So I picked up this cool Nyko Controller for my Incredible 4G LTE, uses Bluetooth HID support and can act as a controller or a mouse.
Works beautifully on my Incredible, Tried it on my Rezound Running Ecplitic Rez and It connects, but does nothing in OS or Emulator Apps.
I can Only assume this is because the Rezound did not have HID support in GB, and they did not upgrade the stack when giving us ICS
Are there any Sense Based ROMs that incorporate HID support available atm?
Try Nils' 3.6 Global.

I have read that the bluetooth stack is not same as og evo. I am curious if anyone had info on this. If it its true it might and I stress might allow us to use bt devices such as wii or ps3 controllers. Now with full hdmi mirroring this could make for the ultimate gaming phone for those into emulation. What are ur thoughts?

Sheer joy, if it's true.
Any knowledge or opinions would be much appreciated.

i use a wiimote on my evo4g now. Just have to run an AOSP rom not SENSE.
I love the idea of emulating from my phone like I do now, playing Final Fantasy 3/6, 7, Tactics with a wiimote is already epic on the phone, couldn't imagine on a huge TV so easily now too. I ned a tv worth it though.
I have not found any custom roms I trust enough to void my warranty for. I have ran cm6 and cm7 and I did like them but as many phones as I have went through especially my hero last year ill stick with stock sense and hope evo 3d will allow such bt devices such as wii or ps3 remotes to work

what does the thread title and the OP have to do with each other?
The Evo 4G supports bluetooth profiles like A2DP for wireless stereo headsets, and FTP and OPP (object push) for file transfers. But when it comes to connecting an interface device, it does not support bluetooth HID (human interface device) profiles. It only supports SPP (serial port protocal).
Which is why things like the MSI BGP100, and the FreedomPro Keyboard work with it. Both of these devices use SPP bluetooth profiles. Drivers were created and released in the market, and a stock Evo 4G can connect to these.
Everyone blamed the HTC Sense interface for why we couldn't connect HID devices, (Wii Mote, and several keyboards, mice, etc). Which is why the OP mentions Sense 3D, because he still thinks it was sense that did it. It wasn't actually Sense that did it. HTC just never built bluetooth HID profiles into the phone.
AOSP roms don't have sense, but they are also built from ground 0, so they have HID profiles built into them. A lot of people have mistakenly thought that it was taking Sense completely out, that brought bluetooth HID back in, but it was really just coincidence.
For example, iPhones don't come with HID profiles, but someone in Cydia released an app that alters the bluetooth stack for you, and adds additional profiles. Theoretically, someone could have done this for the Evo 4G, but no one has yet.
That being said, I have seen several sites, including HTC's own, showing bluetooth HID under the specs for the Evo 3D. This isn't something I was ever able to find for the Evo 4G.
Don't quote me on it, but I am banking on all the WiiMote apps, bluetooth keyboard apps, and any other bluetooth input device, working properly with the Evo 3D right out of the box.
Thank you bradley. that is exactly what I was curious about. u answered my question and educated me at same time. that was much appreciated.

No problem. If you get a chance, hit my thanks button.
There was some speculation after the initial announcement that the evo 3d's bluetooth stack would support bluetooth hid and hence wiimotes. I looked at htc's site and don't see hid support mentioned. This is very important to me especially in the light that we may not be able to put cm7, which has a fully functional bluetooth stack, on the evo 3d.
Is there any way to tell from any of the system dumps if the evo 3d supports hid?
Anyone comment? I had originally seen something showing it did have it, on HTC's own site, but it has since been taken down.
It's a dealbreaker for me.
Who knows if this site has their facts straight, but it's shown here with BT HID. http://www.phonerated.com/cell-phone.php?phone=htc+evo+3d
I wonder what the problem is!?
Is this fixable by going AOSP route?
Or Honeycomb?
Or do we have to wait for icecream sandwich... it's just sad what a downgrade in usability features e3d is from the evo og.

The og evo didn't support wiimotes out of the box either. Wiimotes would work on cm6/7 and possibly other aosp roms as well. Htc is still using a crippled bluetooth stack on the evo 3d. Once cm7 is released for the 3d I'm sure it will support wiimotes though.

HTC BlueZ bluetooth stack won't even work with cars that have BT 2.x, ie, all cars older than 2010.
So I got wind of the fact that you can still possibly get a full upgrade even with just a partial upgrade. Now my favorite part of my Evo 4G is easily playing Super Nintendo games with my classic controller.. almost to the point that I think it might even be a dealbreaker for me getting the Evo 3D. Any news on if the bluetooth will be functional this time around or if there are any new 3rd party controllers that work?
Way to early to know that for sure.

I'm under the impression that peripheral devices are honeycomb 3.1

HTC Sense has a weird bluetooth stack that didn't allow the wiimote applications or bluetooth mice to work. I believe that's what the OP is referring to, since an Evo 4G with CM7 on it can run wiimote or a bluetooth mouse/keyboard, but not with sense.

Ah my mistake. I thought he was referring to all these people using usb controllers
Is this possible yet? I noticed super smash brothers runs really good. Want to utilize my wiimote.
I've tried and it doesn't work. It should work with cm7 once it's ported to the 3d. I wish a dev would create a fully functional bluetooth stack for sense like how they have one for jailbroken iphones. I miss being able to use a wiimote with the various emulators.
Does anybody know if the Power A Pro Pack Mini Remote for Wii Black works on the evo or is it just the original Wii controllers. Thinking about getting one off eBay.
Anyone tested this thing out yet, guessing still doesn't work thanks to the Sense BT Stack like on the older phones. Just got the MHL adapter and would love to abuse it with my PS3 controller and some ROMS
Not yet but soon, I hope. Now that we are getting AOSP kernels
