Hi, I recently flashed JB V20A kdz from Telcel into my P768. After that, I tried to unlock the bootloader with this kdz, but it didn't work (then i read that i needed an unlockable kdz, which is the one that im trying to install nowI). Now im getting this "security error". I tried flashing with the unlockable V20A EUROPE OPEN, but Im getting this error: "The USB and your cellphone are not conected. Please conect your phone and wait for conecting the USB port for a while and press the "Restart" button."

I don't know what to do. I know that there is a way to force the update but the tutorials I found are very difficult to follow.

But then i wasn't able to enter the s/w upgrade mode!!!! after a while it entered in s/w mode, but as people say in my country i "cuted nails with my ass (literal translation)" now LG s/w update is working. I don't think i will have any more problems from now on, I really appreciate your help and im willing to donate to you, if you have a paypal account, at least let me buy you a beer !:good:

Idk if this is a brick or not.
Last night I decided to restore to my stock recovery because I felt I didn't want root anymore. Restored and unrooted. Then I was told there was a software update for the phone Via VM. Proceeded to go through with it but when the phone went to bootloader it crashed on the install and rebooted to CWM (how I don't know)
Now I cannot boot to any system or rom on the phone. The phones system, data, and sd card will not mount via storage and mounts.
I am at a wall. I need some help. Please. I have ADB and superoneclick if needed.
Now also, I cannot go to the bluescreen bootloader via adb.
When I type adb reboot bootloader it reboots the phone back into clockworkmod recovery (where it starts everytime I boot up the phone)
Please help me!

Dude u are lucky enough that clockworkmod recovery is working just connect to PC and then boot into clockworkmod then choose advanced and then mount USB storage and by then USB will be mounted copy the ROM into sdcard and flash!! search around for stock ROM in zip
Format!! If that doesn't work then use card reader copy ROM and flash!! Or if u can't do this then visit service center of LG!! In my place service center guys are friendly !! Who knows u might be lucky too!!

yes if recovery is there, you have absolutely no problem
I was born in the '90's... 1290's >
if you want no root and stock gingerbread or stock froyo then simply use kdz method and you have your cwm recovery so you can boot up into emergency mode.. then everything will be restored to back as you have just brought your new p500

Stuck in recovery
Hi guys, I own an LG Optimus Slider
And I ended up bricking my phone.
I have CWM 5.0.6.7 on it, and stupid me did a Factory Reset in the regular setting >.< and now the only thing I can get into is CMW recovery, and Emergency Mode.
Anyhow, I've been searching for days now trying to get this phone restored to its original crappy glory.
I've found the KDZ method, had downloaded the original cab file from lg's site, and tried to restore using the KDZ method, but I've been getting stuck at a certain point.. I get an error every time I try and flash it....

Here's the log exactly as it appears when I try and flash.
Minus the link due to restrictions with my account >.<
This is not using the KDZ_FW_UPD.exe method
This is flashing using the UpTestEX_mod2_marwin.exe method.
Can someone PLEASE help me out >.<
Thanks in advance

I've never seen the second method,I'd honestly try using kdz or lgdmp
Sent from my LG-P500 using xda premium
KDZ
The KDZ method is the same as the other method, except it uses the official LG Phone Updater tool instead of KDZ to upgrade the software.
When I try using the KDZ software it freezes after "Unpacking KDZ" <=== inline edit to correct wording
I downloaded the cab file from the official LG website, and had it encrypted into a kdz file using the other method. Then made a copy of both files (for safe keeping just in case anything happened to the ones I was utilizing)
forum.xda-developers.c0m/showthread.php?t=1287236
Got my new LG L9 and, after upgrading to V20B via OTA, I decided to downgrade to V10A to get it rooted (this was before I discovered this thread :/).
Here is what I did:
- I successfully used the KDZ_Flash-Package_LG to downgrade.
- Had to hard reset, then the phone booted fine.
- Rooted using Bin4ry's method
- Installed some L9RecoveryInstaller_1.3.0.apk for CWM (I think this is where I might have f***ed up?)
- Got into CWM recovery just fine, then flashed the lates CM nightlies (from here) +gapps (or maybe this was stupid?)
- Rebooted (wiped all data, cache & dalvik)
Now the phone is stuck at the "Securty Error" screen. The situation:
- Hard reset doesn't help....
- ...but I can get into the S/W screen just fine!
- The devices COM port shows up in device manager
- ...but not the ADB
The LGMobile Support Tool does recognize the device just fine and I can start the phone update process, however, my Internet right now is dead slow, so I'd be waiting for 8 hours for the download to complete (with a chance of things going wrong, again).
I hoped I could flash using the offline KDZ flasher again (as I did previously). However, it keeps complaining that my phone is not connected. I assume this has to do with the fact that the ADB is not initialized?
Anybody knows a way out of this? How to get the ADB up while in S/W mode?
Or at least some feedback on where exactly I made the mistake, so I can learn for the future?
Edit1: Note that I did make a backup of the phone in V10A state, so getting back into recovery would also help!
Edit2: Could this "fastboot" thing help? If I got the phone into fastboot mode, what specifically could I do to unbrick?
Cm won't work without unlocked bootloader. SW is a bit flaky in JB. What you need to do is get p1 (xloader) and p2(uboot) dump from same variant phone as you have. These dumps need to be from ICS then you have to use fastboot to flash them. S/W mode should work fine after that. I'll update my post with more details when I have more time.
Try getting p1 and p2 from someone first
Thank you so much for your response!

Who would be so kind?
Edit: I played around a little and I already manged to get into fastboot mode following this thread. So all I need now are these p1/p2 dumps? Is there any chance on finding this on the web, in case nobody can provide me with some, here? Also, with "ICE", you mean "ice cream sandwich / ics" version of android, right?

Yes, ics. I don't think you can find it on the web. I'll post instructions how to dump p1&2 later.
R: [Q] LG L9 / p760 stuck at "security error". How to get ADB up?
Hi, I can provvide x-loader and u-boot from ICS but I think you need the boot.img (kernel) because you flashed the cm's kernel with locked bootloader and that caused the security error.
Anyway with LG mobile support tool you can configure an http server to download the kdz from your PC (VERY fast).
As soon as I get home I will post x-loader, u-boot and boot.img from ICS
Inviato dal mio LG-P760 con Tapatalk 2
Thank you again for your response! So the backups posted in this thread would not help me, right? I need dumps of unrooted p1/p2's...
@sguerrini97: - almost missed your response , thanks for getting back at me, and thanks for your offer to help me! I'm looking forward to get this fixed again
You are welcome
Here is a boot.img from p760: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/95188513/Android/boot.img
And here is the x-loader: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/95188513/Android/x-loader.img
They are from V10H. Unfortunatly I can't find my dump of ICS' u-boot, anyway I think you only need the boot.img.
Once you get in fastboot mode, run this command:
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
This should fix the security error...
To get adb working you can boot into LG's stock recovery if you didn't flash CWM from fastboot ([vol+] + [home] + [power]).
If you flashed another recovery (not the 2nd-init recovery, but a real recovery) here is the stock recovery.img: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/95188513/Android/recovery.img
You can flash this with fastboot too:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Keep us updated on your situation
- flashed your boot.img:
- still security error
- flashed both your x-loader.img and the recovery.img you provided:
- still security error
- tried to get into the LG recovery mode anyway:
- YES! ADB Interface in device manager!
- Tried to flash V10A using LGMobile Software Tool (was the only image I ever managed to get offline):
- used "emergency" phone mode
- went through "ANALYSIS" and "DOWNLOAD" without problems...
- ...but now is stuck at 4% of UPDATE for 10 minutes now already
- (log appended)
I'm still having the update open. Should I pull the plug? What to try next? Try again? Different PhoneMode?
Again, thank you so much for your support!

LG Mobile support tool is the easiest way..
You should download the last kdz for your IMEI (the version that the tool can find) and place it in:
"C:\shttps\www\swdata\WDLSW\LGP760\XXXXXX\VX0x_00\VX0x_00.kdz" and set the http port to 80.
(Replace Xs with your kdz info, you can grab them from the kdz link).
You should put only one of the two lines in the hosts file, I don't remember whick one but you can try..
LG Mobile Support Tool will connect to the internet but it will "download" the kdz from your PC, it will be very fast.
Sorry for my englesh
Okay, I'm not sure if I'm still doing what I'm supposed to:
To which version of the LG tool are you referring? The original one? The original one in combination with the fake KDZ server?
The folder you are referring to doesn't seem to exist.
Whats with the port? I never set any port before in the KDZ procedures...
Otherwise, I think I get what you mean with the path:
WDLSW/LGP760/ADEUBK/V20b_00/V20B_00.kdz
This file I am already downloading in a DL manager for some time now... (should be finished in 2h )
Next problem: I just tried to go through the regular update (without any offline tricks). It now asks for S/N and IMEI data (which I happily provide). Then update stops immediately:
Updating is not possible any longer due to a fatal
error while the LG Mobile Phone Software Update

If that procedure doesn't work, follow my previous post
Sorry but flashing boot.img will get you nowhere, system partition has been overwritten by cm, best you'll get is bootloop.
I don't know if lg intentionally broke sw mode in JB or why it doesn't work but that's why your phone isn't being detected by lg tool or kdz flasher and you won't be able to fix security error with plain adb.
to dump:
adb shell su -c busybox dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p2 of=/sdcard/external_sd/p2.bin
adb shell su -c busybox dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p1 of=/sdcard/external_sd/p1.bin
to restore
fastboot flash x-loader p1.bin
fastboot flash u-boot p2.bin
after that software mode will work and your phone should be detected by either lg tool or kdz flasher
@Lelus: You seem to be right... It looked so promising, but indeed, both following the instructions from the GUIDE and the workaround sguerrini97 posted, something always fails...
@sguerrini97: You already helped me sooo much, but do you think you could create those dumps for me? I'm kinda lost here :crying:
Now I've got the PACMAN rom, x-loader and u-boot are the ones from JB, I don't know if they will work..

I'm not sure, either... this is mostly new to me, and I know just as much as I learned today (which is already a lot ).
Theoretically you could use xloader and uboot from ics of p765 or p768
Two questions:
Where could I look for people that could help me?
Why is my CWM backup I made from my ICS install (after root, before flashing cm 10.1) not helping?
I have the following files:
Code:
.android_secure.vfat.dup
boot.img
cache.ext4.dup
data.ext4.dup
nandroid.md5
recovery.img
system.ext4.dup
Is system.ext4.dup not what we are looking for? (.dup = dump?), system = x-image? Most of these files are pretty small, though...
You need a backup in .tar format to restore it from adb, you made it in the new CWM format and I don't know if it's possible to restore it from adb. Maybe if you flash my x-loader and my u-boot you will have unlocked bootloader to flash a real recovery to restore it.

You mean your current JB x-loader / u-boot, right? I'm willing to try, could you upload those files?
x-loader: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/95188513/Android/JB/x-loader.img
u-boot: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/95188513/Android/JB/u-boot.img
CWM recovery: http://download2.clockworkmod.com/recoveries/recovery-clockwork-6.0.2.9-p760.img
You have to flash everything from fastboot:
Code:
fastboot flash x-loader x-loader.img
fastboot flash u-boot u-boot.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-6.0.2.9-p760.img
Then try to enter in recovery with [vol+] + [home] + [power], you should be into CWM.
My optimus L9 (p769) won't power on or charge. I was using it and I hit the lock button and then it just powered off. I tried charing it, jump starting it, and even hard reseting it. None of that worked. The only thing that works is getting into SOFTWARE UPDATE mode. PLEASE, HELP ME! I LOVE THIS PHONE!!!!
Please, anybody. Can you help me?

You may need to reflash xloader , uboot first http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2292828 and any flashing method should work if it isn't a hardware problem

I reflased everything, but it won't power on. And when I put it to charge the charging animation doesn't come up. I don't think it's a hardware problem if I can get in to fastboot and software update mode. I'm still trying to get it to work though
Sounds like a hardware problem to me.
What does it do when you run the offline flash or anything involving the s/w method?

Since I can't power it on, I can't try the offline flashing method. When I go in to S/W update it doesn't find the phone. This was always a problem. I'll try again though

Oh, and this is my log...
Just remembered I'm post JB and since I can't power on the offline method won't work for me. I can still get in to S/W update mode and fastboot. I tried rebooting from fastboot, that was a no go
Put the offline flash program in XP service pack 3 compatibility mode. And run as admin. I see from your log VISTA

It might just be your hardware or the u-boot partition, when I remove the boot and recovery, the phone just loops the lg logo. However, when I remove the u-boot, the phone doesn't respond. I haven't tried putting it in s/w mode. I'll check that next.
I'll try that, but because I have JB on my L9 and I can't power on the offline method isn't working and stops at 15%

well if you flashed the x, u, boot, recovery of ice cream, and it doesn't work, nothing i can do for you.
It could be the system partiton or boot partition (probably not).
RemoveDirectory1 Error(2):C:\LGMobileUpgrade
are you running as administrator
it's been awhile since i used the offline flash, I can't remember if this error is normal. I would check if this folder exist C:\LGMobileUpgrade
try removing all files found in C:\ProgramData\LGMOBILEAX (remove lgmobileax folder) uninstall and reinstall all drivers.

I was trying to upgrade my LG Optimus L9 (p769) to Jellybean and have gotten myself into a weird state. When my phone was in its stock ICS I was able to use the offline trick (running the local webserver) to flash a different KDZ on the phone. This KDZ was a european V20B that screwed up the screen (made it flipped all backwards), but the steps didn't warn me that I needed wireless enabled until *after* the flash step. Its impossible to enable anything with a reversed screen.
So, I went and flashed again with the original stock kdz and all went well except the screen was still messed up. So I did a factory hard reset and still nothing.
So now I'm trying to flash the latest factory KDZ (V20H) onto it but the phone isn't picked up by the flash tool in its current state, even though I'm in S/W Upgrade mode.
Anything I can do to fix this? I just want the stock stuff back on and then I'm going to leave it alone

Don't worry about it, just uninstall your drivers, then reboot your computer and install the drivers. You should be good after that. Then you do the normal offline flash.

I cannot find P769 thread but this fix should work on P769. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2411265
Flash P769 ICS u-boot & x-loader (using lelus' fastboot) and do offline flash again. This time it should detect your phone.
Don't go into software update mode. Keep the phone ON while flashing it, the kdz updater will automatically reboot it into S/W upgrade mode and continue the process.

Hello!
Well, direct to point: I was trying to debrand and update my phone. So, reading some tutorials, I find two ways to do this: using KDZ Updater and using a KDZ Offline Update with a script. In both of them was necessary to download a KDZ file from a site. I downloaded it (in my case, V10K_00.KDZ).
I just start the easiest tutorial, KDZ Updater. I installed the latest LG drivers, disable modem, configure the program, etc... but... I always give me an error saying "phone not found", doesn't matter the phone is download mode, recovery or normal mode.
So, I go to second tutorial... I edit the hosts files and started it. This tutorial works with phone in download mode. The phone changed the "download mode" line to "downloading", and at 94% the update process reseted the phone, and at this point my windows find another device, but the drivers wasn't installed. The update process then don't find the phone anymore, asking me to unplug the phone and plug it again. I do this, but it keep asking.
The phone don't turn on anymore. No vibrating at press power, no LG logo, no bootloop. Just nothing. BUT... If I plug it at computer, it still detected by windows! And now, I have TWO situations when I plug it (with or without battery):
1. If I just plug, windows find a LGE AndroidNet USB Modem and a unknow device. About two seconds later, both are desconnected and the unknow device appears again, and only it. The modem don't appear anymore.
2. If I plug pressing volume + and - buttons, the two devices apeears, but one still not recognized.
Then, I unplug the phone and search for the second device driver, using this PID (Vid_0e8d&Pid_0003). Is a "6218 USB Modem Driver", appearing under "ports" on device manager, sometimes with COM5, sometimes with COM4 and so on. I found driver only for WinXP, but it installed correctly.
So, I started the process again with the two situations. First with KDZ Updater, with same problem. With second method, but it give me erros about phone connection, or terminate with an error about general failure.
I tried to restore the phone to original ROM using another tutorial here, using LG Mobile Tools. I uninstalled and undo ALL stuff, clean registry and temp files (with cCleaner), installed the latest drivers again and download the latest version from LG. It detect my phone, but it always give an error saying the battery is not charged enought (in both situations). But the battery is OK, I charged it to 100%!
Now, I don't know what to do. Looking for more tutoriais, I find the LG Flash Tool 1.2, but it don't detect my phone or says "FAIL" on COM port of 6218 USB.
There another way to recover my phone? I have tried to update first in my notebook with Win7 SP1. Later (after the disaster) I tried on WinXP SP3 too. No luck.
Sorry for long post... but is a lot of detais...
Well...
I formatted another PC for tests. Used WinXP SP3, with all updates... But no sucess. Here go log from OfflineInstaller_Fix, if this helps:

Thanks. I already tried this, but no sucess. Tried with another program, LG Flash Tools 1.2, too. Nothing.
Now, I'm thinking about the KDZ I'm using is the problem. I'll try everithing again, with another KDZ, version V10A (the same from my operator). I post the results later.

Well, phone turns on again. But ONLY with same KDZ version from operator (V10A_04.KDZ).
I'll try with an older unbranded version (V10E_00.KDZ), and post results here.
EDIT: can't download. The link with counter on upperside don't appears. Any problem with the site?
SOLVED!!
I follow this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=51612244&postcount=2
My phone is now debranded and updated!

Nice. Worked successful! Got V10B_04.kdz to V10K_00.kdz following solution. Goodbye provider's blootware!
Well... One more problem... I have installed the SIM, and now I have a message saying "emergency calls only".
I don't know why, but both IMEI was changed. Solutions?
Nevermind. IMEI problem solved!

Hi there, i've got that problem.
A friend of mine asked me to fix his phone, it was stuck at booting screen after updating, I don't know how he tried to update, but I solved this one problem, then I was able to root the phone, but after that, it says "emergency calls only".
I don't have this phone anymore.
You can try re-flash to get phone working again, and then try root with Kingo Root.
