if u really need that ...install home2shortcut and download the zip file below and extract it...then paste the file in system/usr/keylayout/ using any explorer change permission rw-r--r--...open home2shortcut and choose the music app in step 1/other key settings/search key's long press.....then longpress the walkman key choose home2shortcut as default...

No you can not use the extended kernel as it is for 4.x and this rom is based on CM7 which is GB (2.3.x).

Use Rage kernel 2.9 for cm7.
