Hi friends I have a GTI9300 and i had the official JB 4.2.1 on it. So i want it to try the Pre=Release JB 4.2.2 so i backup my rom trough CWM so then i went and installed I9300XXUFME7_I9300OXAFME7_OXA trough Odin and it delete my cwm backups arggg so I'm searching how to recover it from the internal SD of the pone if any one can help me i be grateful
you mean you did a factory reset? you can't recover any files after that.
check /data/media
Your CWM backup where ???not on the ext sd card but the internal one .
If yes to INT SD then no recovery only if backup is on ext sd or copy on PC .
jje
i'm afraid i did the Factory resset format cache format data and format system but the thing is i did this before and my backups were still there i guess when i install the JB 4.2.2 Odin it format the whole internal memory so on the backup i had important files i would like to know if it is posible to recover the image of that backup!!!
so did you check /data/media? if you formatted the internal sd, you can't recover the data
There is no official 4.2.1, if you went from 4.1 to 4.2 then your data should still be in the memory, inside a folder called '0'. If you did format the internal storage then it's gone for ever.

You may try this android data recovery guide which can recover lost files from samsung galaxy phones.
good luck.

Hi guys, this may be a stupid question.
I have all these useless files on my internal storage that have been collected through my time with my Galaxy S2.
I recently flashed cm10 to my phone, and after i wiped it with CWM, i still have GBs of stuff from old times.
I also noticed that there's a CWM folder in the internal storage.
So this is what i want to do:
1. Format internal storage clean, and still have CWM.
2. Flash the SuperNexus ROM + GAPPS from external SD through CWM.
3. Start clean
Can i do that? And if so, how?
Backup the essential files, such as music, pics, important documents or attachments, any nandroid backups and TiBu backups, then go to settings, storage and format the SD card. CWM should not be deleted since that is in the /system partition. I did it the hard way, flashing a stock unrooted ROM, deleted every single thing, then rooted and flashed a custom ROM.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
u can format your internal and external without worrying of loosing root ( I do that at least 3 or 4 times a day ) because essential and important apps(superSU or CWM) like that are in /system/app while the paths u will erase are /sdcard and /sdcard/external_sd
so just go for it and clean ur internal sd up.
Hi All,
I did a factory reset today and flashed the stock 4.1.1 Polish ROM via Odin. This process seems to have wiped my files (including photos etc) from my S3 (internal memory, not SD card). I've flashed plenty of ROMS before and this has never happened.
Anyone know if it's possible to get them back? I guess I've installed new apps etc now so a lot of the data would have been overwritten. Frustrating!
Thanks for any tips.

You answered your own question with your first sentence : I did a factory reset...
Unfortunately its not possible to get back the data

Unless you backed up on PC or sd card...
Factory reset in S3 will always wipe internal memory as it shares internal memory for applications.
If you want to restore try some data recovery software that supports SD card.

That would be the only way. There is a very small window to recover data wiped from flash memory and on a phone it would be even more difficult. Maybe a Clockwork backup?
Internal SDcard is mounted on the system partition via Fuse..so if you format the /system partition..sdcard is formatted as well..
Pointers for future..
Use CWM for flashing ROMS..(I hate Odin )
Backup your internal SDcard on your PC regularly
Perform a Nandroid Backup on your ExtSDcard before flashing any ROM.
If you ever need to factory reset..use the wipe data/factory reset option in CWM and not in Stock Recovery
For a clean install, if you want to wipe system partition..use wipe /system option under mount and format in CWM..it just wipes the system files and your SDcard data will be safe..
You will not face such issues if you in the future if you follow these pointers.

Thanks for that. Lesson learnt I guess..
i've downgraded from 4.3 to 4.1.2 and froze bunch of system apps and restored few apps using titanium backup and rebooted.then i got bootloop so i wiped data through the stock recovery and lost all my files in internal storage.i've searched and i found out that my files should be in data/media/0 but there is nothing.just some folders like android, bluetooth, photos etc.is there anyway to revover those files especially call log backup? sorry for my english btw
edit:i've 16 gb version and storage shows about 11gb is free i guess my files are permanently deleted

Hi!
I have a huge problem! I wanted to flash the official CM12 nightly on my gf's SGSII, but with a bigger PIT... so i backed up my phone's apps and some system files (titanium backup), downloaded all the needed files (ODIN, kernel, PIT files), then I connected phone to PC and flashed new pit and kernel... went to recovery mode and formatted internal memory (sdcard0) when I just remembered i forgot to make a backup of internal memory (my way is just to copy all the sdcard0 to my computer.....)!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? so before i flash new ROM to the phone, is there any solution to recover those files back on my sdcard0 (either through download mode or recovery mode) cuz all the files to flash and TB bacup file were stored to sdcard0 (internal memory)
would appreciate any help here and sorry for my english

Connect your phone to PC, mount Internal memory and try some file recovery program like Recuva.
My father had a softbrick of his Galaxy S2 without having done a backup in the last 6 month.
Now he need some data that are stored on the phone so I cannot do a wipe data factory reset and I was wondering if I install a custom recovery can I move all the datas on the Sdcard and then read them from a microsd card reader?
Will installing a new recovery change the data?
Thanks
EDIT:
I solved the problem.
First I installed the Philz CWM recovery, that I reboot the phone in recovery Mode and chosed to mount as USB drive so I could copy the content of Sdcard.
Then I did a backup of data and system Partition through the backup menu on an external Sd card, after that I did a wipe/factory reset and the Phone reboot regularly
To recover the information that you need from the Backup can you use TitaniumBackup
I'm quite sure that the /data partition will stay untouched, since the recovery image is installed in another partition.
BTW, on some recoveries I was able to connect the phone to the computer and to read internal storage. Are you sure it's the data partition you need? The only thing stored in this partition are apps and app data. Images etc are on the internal storage (sdcard0).
Hope this helps.
I thought that Data and Sdcard were the same partition, what I need is to recover contacts and Viber/whatsapp message and images.
If I install a Custom recovery can I do a backup of everything and could I use adb to do a complete copy of the sdcard?
Thanks
