Hi folks,
I am using PAC but my question is related to Halo, which isn't exclusively available on PAC (obviously).
I just want to know if anyone else has had this issue?
I have Set halo up in Whitelist mode and have whitelisted a few apps. I have also added the same apps in the Halo management app. This way I get notifications from and the ability to open any of these apps in multiwindow.
All other apps word fine. If i click the Halo icon to a specific notification, it opens up in a floating multiwindow. Same with if I use the drag right or left function to open an app directly...
Facebook however, when I click the Halo icon to open a notification, it opens full screen. It does open floating using the drag right motion however.
Anyone else had facebook issues with this?

Please let me know if you do. I'm on dirty unicorn on evo lte with same problem. It worked at first. Then it would work after a reboot. Now not at all.
What is the drag left/right thing? I don't know how to do that.

You add apps to it....
Then when you swipe sideways on the halo icon, it scrolls through all the apps you have added. When you come to rest and let go, it opens that app in floating window (as if you'd had a notification)...

See each of the ) ) ) is an app I have added. Above I am swiping right, but resting on the first app (also indicated in status bar). If I let go now, tapatalk opens in a floating window.
I'll update this post if I get an answer.

I'm tried several SGS3 rom: Paranoidandroid3.60, Dova(?), the latest Dirty Unicorn.
For some reason, the filter (blacklist/whitelist) doesn't work.

Whitelist works on PAC. You know you have to tick apps in android settings, apps, app name, whitelist for HALO?

I think there is a general problem with facebook framework/animations. I am no expert in order to describe it accurately. But here's my story:
As I've already posted in the past (I didn't get any answers), i am using a multitasking app to switch between running activities. This app comes with a bult-in transition animation when switching from one app to another. Every single app works perfectly with the animation, except of facebook and skype.
Also, notice that when you long press the home button and the multitasking bar appears if you click to open facebook, the window immediately fills the screen, while the other applications have a little animation effect filling the screen gradually.
Recently, I flashed a rom with halo support and I experience the same issue as you describe. I do not know if the two things are related to each other, but I think that somehow the facebook app has it's own "rules" about animations and fullscreen stuff.

Oh, i forgot to tell you that this happens only when facebook is in the home page (recent stories).
If you open facebook on a profile page or a group etc, then the animations work perfectly.
It is really weird to be honest. But it happens with every single rom that i've tried. So i think it is facebook's problem.
Can anyone verify whether there's a difference in the Facebook halo behavior depending on where you last left Facebook?

Yes, I tried this for white list and the reverse fur blacklist.
Basically, I want to exclude a constant notification from Halo but it didn't work.
Currently using Dirty Unicorn ROM

I've had 24 hours with my new Verizon Note 2 and it's been very frustrating. Coming off the N7000 I figured it would be a breeze to set up, not the case at all. Without getting into exporting and importing, some of the issues I've been having include the following:
K9 will not work with my primary gmail email.
No wifi button in the pull down header.
Screen only 4 icons across.
Text msg icon will not refresh after looking at a text. Have to turn restart the phone for #of messages to disappear.
Google Voice widget only works sporadically. Rarely downloads the audio.
I hope some if not all of these are solvable. But so far I've had not luck...

All those quick buttons on the pull down header and NO wifi.. that's mind boggling to me too. I'm waiting for root and some roms to fix that I guess.
4 Icons across.. I loaded up Nova Launcher. This huge screen has way too much open space stock. With Nova I added another column and row of icons. Looks much better!
I'm having NO issues with the txt message icon refreshing after opening a text. I did notice that my brother's Note 2 (on sprint) has this little bubble that appears on the lock screen above the app message icon.. a small bubble that's pretty clear that has a "1" in it for the new message. I couldn't find that on my phone.
I can't comment on the others.. I only use Gmail and don't use the GV widget.
I've been using Nova Launcher to change my grid and app drawer (decided on 5x6 I think). The same should fix your notification count for unread SMS/emails/calls.
Beautiful Widgets has a toggle widget for a ton of stuff, Wifi included.
I like the native Gmail app. Love the widget.
Not much of a fix for any of your issues, but they're good alternatives until we get rooted/ROMed.

What S-Pen functionality is lost? I've running Nova, and so far I'm able to use the S-Pen in all of the same ways as I can when I'm using the stock launcher.

Page buddy would be one. I like S-pen page buddy popping open upon removing my s pen. makes it convenient for others in my household to pick up and use the Note 2. Headphone page buddy is nice too.

That's not so much S-Pen functionality as it is a function of the stock Touch Whiz launcher on the Note 2. It's similar to losing some of the Touch Whiz widgets when using a third-party launcher. So yeah, by using a third-party launcher you do loose some from functionality from the stock launcher, but you retain full S-Pen functionality.
Personally, I turned Page Buddy off as soon as I received the phone because I found it annoying. But I can see how it would be useful for some people.

Does it work with any accounts? If so and not Gmail it's probably configuration. K9's pretty popular so if all N2's couldn't use it to access Gmail I'd imagine more people would be complaining. You can set up GMail via ActiveSync in the stock e-mail client and get push notifications. Using the stock client also gets you native multiview support.

Try removing the Google Voice app and reinstalling it. Don't know what to tell you about the MMS counter.
I know it's a pain in the ass but you may want to hard reset your device and see if any/all of these issues are present without your apps on it. Not all apps play nice with JB.

The WiFi toggle isn't there on the Verizon version of the Note 2. Instead of the toggle, we get the annoying ongoing notification about WiFi seen in the attached screenshot. Verizon did the same thing with the Galaxy S3.
Is there an app that makes your data connection look like a Wifi connection? (jailbroken iDevices had something called 3G Unrestrictor). That might solve the stupid popup.

That won't get rid of the ongoing notification. When you connect to WiFi, it changes to say that you're connected to WiFi. It stays there regardless. The only way to permanently get rid of it is with root.

Wow. Sorry guys. I just assumed simple stuff would be unmolested from the international version. VZW seems to enjoy adding their special touches to their versions of various devices.

For the wifi notification just longpress it and hit app info. It will take you to android system. Force close it and the wifi notification will be gone until you reboot.

Not sure why I would want to do this? I don't want to get rid of the wifi notification...
As for gmail, my other gmail accounts work with K9. It's just my primary one that doesn't. I deleted it from the gmail app and retried but had no luck...

Just use a home switcher app and switch simultaneously between tw &nova.
I'm gonna try this.
I'm gonna switch my default to tw and delete all screens except 1 of course. But stay on nova. Then when I pull out the s-pen hit home and go straight to the buddy Page.
Either that or create an entire Page in nova with s-pen apps & their corresponding widgets.

How do I enable HALO?
Go into settings. Under Illusion System Settings, select interface. You will find Halo Options. Here you can turn on halo, and tweak the way Halo works.
Where is my Data toggle in the notification pane quick settings panel?
As of right now, the only way to toggle data is through the Data Usage menu in settings. A fix is being worked on for this. I believe the problem exists in quite a few ROMS for the One.
Why isn't my NFC working?
Don't worry, all you need to do is flash the file at the bottom of this post title NFC Fix. This fix was pointed out by @Pony Express.

On the HTC One, the HTC logo is NOT a button. However, in the Illusion ROM (and some other ones), the strip above the logo has been modded to work as a button. Long pressing that stip will give you instant access to Now
Are there any other Bugs I should be aware of?
Not sure if it is mac only, or whether this will occur on PC as well, but if you connect as MTP, mac does not recognize it. ADB and PTP work fine. It is only MTP where this issue occurs. At this point, I feel the issue is with Macs being unable to recognize the MTP protocol. I was able to work it on a PC.

Great rom. I just flashed an hour or 2 ago and I have had no problems. Is it possible to get rid of the background on the halo bubble? Also, it seems like whenever you uninstall an app, a pop-up comes up and says "settings has stopped." the app still uninstalls but just a FYI. Nothing major.

Well, I looked. Like @driodmaster92, I am not really a Dev. I am just learning. I wasn't able to find anything that would explain your issue. Try reflashing, as that is the only thing I can think of to remedy this.

Yeah you can have custom toggles setting>>interface>>notification setting>>quick setting panel>>tiles&layout
And there is a reboot menu you can activate it by going into developer option

Lol its all good. I don't know any android development myself. As I said, it's nothing major. But how do you change the custom background of the halo bubble? I never added anything.

Elemental does not work with this ROM. I tried it and I got a black screen on boot. I am almost sure this is a universal issue, as I did this on an absolutely clean and fresh version of Illusion. Just a friendly warning.
I think this deserves its own thread so more people will be able to get a better view of the Vodafone Kit Kat update which i got today as an OTA ( D80220A DE 16GB ).
1. Auto brightness works perfectly (although it's a bit dark in low light conditions,maybe my eyes have to get used to it)
2. Knock on is instant, works perfectly and it's 100% accurate and successful (led light flashes cyan instead of white)
3. Auto account sync now works perfectly(it used to refresh randomly)
4. Battery life is actually better
5. Some apps run faster and they have the 3 dot option which first appeared on 4.3 I think?
6. Locations services and gps have merged to a single toggle button but you can still switch to different modes. Also more battery efficient.
7. White icons on status bar and transparency for status bar + front touch buttons on apps that support it
8. Updated LG applications
9. On screen phone application added (allows to control phone screen from the computer while on wifi) and preinstalled Google Drive app.
10. Camera photos are saved by default in a "camera" folder instead of the 100LGDSC.Camera(old) contains the old photos in gallery.
11. No knock code and no ART options available.
12. In application settings there is a separate "Disabled" bar next to "All" listing the disabled apps (Which is very convenient)
13. Printing added on general settings
14. 4G works normaly as before
15. The font on some apps is bigger
16. Weather animation now working properly and without lag on the lockscreen
17. Camera autofocus seems to have been improved, especially in video recording
18. No more stuttering on menu animations while something else runs in the background (i.e. When a chat head pops up or the weather widget refreshes)
19. Option in settings for turning on or off the led notification light for downloaded apps
20. Aspect ratio correction was removed from the settings (I can't find it so correct me if i'm wrong)
21. Two new FM radio widgets available

Issues:
1. "com.google.process.gapps has stopped" error showing up after each boot
(Note : Reportedly a hard reset fixes this)
(Note 2 : I confirmed that SwiftKey causes the error and it should be resolved by an app update.

2. The Bluetooth process is running even when off but i don't see high impact on battery life as others mentioned.
Eventually people will report the issue and it will be fixed in a future update.
3. Noise and hissing when playing music with earphones and the stock player.
4. Sometimes,when plugging in the headphones the sound comes only from the the phone speaker and only way to resolve this is by rebooting.
(As for the lower benchmark scores after KitKat i've never tried it and i couldn't care less)

Additional thoughts:
This update is more like an "under the hood" job ! Phone feels smoother and stable overall, many small issues have been sorted and a few details here and there were refined and polished, resulting in a stock Rom the way it should be done. In short words I'm very satisfied.

I'm not sure if this is KK related or it has been there before but when I receive an incoming call while I'm browsing a small window pops up with the caller info and 'answer' and 'reject' buttons so you won't get interrupted by calls if your doing something which is a really nice feature!

1. Not sure if it's a second but doesn't seem to have changed for me
2. It's the same, but I think this is due to the way Windows Explorer handles the photos.

It's faster like 1/4 of a sec than before that's y i didn't use the stock sms app but it's ok now @Cienight Music playback uses less power definitely.That was a major kitkat change and LG applied it well here.I listen to alot of music so I know.
anyone know how to get rid of bluetooth running in background even though its not on?
I found that the rotation on home screen from portrait to landscape is smoother.
No widgets redraw or stutter like on JB.

there was a suggestion to choose only bluetooth from the battery saver items and turn it on immediately but i tried that and it doesnt woek.
Can you try swiping the navigation bar downwards? I saw a video about a KK review on G2 and he can hide / show the nav bar by swiping gesture. Please confirm?
The bluetooth service doesnt seem to run on the Korean version guys.Maybe they fixed it?

I still get that music control.
you can activated it on setting>general>accessory>quickwindow case> tap it ON and then choose "select apps", checklist "music"
You can now double tap on app picker to select app

-the app list needs time to load but you are not showing a loading icon. At first I thought the app was broken, but when I clicked 'launch app' a few seconds later it showed up.
-why are you using gingerbread drop down list?
-if you don't need the v4 support library (which is included automatically) you should remove it and your app size will go down by 200 kb
Looking forward to the shortcut option.

i will rework that soon. as this is just a preview, i didnt focus much on the settings activity yet.

Also why don't you use a preference screen and make each one a list preference? (PS it's now deprecated but works)

I don't know. Check your ROM Settings, since i don't have any haptic feedback on my statusbar.
When I disabled your module, there is no haptic feedback but once enabled the haptic feedback is there. Anyways great job man!

You are right. When i enable haptic feedback in my settings, i also get a vibration on the statusbar.

Did wait for a few seconds? After 10 seconds the list loaded for me. (after the 10 seconds you have to choose a different options for the list to load)
I love your module. It would be super awesome if you could add some in-app action of your own; like scroll to top, page up/down etc.

I'm using m8 ARHD 8.1 and I had to unistall the newest version and install version 1.0 and it was working again for me.
You'll only be missing the ability to turn off haptic feedback for now.

I have uploaded a new version, which should fix this. (Still no haptic feedback-feature for you yet though, sorry. i have to look into it more)
Springboard Settings allows you to customise the home launcher (Springboard), enabling/disabling and rearranging the pages on the screen. This allows you to customise it on the watch, rather than having to use the Amazfit app on your phone, and also allows for the removal of the China-only pages on the PACEfied ROM, without the need for the Chinese Amazfit app. As well as this, you can customise the order as you would in the phone app, and it's also compatible with custom pages

Usage
Simply open the app and scroll through the list. There's switches for each item to enable or disable them, and long pressing an item will allow you to drag it around. Changes are automatically saved and take effect on the launcher immediately, closing the app will show them
Whilst the app tries to get the current order correct, it's sometimes not perfect. Relaunching it or rebooting the watch sometimes helps.
Warning: The state of the sport launcher (usually displayed on the left screen from the clock) can be changed in this app. Whilst it works, and disables the page, it causes glitches and bugs in the launcher if you do. You're welcome to just deal with this if you don't want the sport launcher (called gpx-recorder/SportLauncherView in the app), hence why it's not simply hidden, but it's not recommended

How it works
The launcher saves and reads the layout from two system settings: springboard_widget_order_in and springboard_widget_order_out
springboard_widget_order_in contains the main list, ordering and state for each page - but doesn't always contain all pages (not sure why). Editing this setting is how this app works, and the setting is in JSON form
springboard_widget_order_out contains the full list of pages, but whilst it also contains values for state and order is not used for loading. The app uses this to read any other pages, including custom ones (which I can currently get to show as blank pages with no content - more on that when I get them working)
Great app, even better customisation than the phone app (I turned off sports and put timer in its place).
I do have a minor bug to report though. The app failed to load a list of widgets then crashed the launcher on exit the first 2 times I tried to run it. I think I kind of know why.
Whenever I install a new app on the pace (I use apkinstaller) the widgets all return to their default order. I can fix this by going into the phone app and toggling any widget off then on again (the phone app retains my custom settings).
I get the feeling that the config file for widget order is getting deleted/altered when I install an apk and that's whats causing the problem.
After using the phone app to fix widget order your app works fine, but I can imagine this bug could be a bit of a roadblock for some people.

confirming that it works on Nicola's StratOS 1.0 based on 2.0.7.5 rom - cannot move the activities to the other side of the actual clock, tried to place the weather to the left of the watch, still remains on the right.

Yup it doesn't allow that, appears to be hard coded into the launcher. Shame, because I would have liked the left side of the clock to be an app launcher and the right pages to be normal, so you don't have to scroll all the way to the end to launch an app. A custom app drawer page would make this better, then it could be the first page on the right...

Great! I will do when I'm on my PC, and probably update the app so it shows a message with instructions if it doesn't find the setting. I had that come up once during testing but thought it was caused by the app not saving correctly, but obviously not.

Some android wear launchers have been ported to the pace. I have "Quick Launch" installed. It allows you to pull down and app list by swiping down from the top left corner.
This does a pretty good job of giving you quick access to your apps. But it would be very nice to be able to customise the order of apps in the app list.
I noticed something else that's a little odd. You cant scroll to the left from the "sports" app. So if you move the sports list from the left most position to anywhere else, once you scroll past it you can't scroll back. You can still just hit the home button.

Yes
Would it be possible to put a save/restore option in the springboard app?
This would mean that after doing an initial setup and save, you could use the restore option in springboard to restore your widget layout without needing the phone app.
