I posted this over in the Help & Troubleshooting section but figured I'd get some exposure here too..
Does anyone have a copy of the FULL RUU for 2.06.605.1 (the 800MB or 900MB file)? I know this isn't a usual request for these forums but I just want to simply reflash my DNA with the stock sw. I am only able to find 1.15 online through any searches I do however, you cannot downgrade unless you have s-off which I do not. I am 100% stock and just want to reflash to fix some irritating issues that a master reset didn't resolve.

it's not leaked.
s-off. flash eng hboot. run 1.15 ruu. then you can take ota's if you choose.

Hey beaups! Thanks for the reply. I am trying to your moonshine to achieve S-OFF but I'm having some trouble. First few times I kept getting a failederror try again and READ right in the beginning when it says its checking for updates... then it magically worked the 4th time, got all the way through where it said it was rebooting into bootloader (again), found the device in 8 seconds, but then it just continued to think and think and think while the phone was sitting on the fastboot screen. after 15 minutes, i selected to power off on the phone, made no difference on moonshine.. still just thinking. I closed out moonshine and tried it again but now I'm back to the failederror and it tells me to try and and READ right in the beginning. I've rebooted the phone several times, usb debugging is on, fastboot in the power menu is unchecked, everything is in the /downloads folder...

Ok so I just totally disabled my firewall just in case and now its back to thinking after rebooting into bootloader (again) and waiting for fastboot (8/60).. just putting up row after row of dots. Been running for 10 mins total now.
That's still a network issue. Av/security software may be blocking. If you are at work, corporate network could be blocking, etc.

Noted. However the rules do not explicitly say you cannot post the same question in 2 forums. With the way its worded, it sounds like they don't want you repeating in the same forum. If you don't get any answers in one section, why would think you cannot move to another section? Since no admins commented on this, I'm not really sure but thanks for the heads up. I will remove the other post when I get home.
Also, asking questions in General is against the rules anyway, that's what the QA section is for.
Please post only ONE thread about something in the correct forum, thanks.

So, I have tried very very hard to fix this, but now I'm out of ideas completely.
My problem is that I have no clue how to get from the ICS RUU leak to the most recent software update from HTC. There probably is a way to do it, but that isn't the only problem. I have no cable to do it with and my phone constantly restarts due to jacked software installation. So please, anybody who can assist me I would forever love you and such.
Thanks anybody
Also don't hate me if this belongs in Q&A, I wasn't sure.

So uh, not to be a smartass, but how do you charge your phone without a cable?
all you should have to do is go into hboot and flash the latest RUU. If you get the mainver error use one the many tools/tutorials on here.

I worded that bad. I have a cable, but it doesn't have the ability to transfer data between my phone and any computer. (I don't have the original cable, it was replaced by a mini-usb)
EDIT: I also can transfer data from my SD card to my computer, just not directly through the phone.

You have to go through the RUU twice.
first run updates hboot. second runs through the rest.

I think I have the wrong file then or something. I did run it twice because I thought that I did it wrong
You can't go back to the latest GB RUU from the leaked ICS RUU. This is because the new RUU has a higher HBOOT version than the old, and even though you can reduce your mainver, you can't go back to an older HBOOT. You do have some options though:
1) Try to fix the issues you are having by reflashing the leaked RUU.
2) Wait for the ICS OTA, and you should be able to upgrade to that
3) Beta testing for Juopunutbear S-Off is now over, and it has been proven successful. Once this method is released, you can do it to your phone, and once you have S-Off, you should be able to run downgrade your HBOOT and run any RUU (newer or older) that you want.

Similar thing happened to me. I have hboot 1.15. I relocked the the phone ran the RUU. Phone booted up normal with the everything stock. I then took the OTA and when it rebooted it was updating then it rebooted and the phone never turned on again. I sent it to HTC for warranty. They will get it tuesday. I'll see how this goes.
Okay guys... Enough with the flaming. If you can help, post! If not, don't. Grow up. It was posted in the wrong section. Use the report button in the upper-right corner of the post and report it.
Now, let me see if I can actually help you.
You're getting this error because you're trying to flash an older RUU on the phone than what's already on there. You'll need to flash the same RUU version or higher. If you took the latest OTA update, there may not be one available yet. I'd suggest you go through the HTCDev unlock again until that RUU makes it to the internet.
Team Nocturnal posted a couple of the older RUU versions.

Hi there jrgalioto. Can you do me a favor, and boot into your bootloader for me? I'd like you to check the green text.
What Radio version does it say you have?
Also, if you can connect the phone up to your computer and run the fastboot command (in FASTBOOT USB mode):
Code:
fastboot getvar mainver
What number comes back? (If you can't run the command, don't worry about it)
---
If I might ask, why did you relock the phone?
---
I'm looking into trying to get you a link to a current RUU. One has been posted, but I can't access it because of Filefactory's restrictions. Hopefully somebody will post a mirror to the download soon.

I relocked because I needed to bring it back to Sprint for service, so I needed to unroot it, because I wasn't receiving data to it. But I got it figured out now. I was able to unlock the bootloader again and my recovery was still there. So i reflashed a custom ROM, so I at least had something on my phone. When I called Sprint, I told them it was not a phone issue, they updated my username in the system, then I was able to ##72786# to get the hands free activation to complete without error 1012. So I am now back in business. However, If I ever do have to unroot again, I will be in the same boat.

Any luck on the mirror for the new RUU download? I'm using the latest one I can find and I am stuck and can't get my phone to reboot, shutdown or anything. I can't run fastboot either. all I see is ***Tampered*** unlocked*** ....RUU update fail!
My phone won't respond to the volume down and power button either.
any suggestions?
I should never have flashed my Evo 3D. I had no experience, but a buddy of mine talked me into it. It worked fine for a good while, but now...it just reboots itself randomly, and then freezes during the boot screen. I have to pull the battery to reset. I also can't use TONS of apps that I'd really like to have. Smart Glass, My Xbox 360, Bad Piggies, etc...
Anyway, I don't even know what H-Boot is, or what version I'm on. This is all the info I have...
Android Version: 2,3,4
HTC Sense Version: 3.0
Software Number: 2.08.651.2
MOD Version: InfectedROM_Synergy-3dvo_RLS-1 (NIGHTLY)
Kernel Version: 2.6.35.13-ck3+
All I want to do is go back to a stock Sprint ROM. I'd like to get the latest OTA if possible. I tried that as well, but it just searches forever. I let it go overnight once, and woke up 9 hrs later, and the thingy was still spinning.
Anyway... Any help would be MUCH APPRECIATED! This thing is driving me crazy. I'll be getting a Note II soon, but I can't take this ROM anymore,
-B
EDIT: Almost forgot... It isn't that I haven't tried anything. I grabbed a Stock ROM off of PPCGeeks, and connected my 3vo to my laptop. I ran the .exe, but it said it failed. I also got a different ROM, put it on the ROOT of my SD Card, navigated to the .zip in Recovery, and initiated a flash. Every attempt ended with the phone rebooting with the same old Synergy ROM. Once booted, I got a bunch of pop-up messages saying that various programs weren't able to run, or something like that. However, these programs included Sense, Phone, etc...

Follow this guide through Step1 and you will be 100% stock on the current Sprint ICS ROM. If any of the apps you want to run require root then you can complete Step2 as well. Since Step3 is for gaining S-OFF I doubt that you would need to do that in your situation.

THANKS! I'll give it a shot, and report back. I REALLY appreciate the help, good sir.
UPDATE: Yup...this is exactly what I did last night. All that happens is that it tells me it failed, and then reboots back to how it was. I just read a troubleshooting section, and it says to check if the bootloader is unlocked, and that if it is (via HTCDev) that it will stop this method from working. I'm pretty sure this is what's messing this up for me. However, they give no explanation as to how someone can change this. I don't even know where to look to make sure it's locked...

Well, the thing is... I understand everything but re-locking this boot loader. That's all I have to do for this to work, but I just don't understand that thread at all. It's just gibberish to me. I mean, is it a program I have to use? Do I type something in? IDK... That thread is pretty hard to understand if you have no knowledge of this stuff.

Mogul, you could find a stock rooted Rom that would be essentially the same thing as returning to stock without having to relock. I'm sure RamJet will have a link as I'm at a restaurant ignoring my girlfriend.

He wants ota updates.
He won't be able to take OTA updates from sprint if he don't relock.
@op
You need to download the rootevo3dnew.zip attached in the link you posted above. Then extract it somewhere. If you are using win xp open cmd and navigate to that folder in cmd. If you are using newer version of windows then hold shift and right click the folder which you just extracted and click "open command window here." and then connect phone in fastboot mode and type the "fastboot oem lock". Then reboot the bootloader, you will re locked instead of unlocked at the top. Now you can run the ruu.
Or hit me up on gtalk when you have 20-30 mins time, i will guide you.
I rooted using this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=36976137#post36976137 (I think it's referred to as CID 222222, though I think when I did it the first time it was 111111). I locked it, updated to 2.04.605.2, then was able to reroot it using the same method.
I want to get the OTA to 2.06 because I keep getting the PUK lock and no SIM found errors and the update popup is really starting to get annoying with how much it pops up.
I think I can get root and s-off using moonbeam if I upgrade to 2.06, but I'm not sure how to get it to that point.

Unfortunately because it's rooted it fails to update that way. Last time I think I had to restore a factory Rom or ruu or something then do the update and then restore from backup, but I'm not sure which room to use this time, or if there is a better way now.

I think you're going to have to RUU the 1.15 stock rom with directions from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2017525 and just let it accept all of the the updates up to the 2.06 update before you root it. That way you'll have the stock recovery, so you should definitely be able to accept the OTA's. There might be an easier, quicker way, but I couldn't find one.

All right, that's fine at least.
So, once I take it down to 1.15, then back up to 2.06, I can do the moonbeam method to root and s-off instead of CID 222222, right?
Also, is there a better way to handle updates, so I don't have to keep going down to 1.15?
Thanks for the help.
I used the Revone method to root 2.06. I never used that one you mentioned because when I bought my DNA 2 weeks ago, it was on 2.06 and Revone and Moonshine were the only options I saw that worked for 2.06. It's in the development section.

I'm currently trying that one, but the RUU part failed the first time I tried... will try it again.

Gaa. I think I may have messed something up.
Phone is stuck on white HTC start screen. no other messages.
I started to do the downgrade to 1.15, it didn't work, but it did wipe everything out.
So then I saw how to just do the upgrade to 2.06, so I figured I would first do a restore through clockwork mod.
It got part way, and something happened, and when I looked at it next the white screen was up.
I can restart it by holding down the power button, but then it starts back up again.
Any way to save it?
Edit: ok, was able to get into fastboot/bootloader
Figuring out where to go from here...

Need a little more info, are you unlocked? s-off'd? rooted? custom recovery? I mean what are these set to currently btw, not what you have done in the past.

I might have figured it out...
unlocked, rooted, not s-off'd, CWM recovery.
I had a NANDROID backup, but it wasn't letting me restore from it, said it couldn't restore system.
Thats when it failed out.
I did some reading and figured out that I needed to hold down the down volume button when the screen flickered black for a half second and that got me back into fastboot.
Back in CWM I factory reset, wiped the cache and davlik cache, formatted system, and tried restore and so far it looks like it's working. It was able to restore system, and is currently restoring data.
So hopefully I'm on my way back, though it was a scary couple minutes there.
I'm a noob, but slowly learning

Will do.
I don't like that Verizon makes it so hard to do this stuff, locking things down, but I do feel some satisfaction when I am able to make it work despite them.

Yeah vzw is horrible on a lot of fronts, but I like my consistent bill every month, something I never had on att. My bill would be anywhere from 120-300 dollars for no reason, as I had 2 grandfathered unlimited plans. my bill should of been around 150 dollars, and never was.

I Am hopefully missing something really simple?
Hey all,
I just tried to gain S-Off by using DirtyRacun. Everything went smoothly up until it got to "Is that a corndog?" at which point it hung and just generated periods. I've been trying to use RacunHunter, but with no luck. It just says "Waiting for device" and keeps pumping out periods. My phone is currently a complete brick and won't respond to anything.
Any advice?
What Hboot version & firmware do you have currently?
My phone is at least trying to respond this morning, though it's slow as hell. Fastboot shows my HBoot as 1.19.0001, and I have posted pictures of my software info screen. Let me know if you can't read them and I'll write the info out.

Try facepalm. That method works for your software version and it's very easy to use.

I'll give that a shot later today. I have to work first
Definitely go with Facepalm. Much easier to use and takes less than five minutes from start to finish.

Also, take a look at post #11 of the thread below.

Your second link doesn't work. Thanks for the link to Facepalm though.
Sounds Facepalm is the way to go. My phone has been operational all day, no restarts or hard locks, but I haven't exactly been playing with it all day.
Sorry about that. Try the link below. Post #11.

Have you succeeded in getting S-off?

Actually, my phone died late Friday night and I haven't been able to get it to respond to anything. I was hoping that waiting for a while would get it to respond like it did before. So far, no luck. The buttons do nothing and the charging light doesn't come on, either.
So i've been trying to use the HTC Unbrick Project to get my phone back, but when I try to run the code in the last step, it throws back the following: "./emmc_recover: --backupafter: unknown option". Does anyone know why that would be?
EDIT: I posted this here because the last activity of the HTC Unbrick Project thread is from December 2013. I figured I could get better help here, rather than an old thread. Let me know if I should post there instead.
Might want to see whether or not the OP of the Unbrick Project applies to your current situation, first off.
"Note: This will fix only devices which were bricked by turning S ON. And bricks caused by a damaged hboot via interrupted OTA update/RUU flash on a S-ON device. Any devices bricked with other ways are currently *not* supported."
I'm not really sure what caused the turn off, which is a problem. I think it tried to say that there was an update available, and then shut off, but I can't really remember. I'm hoping that this could fix it.
Either way, the issue I just mentioned has to do with the program, not my phone.
So I got my phone back up and running, but it won't go into fastboot. Every time I try to boot into fastboot, it skips the initial HTC screen and continues as though it were booting normally. I assume that means my HBoot is corrupt, but I don't know how to fix that.
Does the phone boot to the operating system? If so, go to Menu>Settings>Power and make sure that Fastboot isn't checked.
I could not find that option, and I wondered if that might have been it. Thanks! Now I get to root this thing and try facepalm.
Alright! Finally succeeded in getting S-Off with Facepalm. I have run the official RUU for 3.16.651.16 and then got the OTA update to 3.16.651.3. I had to call Customer Service to fix an Error 16, but it works now.
I guess the question now is, is it worth upgrading to 4.13? I know it's not hard, but downgrading seems like a pain if I don't like it or it doesn't work well.
EDIT: Nevermind, I see that it's pretty easy if I use VipeRUU or even the stock RUU. Thanks for all of the help guys!
