[Q] How to replace CWM with TWRP - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

For the first time I have successfully rooted my phone (SGH-i717D) using Odin and CWM using Max's instructions at rootgalaxynote.com, but I have not flashed the rom yet and still have the stock Telus JB. The trouble is that both devs of the roms I want to try recommend using TWRP 2.5 but I have CWM installed. I tried simply installing GooManager with CWM still present but if I open it I get the CWM screen. How do I remove CWM and install TWRP if I already have the stock rom installed?
Thanks.

You can either flash the twrp zip from cwm recovery, or use odin and install it. It should remove cwm and leave twrp.
Choose your method and download accordingly

Thanks. I downloaded and flashed the zip. Easy as pie.
Next pint is on me.

How will he collect that?
Don't quote, reply. If you quote, edit.

You can't email beer?!

If you could the USPS would be making a profit.

I see. is there a possibility for me to upgrade it? if its possible, do you have a recommended Hboot or a thread I can read about it? I have been running to other problems as well when I was trying to get the rom up and running to be honest... I guess it could be related.

hey guys, just to give you an update - I checked out both of your suggestions. for the upgrade of the HBOOT I could not locate a version for my own CID. I did however go with the suggestion to work with ICS recovery and ICS rom to load up. This is what I did:
1) while in the JB rom, I flashed ICS TWRP recovery
2) then, according to ShadowX suggestions, I first loaded up the boot installer from the computer while in Fastboot mode
3) wiped Data and Cache
4) flashed the Rom. apparently it has Busybox within the installer
Now, so far so good. I took off the battery and it still loaded up fine. Thanks so much for your responses!

after flashing by "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img", boot into recovery directly by giving this cmd "fastboot boot recovery.img" this time it should overwrite your stock op recovery. try this and report back.
I'm assuming your trying to immediately boot into recovery after flashing because it will overwrite it. You can try the command "fastboot erase recovery" before flashing twrp. After flashing recovery completely turn off the phone. Then hold down volume down and proceed powering on into recovery. Sorry for the step by step if your not a noob just have to make sure we cover step by step. The above post is the proper way to boot after flashing try it first.

Its not a bug anymore since it takes few secs to enter into recovery mode. Black screen issue not at all. since you have a working twrp in your device. if theirs a black screen issue you will be on default recovery.
will fix the language bug soon.

That is because this section of xda is for the moto e4 plus, not the e4
the moto e4 already have twrp and to many roms on development
