Just thought I should mention that the update I have is NOT the 2.1 update.
I want to start from scratch with my xt912. I am currently running the OTA JB update and I wanna know how I can go about unrooting it?
Hi I just checked my software update and it notified that I have new update ANDOIRD 4.0 something running Android KitKat 4.4 and sense 5.5
I downloaded it and when I checked to Install now it rebooted and go straight to Recovery and stop there. I keep trying trying and still same thing. Any help ? I would appreciated.

you can't install OTA Update on a rooted phone with custom recovery
you must have a stock phone with no alterations
So this mornining I received the message to update my phone to KitKat, but when I installed it, nothing happened. Am I stupid for thinking it would update a stock root? I used the chainfire automatic root method. How do I obtain KitKat and root? Thank you in advance guys.
It's best to update via PC and Odin. I doubt they'll have that file ready for a bit though. You probably want to wait anyway since I don't believe there is a root method available yet since it just dropped.
I've got two Virgin Mobile (sprint) L710s running 4.4.2 that I rooted with odin a few months ago. They're both running stock roms, and we keep getting prompted to install a system update. The update fails and the message returns.
I'd like to keep these stock and rooted:
What's the best way to get rid of this system update notification?
Thanks.
