MIUI.ADW launcher (https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...her.miui&hl=en) was my full time daily launcher with SGS2 but since i started using it on the Note , i see that all the icons on home as well as app drawer are coming way small .It's not settings back so i cannot fix this just by changing the settings/preferences..
and i have so decided to do something about this since the developer is not keen in making changes to it ,,,,
I am wanting to fix this myself to use the launcher on its full glory .....ofcourse i cannot and should not distribute the changed code without the developer's permissions...i just wanted to know from you (pointers if any) as to where in the code should i be looking to fix this issue with icon size?
Attached is an image of what i am talking about....I need help understanding how to increase the icon size of all the icons .....
Thanks....

[MOD][THEME][CYANMOBILE][CM7] Jelly Bean inspired Theme

Hi!
I made a Jelly Bean inspired Theme for the new rom: CyanMobile eXperience [2.3.8][MB526]
Instructions:
- download the file
- copy to your SD Card
- install it with File Manager
- go to ThemeChooser, and apply
- ignore the warning, apply anyway
- REBOOT!!!
- after that, just use Your Phone!
If You find some bugs, errors or something, just report me here in post, or send me a private message! If You can, make a screenshot, so it is easier to find, what is the problem!
There are two different files, one for CyanMobile Experience, and one for "pure" CM7.
If You use some of CM7 version, than download: JBT v1.2
If You use CyanMobile Experience, than download: JBTEX v1.1
Here are a lot of screenshot for CM7 version and here for CyanMobile !
If You have any question, suggestion, support, or anything else, just find the way to do it!
hi,
it looks really nice but the system ui stat icons for off (e.x.com_android_systemui_stat_2g3g_off.png) are to dark, i can see it on the status bar is it possible to make it brighter?
the signal png never go blue and i have a H connection.
i use the maniac cm7 rom.
thnaks for your work
smoky
I updated the Theme, You can download here: JBT v1.1
Now the power widget OFF color is the same, as the icons on the statusbar. It is more visible on Sunshine
Edit: At ThemeChooser, it's no preview screen. It's a windows bug.
Edit_2: The H connection problem: I don't know, what is the problem, I tryed it now, and at me everything looks good. Anyone else, who has the problem, that the signal bars don't go blue? (see attached file below)
plzz....support mdpi
thanks
MDPI
It's difficult, to support MDPI size. I made this theme for my Defy, an it's HDPI, so the theme is also HDPI ONLY!
And why? Because when I change something, I can verify that looks good, it fits, the color or something is good or not.
Unfortunately I don't have any phone with mdpi screen, so I can't test. That is the reason for HDPI only.
Hi there, I'm using it on my Defy+ (with CMX) atm, and I love it.
Thank you
I have, one simple question thou. I happen to have a little bit diffrent color (cyan) than the one your screenshoot (lightblue).
All I found was how to change color of diffrent items, or global font color, but...
Is there easy way to change the whole color setup so it would look exactly like on the screenshoot? Oh, and btw, may I know the hex code for that lightblue color of yours?

Hi!
Ideally the color change automatically, but in CMX I find this bug too, but for me was just the lockscreen, what doesn't changed the color. If You go to Settings (I use now euroskank, so sorry, if I don't remember exactly where You sould go), CyanMobile Settings - Interface tweaks - Status bar tweaks - here You find a lot of "xyz color" , and the hex code is the right color ( ff33b5e5 ), just the system can't change. Just choose the option, that you want to change the color, then pick in the middle of the color circle, and it will be change!
The colors, what I used, is the same as find HERE, but what You looking for is: 33b5e5 !
Thanks, looks great
Great theme, could you change the color text of the "state" of the sms? I mean, Sent at 13:28, because I use the black wallpaper in mms.apk, and the color text is black, so I can't see it, im using CM7, thanks.
Thanks for reporting, I changed the color to blue. The new version have some minor updates too.
Download:
JBT v1.2
JBTEX v1.1
I changed the files in the first post too.

nice.

Change the color for incoming notification. Blue on black is hard to read.

[Q] Change Text Color in Buttons

How could I be able to change text color in buttons?
From the image, I tried changing the boxed text from '<item name="textColor">@color/primary_text_holo_light</item>', and creating my own drawable xml file to link it with that. Color change seems successful, but it also affects other holo white buttons as well (see image). I don't want it to happen, for it renders those buttons unreadable. Can you help me with this one? Thanks in advance!
BTW I am currently using Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.

cant you just set root explorer to use default device settings?
then use xblast tools from the xposed framework to change default system text colors.
Thanks for the help, but I found a solution. I tried to find a more specific string, and it worked! I was planning to theme this framework, and use it for my first Custom ROM, a clean one without any 3rd party app to change styles. Thanks again!

Samsung Galaxy Alpha, Lock Screen Bug?

This is my first post here and I'll admit I'm not an XDA developer. I'm hoping someone could help fix my "bug" (#1 below). All three things below reference the lock screen and making the date & time more readable on it. The same issues might apply to Samsung Galaxy phones in general. I sent the below to Samsung, but I'm not holding my breath for them to reply.
My specs:
Samsung Galaxy Alpha SM-G850W. Running Android 5.0.2
1. If you change the clock size to Large on the Lock Scren. The clock size will not stay large if you have any notifications, it will reset to a normal sized font.
2. The color of the clock can't be changed, there needs to be a large black outline around the existing white text (currently it's a small black shadow). Since lollipop shows album art on the lock screen, you may get a pure white background and the clock nearly disappears.
3. The size of the date can't be enlarged. #2 also applies to the date.
I am willing to root with a new lock screen if that's necessary to fix but I'm not sure where to find info on available lock screens, I don't want to use the wrong one and break the phone. btw, I wasn't able to find a lock screen app as none that I tested had the features and speed of the default lock screen.
Thanks for any help.

I don't know about any lockscreen app that has all those things you need, but you can mod your stock lockscreen to get it all, but it contains some risk and of course some programming experience ( mostly smali and Java)

Thanks sdeepb. I'm pretty sure this is the only way to go, unless there's a pre-built lock screen you can easily swap out for rooted phones.
