I recently broke my Note 2 and need a new phone to hold me over till I get an upgrade in about a year. Just wanted to know how your phones are still holding up and if it's still worth getting.
Thanks.
It's definitely worth getting. I've had this phone for over a year now and it's super durable and it's had good performance throughout the year. Definitely worth getting and it'll most certainly help you get to your upgrade

I just got this phone a couple weeks ago when I broke ny galaxy nexus. I'm really enjoying it. Don't regret getting this phone at all. Its very fast and smooth. Gets great battery life compared to the galaxy nexus I had before.

I'm very happy with this phone. I haven't had any problems that i didn't cause myself.
Also, this device, once retired, will make a great media player. Only downside is no easily replaceable battery...
I below it's only a couple screw's to get the battery out so at least if it does seem to lose capacity you can put a new one in.

I love the Evo LTE. Development has been slow to some degree, but there are some excellent ROMs available. Grab the Otterbox Commuter case if you want solid protection.

This phone is good but the s3 is better overall. I sold my evo 4g lte three months after I got it due to poor reception. Picked up a s3 and haven't seen 3g since on my phone. The 4g lte radios got issues on this phone. Everything else with the phone is fine except the battery, coming from the note this will be hard to live with the s3 battery last longer but if you get the official extended battery by Samsung it will get better life than the note 2. Htc feels good in the hands compared to the plastic of Samsung but if you use a case like I do it really don't matter.

Galaxy S3. I am looking for something new.
I never thought i'd say this...but my next phone might be a Samsung. lol
I really wish HTC wasn't soooo blind and/or blatantly anti-consumer. It seems like Samsung got everything right with the gs3 while the new line of HTC phones still have quite a few things that I really don't like about them.
I haven't finalized my decision by any means, but as of now, i'm definitely leaning towards the GS3.
Everything was looking so good right up until the screen...F That crap...not even going to give pentile display a 2nd thought after seeing the Galaxy Nexus up close.

new evo ... locked in battery
gs3 for me
The answer would be easy if HTC would listen to the community. But since Samsung makes their devices developer friendly its a hard not to go with them. Even with the screen quality being less than the Evo LTE. The Evo is guaranteed to be locked and I can't stand being restricted. HTC also doesn't give out source code so our devs can't build functioning roms. Thats why I'm leaning Samsung
Coming from the rezound in June. I was happy with the way the one x looked and thought that's what I'd be getting, then the evo let design came out. It kind of bummed me but it's growing on me. The sg3 just doesn't have a good enough design for me. I like the lte's look better. Still wish it looked like the one x though :/. Oh well I still can't wait.

That's what I'm saying. Yes, I'd love to upgrade to the Evo LTE, but why should I? I have 4G service already(7-9Mbps anytime of day). I have 3 batteries(neverending power) and a Ballistic case(won't be breaking my phone) on my Evo 3D...While the specs are better on the SGIII and Evo LTE, I just can't justify getting a new phone yet with all the money I've spent on this phone. I am eligible for an upgrade though. And I can always change my mind once I physically see and touch one of the new generation phones. But I'm pretty happy with my Evo 3D for now.

Sent from my EVO using xda premium
It's going to be really hard to go from an evo 3d to an iPhone...
4.3" touch screen to 3.5" touch screen
Plus you go from 4 capacative buttons to 1 home button
iOS is a lot different than Android
No 4g on the iPhone
No ability to use custom Roms
I'd recommend the 4g LTE because honestly its not that much bigger than the 3d. Plus its thinner and lighter than the 3d. Hahaha I just really dislike apple and the iPhone
I think the E3D is the perfect size, maybe a tad too thick. The current Iphone is WAY too small.
Going to an iPhone because a new phone has a bigger screen? Dramatic much? Just stay with the 3D until HTC releases a smaller phone, or get used to the size. It's really not that bad and I have really small hands. (I've got the pleasure of holding one..)
No need to downgrade your phone because you don't like one you don't own.

EVO LTE is better. I can't think of a single thing I preferred about the Galaxy Nexus. And Samsung's build quality always feels like Playskool, to me.
Btw, in the future, please search - this has been discussed in many threads.
I upgraded to the galaxy nexus and then returned it due to battery being not very good and screen would get pretty hot not that it messed up the phone it was just annoying but in a nut shell
Nexus:
Better software (google support so you will get asap updates and releases)
Easy rooting and unlocking
Removable battery
NFC actually works
Most development anywhere
EVO:
Better camera
Sd card slot
Wayyy better battery
Svdo
Kickstand
Honestly either one is a good choice I had both slight edge to EVO but not much if you want better software get the nexus if you want better hardware get the EVO you will be happy with either one just pick your poison

It's definitely gonna be a nice phone! I owned the Evo 4G, still have my Evo 3D with about 6 extra batteries , and still have 2 Evo LTE (1 in each color). That said, I could care less if it has the Evo name or not, to be honest, I don't care if it's named HTC Turd! Lol. A name is just that, a name. It has nothing to do with the phones features and functionality! If it doesn't have an sd card slot then I won't even consider it! The One is a huge disappointment to me with no sd card slot and only a 4.7" display! That's why I now have a Note 2. I wanted a bigger display and gotta have an sd card slot! After 6 or 7 years of nothing but HTC phones, this Samsung is a very nice change(NEVER thought I would EVER say that)! It's nice to not have to worry about s-off/unlocking the bootloader, since Samsung doesn't lock their sh1t down like HTC does!! Oh, also nice being able to swap batteries again! One of the first things I did was order an extra battery! Almost forgot how awesome it was being able to swap batteries in my Evo 4G and Evo 3D!!

Well the One doesn't have LTE800 and it's going to start popping up soon so I'm ready to have a phone with both LTE bands ready to go. (assuming that this is all true and if the Butterfly S does in fact have the correct radios for LTE 1900+800).The One on Sprint has such a crappy antenna design when it comes to LTE and 1X...I didn't use my upgrade on it so I'm ok with the switch if need be.
