Hello Everyone,
I bricked my galaxy sIII i9300 bought in Europe. Now I am looking for a motherboard replacement and found a i747 motherboard in ebay. My question is can I replace the i9300 motherboard with i747 motherboard? If they are not compatible, can you suggest me a way to replace my motherboard?
Thanks in advance!
Regards,
Madan Raj
Although to save you having the thread moved or reposting.... the answer is no. You do not want a US model motherboard

Thanks!
Thanks for the answer, but can you please tell me why is not a good idea? I would be glad to know the reason as well.
And about reposting: where should I repost this question?

...because you wont be able to use the phone!
Its a completely different phone with different CPU and graphics card and connects to completely different network frequencies to the rest of the world.

Just outta curiosity, regard hardware and frequency, if their screen are same, is it possible to switch motherboard?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
No idea. Don't even know if the screen is the same or has the same fittings. How many essential components that aren't part of the motherboard need to connect to the replacement and work? What voltage do those components need?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
I think you can switch the screen setup of both models, but not sure. I read somewhere that its possible to switch screens. Let me lookit up and share it with you guys.
I was worried about the motherboard and now it seems I have no other choice than dumping my s3 or wait untill I get a i9300 motherboard
Anyways, thanks guys for sharing the information. Just let me know if have to keep something in mind before buying a motherboard. Any help or suggestions are appreciated!
Cheers!

Yes and also it is a different phone now. You get same result by putting motherboard in plastic bag.

Wait wait wait... What is the point of this thread? You want us to donate the money for your new motherboard? Or wtf? If it's burnt- we can't help you.
so um what do you want us to help you with? Motherboard is burnt and theres no way of fixing it I think than to get a new replacement
Grab your phone, go to the shop where you bought it, and say, that you just used your phone normally, and than you noticed, that it doesen't work, and you don't know what the problem could be. Maybe you'll be lucky, and they will fix it.
Think the OP is trying to ask how the motherboard has got burnt? (i think)
nothing you can do about it other than follow above posts advice ^^^
Motherboard got burnt? Hmmmm....That's fishy!
I think you must have used rom manager.

If your phone does not start, then the service center guys will tell that the motherboard is burnt or broken! Maybe this guy believed them without proof.

Maybe a trick as to how to fool the service folks?
If you did not overlock your device, or no Hardware damage has been done, there is no way that your Motherboard could be burnt.

It doesn't actually burn the motherboard. It corrupts the bootloader. But all the Samsung Service Center guys said that I short circuited my Motherboard after I showed them my ROM manager bricked phone. So thats why I'm saying it!

Since the thread for ultimate sudden death of S3 doesn't have a poll despite i requested op to put it. It's possible or not but we need to know how many of us have dead S3. I'm starting this poll in hopes to find out some numbers and ratio.
Suggestions are welcome on how to improve it..
Edit: Any idea how to edit this poll? i need to adjust it but there doesn't seem to be any option.

That's a good thread, it's like this that we're gonna get some more accurate ratio about the ones who suffered the sudden death on their galaxy s3's. for me everything is fine with mine but who knows ....

Hi
I think you need to remove the "Yes" and "no" options and add 16GB & 32GB "No" options to the 16GB & 32GB "yes"options as this is misleading

yes/No
2) Was it charging?
Yes/No
3) What type:

Found my S3 dead this morning. Was working fine last night and had plenty of charge. It will not take charge, hard reboot, nor go into download mode. And trying another battery or usb charger didn't make any difference.
Just been on to Three who said to take it in for repair/replacement. So I will be doing that today...

No, you are using a vulnerable chip.
VTU00M and 0xf1 are not safe. Flash a safe kernel.

There are kernels that address a problem that is assumed to prevent sudden death. Right now that's all we have.

Cheers, I just found out about it in the main Sudden Death thread. Going to flash one of those kernels myself now.
So I somehow managed to shatter the rear camera lens cover glass thing (sorry I don't know the technical term which maybe part of the issue) and I saw on youtube its very easy to replace. The only problem is all the replacements I find ship from hong kong and I'd like to know if any one has a website that ships from the us thay sells galaxy parts thay may have the camera piece I'm looking for. Thanks for your help.
Why not just ship it from HK?

well i don't know what the difference between the two are but if the screen is different between the two versions, it could possibly be the kernel doesn't have the "driver" for your screen?

Warning: This might be a silly question.
Dear Reader,
My Galaxy s2 Screen got broken, its the international model GT-I9100.
And I was wondering if it would be possible to replace the screen with :
http://www.ebay.com/itm/OEM-Sprint-...e_Replacement_Parts_Tools&hash=item3cd3213884
I know it's from a different variant of the phone, but I really love buttons on that variant, and don't want to buy a new phone just because of that.
I would like to know what are the differences that it wouldn't be able to work, or maybe it would work, or might need some custom modifications. I would like to know your opinions and thoughts.
Thank you,
Shardex
Dear Reader,
Any people willing to respond ? I would be very grateful
