I thought of reposting this so that members in this forum may know how to apply as a Recognized Contributor. This is just a repost and some minor modification of what s.d.oconnor posted over at the General Forum
So over on the Recognized Contributors forum, it has become clear that most members of XDA don't know that you can apply for the title of Recognized Contributor (RC).
What is a Recognized Contributor?
Recognized Contributor is a role intended for members who produce some of the best original and helpful guides for users, as well as helping other users who have problems, in a friendly manner. Recognized Contributors will get a custom user title and the faster ad-free XDA template, as well as access to developer tools currently being created. Any Senior Moderator on XDA can add Recognized Contributors, should you feel deserving of this title.

How can i apply?
Well like it says in the text above, you can apply for this title by sending a PM to any Senior Moderator (list of Senior Mods below).
Best way on how to apply through Private Message (PM)
When you are writing you application to a S-Mod you will need to include:
* A polite hello
* Your username with a link to your username, they will want to check your history.
* Why you think you you would make a good RC, including a little about your time on XDA.
* Links to your work including Guides, Ref, Roms, Projects, Apps E.T.C
*A thank you for their time and good bye (Manners are free)
Note:
Please note only apply once to one S-Mod, do not send 3 aplications to 3 diffrent S-Mods. Also be patient, the S-Mods are very busy people and have other work on XDA and in personal life.

If you do get accepted as a RC then please come and visit the RC's forum and help contribute to our work and cause to make XDA a better place. If you have any questions then please ask, i will or other RC's will help in anyway we can.

OK, so I know about 4shared Blackmart Aptoide Applanet & Snappzmarket got taken down but does anyone knowa good forum or place to get free paid apps that actually works? In trying to get Call of Duty Zombies and after turning Google upside down the links are all full of it! Any suggestions my dear fellows?

Actually I do. I've spent tons on paid apps except I try them before I buy them... if I like it then I buy it if I don't then I won't. This is an advantage and one of the MAIN reasons why I picked Android over iOS. I don't mean to steal or disrup.t

This is considered piracy which is against forum rules. XDA is a forum for encouraging development not stealing it. I will report this thread to the Mod and i would kindly ask you NOT to make anymore threads like this. Thanks in advance.
As mentioned above, talk of piracy or warez is strictly against the rules. Don't ask for such things on xda or you won't last long.

I dont think this post follows the XDA rules.
XDA is a community of developers and when we download apps in this way, we are betraying ourselves and the whole community.

some devs make apps for a hobby,
some of them take those purchases of just $1 each to feed their kids, pay the rent, pay for the kids education, get their life moving forward,
if you steal a small amount from that honest man who worked hard to give you that service then you are a shame,
you don't deserve to be on XDA.

P.s - as mentioned before, please refrain from using the mention system as a report feature. It's not exactly that it's annoying, it's that some moderators (not me - clearly) have theirs turned off, and it doesn't always come to their attention, whereas reports do.

I understand that he violated the rules of XDA and which is offensive too. I and many other people are here for development and we live for it. I understand that the moderator has been true to the rules but I request if you could see from the developers point of view too.
Earning through clicks isn't fair according to the rules and if that's entertained this site will be become a portal for earning. But if the moderator could just post a final warning to the developer that would do the needful. I'm pretty sure he would post direct links and resume back the development.
I hope you understand us and our concern towards development.

And do you have personal knowledge that the mods didn't contact him via PM, as that is the method that would be used, issuing warnings prior to locking his thread? Everyone is given a chance or chances to remedy their situation before action is taken.

Well, I didn't mean that he wasn't given warnings or maybe he was given warnings.I understand the mods might have talked to him and issued warnings. I even understand that that he disrespected the mods and continued to break the "Rule no. 13" of the forum. But I,supporting the development platform would just prefer to finish the issue asap with some proper understanding between the mod and developer. I wasn't offending and assuming anything.
