I am in need of replacing my device (Inc2) and would like to upgrade somewhat in the process. I am unfortunately laid off and in college full time so trying to save money.
I have looked at some devices with cracked screens. I need to know opinions on if these tend to develop future issues aside from screen, is the replacement process doable at a home workbench, and suggestions exactly which parts to purchase and where.
Below is a couple of pics of a device in the condition I am looking into. Pic of screen off and screen on.

Screen off
Also posting a link for replacement part. Is this what I am looking for as a repair in full? Are all same quality? Should I look at needing to replace anything else?

Thanks in advance for all replies. Hope to be joining the people in this forum section soon.
The screen itself is fused to the glass, so replacing a cracked screen on this phone will be more expensive than on phones that have separate glass and LCD components. There's already a thread here discussing the screen replacement process. Also, here's a short video of what's involved in disassembling the phone.

I tried searching and couldn't find an answer for my question.
I just recently purchased a refurbed Asus Transforer TF101 + dock. I want to protect the screen of course, but also want to protect the back. I really love the look and texture of the back of the tablet. I want to get a clear protector for it, but I'm afraid because of the TF101's unique texture, the clear protectors(wet installs) won't properly adhere to it. Does anyone have experience + pictures with their install?
Thanks
This is a skinomi techskin. I bought it because it was the first product out there for the transformer, maybe the new stuff is thinner/better but this works fine. Its a soft film like invisibleshield/bodyguardz/phantomskinz and as you can see, the material actual conforms slightly to the texture, at least to the dimpled parts. What might not be apparent here is there are still some marks from the soapy liquid used for lubrication on installation. Its been on the tablet since May of last year and it still hasn't cleared completely up, so i would suggest getting a colored one if that kind of stuff bothers you.
Fits in the dock fine, just takes a little bit of extra push to get it totally in there to engage the lock due to it being slightly thicker.

Hi, all!
I have just bought my new moto, everything is cool but screen has parallel lines at low brightness and on grey and blue pictures. I heard about this issue on Super AMOLED but I think that on my screen this is too match. Please, check out photos.
The first photo is white pattern at low at brightness level about 10%. The second is grey pattern at about 80%. The last one is photo at about 60% of brightness.

Is it normal or I should to swap phone?
oh snap, that is real bad, compared to my phone thats really not normal.
Yeah not normal
you should get it replaced.
I went to service center in hope to replace for a new one but there don't want to replace, they show me another phone with similar defect and sad that this is pretty "obvious" for this model. I think they are hustler or I have a luck to talk with not competent people.
Thanks a lot for your respond, it give me confidence that truth is on my side and I will try to replace phone anyway.
Was walking home, and found this on the floor. I've always wated to find a phone on the floor, but this isn't exactly what I had in mind.

All I'm able to tell is that it's a Samsung device, and it may be GSM because of the microSIM slot I see on the back. The back had no battery, no cover, no SIM, the screen is clearly decimated, two capacitive buttons missing (it takes talent to break capacitive buttons) and most buttons are pretty much loose.
I may spend a little money to get this thing fixed up, assuming it even turns on. I planned on getting a battery to test out first, then if it worked, fixing up the phone and keeping it or selling it. Not anytime soon, since I just bought a Nexus 4 while already low on leisure money, but it would be nice.
From the picture you provided and the detailed description it appears to be a Samsung Epic 4g.
If your interested in some replacement parts for the device I would recommend taking a look at these parts www.globaldirectparts.com/Samsung-Epic-4G-Replacement-Repair-Parts-s/6425.htm.

Was testing out my Desire X's camera and my butter finger'ness came back and it slipped, smashed the ground. The screen looks fine, it just smashed open st the bottom. The battery doesn't really fit in properly, but if you push it in hard it fits in properly, but the device doesn't turn on.
There is also this two clips, does it have anything to do with proving battery power?

My question is, can this device still be recoverable as its not as bad. And I had paid money for it. Cheapest way to fix this? I've tried pushing everything into place but it just flings out.
When connecting the device to the PC it has a blinking led at the top which is red. Which blinks on and off.
Edit - the device turns on just fine oo freaking strong device.
Yeah, should be fixable. I think you'll need this as replacement and hopefully it will work fine then. Didn't test myself, I only had to replace screen assembly some time ago, but this part is easy to replace, provided that you've got the right screw driver available.
Hey all, so this happened earlier today.

And it got progressively worse and now I can't see anything. Was looking at replacements and was wondering if I needed the replacement screen and digitizer with or without the frame assembly?
Anyone deal with this before?
Thanks!
Not familiar with that phone but any impact great enough to break the display can cause internal damage. Direct contact isn't necessarily needed as high G loading can damage chipsets internally by breaking bonds.
In the future use a good case to help lessen the G force loading when dropped. Urethane/polycarbonate cases like the Zizo Bolt do well and can even enhance usability.
Use -all- OEM parts, and replace the battery if older then 6 months or if it shows -any- sign of damage. Best to use a ESD mat/wristband and observe all ESD handling protocols especially room RH ie >40%. Once the individual assemblies are out of circuit they are much more vulnerable to ESD damage.
