Hi,i got unlocked bootloader and how to update to ics using pc companion?
I hear that relock bootloader dosnt work and you cant get official rom after unlock bootloader
wysłane z commodore64
Did you unlock (official way at unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com) or patch (test point method) the bootloader?
Both ways, bootloader can be restored/relocked. I recently relocked mine, getting updates also.

Open the SE Tool and click Restore to relock the bootloader. Then you should be able to get the updates, if you couldn't earlier.
I used flashtool to unlockbootloader ,in the add on menu of flashtool .its work and if want to relock its already file on it.

Dude, I have this overheating issue on my xperia mini, and the bootloader is unlocked. So I gave it in the service center, they said that the motherboard has a problem and they are going to replace it . I lost the DRM keys by unlocking the bootloader-
1. Will I get those DRM keys back once my motherboard is replaced?
2. Will the bootloader status be changed to locked again?

I can't answer that. You will get your answer if you get your phone back.
To previous post - Way too small photo, can't see. Neither can I see that option in Flashtool 0.7.1.0 on my PC.

If you mobile get bricked, lock bootloader again
i was thinking to relock my bootloader. please help me to decide by giving me advantages of locked bootloader or the risk of using unlocked bootloader (or vice versa) thanks.
Locked bootloader doesn't have much advantages other than maybe your warranty will be back but still if you don't want warranty back you shud be stuck with unlocked bootloader.....

DRM keys are lost forever if unlocked by official method. Relocking will not help for officially unlocked bootloader. Do this only if you have to take your phone to Sony. Maybe it is different for testpoint method..

Warranty...... But I doubt you will get full warranty if you obtained the unlock code officially from Sony.. They register the request with your IMEI and void your warranty...But somewhere Sony mentioned to give conditional warranty, provided the device wasnt damaged with any mod you made "frying your processor by overclocking" ...Still its worth relocking if you claim warranty/service.. Apart from that, theres no big deal.

Download music info on unlocked bootloader!! It works, I have tried it. No need to relock bootloader, just download and replace the SemcMetaDataCleanup.apk. Tested with ThilianaC's walkman player. Should obviously work on the walkman players mentioned in the link.
Hi everybody, about a month ago I both sim- and bootloader-unlocked my xperia ray with the omnius-software. Firstly I backed up my TA. Then I unlocked the simlock, which worked. However, I knew that the official sony unlock method would wipe DRM-keys permanently. In this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1754928 I read that using the bootloader-unlock in Omnius "LEAVES ALL DRM UNTOUCHED" (see thread for quote).
However, after I installed a custom rom, trackid (the old version!) doesnt seem to work anymore. To make a long story short:
How can I check if I still have the DRM keys? I can't find that answer anywhere. hope anyone can help.
If unlocked via official method the drm keys deleted

As stated, I used omnius to unlock the bootloader, thus not the official method! However, in the aforementioned thread it is said that omnius (omniuslogs.net) does NOT remove DRM. But how can I be sure the DRM keys are still there? Where are they stored? Is it a string? etc.
Is be working with download music info?

Hello, I want to root my XPERIA Z2 but I have never done this before, so I have some questions.
1) If I flash the Recovery used to root, will the stock ROM be affected?
2) After root, will I continue receiving the official updates? If not, how can I update it manually?
3) Can I save the stock ROM to an image for future unroot? How?
4) What do I will lose with root?
To root your Z2 you need to unlock your bootloader and flash a kernel with recovery included of which within you can flash a root zip
Kernel and system are seperate so your rom wont be affected but they do depend on eachother
Root doesent affect anything at all and neither does unlocking your bootloader, you lose nothing at all
You can backup your rom in cwm and restore later, you can also unroot from within the root management app

1.absolutely nope.
2.yes, if you haven't unlocked bootloader,
But in this case NOPE..
3.just flash ftf ...available in general section..
by flashing it will automatically unroot your device.
4.rules kept on device...[emoji6][emoji6][emoji6]
but if you unlocked bootloader.. then 1.warranty 2.official updates..3. Vulnerability security..

Does rooting screw up DRM keys or whatever like it did on other sony devices in the past?
I am REALLY thinking about this as my next device, and if I can't root without screwing up the device, I'll be put off.
TIA

Think of it like this, your drm keys with Z2 are currently uselss, losing your drm keys breaks nothing, (ive tested this)
(in simple words = almost 0 drawbacks of unlocking your bootloader)
What you should be more worried about is your warrenty/garentee , it is voided when you unlock your bootloader

Unlocking or relocking your bootloader resets your device so you cant realy win
And you cant relock on a custom kernel, it has to be totaly stock

I care more about the DRM keys, only because I assumed they added functionality that woudl be lost wtihout them, as they did in previous Sony devices.
Are you saying that, with the Z2, this is not the case and that the DRM keys don't matter at all?

Seeing issues like is making me want to wait until Sony fixes these issues before I pick one up.
Hey,
I know there are surely many threads about the bootloader but I never had a Sony so I want to now is: I don't lose any features if I unlock my bootloader right? I know I can backup the Trimm Area so I can get the DRM Keys back if I lose them. In a thread I saw that bootloader unlocking even does not erease the DRM Keys on a Z2, is this right? I just want to know if I lose features by unlocking the bootloader and if I keep the DRM Keys on a Z2.
Thanks

Unlocking your bootloader formats the TA partition where your drm keys are kept
You can backup your TA partition and unlock your bootloader
Restore your TA on a STOCK kernel to un-void your warrenty
Restoring your TA will relock your bootloader hence only restore on a stock kernel
You can install a stock kernel by using flashtool >www.flashtool.net< to flash a FTF> there is a thread at the top of the general section
So if I unlock my z2 bootloader I won't lose any feature like X-reality or break the camera Like Z1?
Thx
