[Q] No external storage available? CM 10.1 - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys, today I flashed CM 10.1 Final Release on my Sprint GS3 and whenever I try to use the camera or gallery, I get a message saying "No external storage available." Any help?

Put your Micro SD in your PC and !back your Micro SD card up!, install Acronis Disk Director and format your Micro SD from exFAT to FAT32.
You will lose all your data on your micro sd card if you format it. Back it up!
CUSTOM ROMS ONLY SUPPORT FAT32.
IT DOESNT SUPPORT exFAT.
 Good luck!
Sincerely,
Rareme.

Also it could be due to a bug in the rom. Try reflashing the rom if the method mentioned by the poster above me doesn't work.

Nah it only happens on CM. It works fine on Touchwiz.

Okay so I tried formatting my SD card to fat32... that didn't work. Tried redownloading and reflashing CM... didn't work either.
It's weird, I get this message whether my SD card is plugged in or not...

I have the exact same problem. Not really sure how to fix it, but I will keep trying. If anyone knows a fix please post it. I will probably have to revert to ODIN stock and reinstall...

My tablet came with one partition out of the box (unlike my sgs2)
Thanks for the reply, I'll flash my tablet a soon as I can (I'm guessing any begin of aio works since intsd is focused on cm and not the device)

make sure it is compatible with ur device. i dont know if it supports other devices. i downloaded AIO toolkit from this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2020737&nocache=1 and i think it is only for LG OPTIMUS 2X. just make sure it is compatible.

SGS2

Same for me on my a510

I can't open gallery and camera on my S7500, it says "no external storage available". I use cm10.1.2-20130703-unofficial-trebon. I already try the tips you guys suggested, but the problems still occur.

Thank you!

Clockwordmod doesnt backup

I know there are many topics about this, but i cant find the answer.
some people say that you have to do a format and other say that I have to install a program to make a backup and copy it directly to my computer.
I forgot to say, if I try to make a back it says: can't make backup path
Does somebody know how to fix this?
I didnt try any of the solution above here.
I dont have an extarnal sd card.
Thanks

Sprint-ROM Manager won't use ext sd card

Has anybody gotten ROM Manager to use the external sd card instead of internal phone storage? My box to use external storage is greyed out and won't let me select it.
Thanks
Kenny,
5.8.4.9 is still having limited issues here, previous version 5.8.4.7 will see both cards. But .9 at least is rom manager ready...hey, I think you told me that!
So it is not possible yet and we are waiting on Rom Manager/CWM to update still?

[Q] Installing custom ROMs

I was able to successfully root my fiance's l769 thanks to user captaincrook's thread about a method brought about by, i believe, user jcase. My question is, will I still have to use the method in d33ps1x's tutorial for using link2sd if i flash a custom rom??
captaincrook - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2338816 this worked amazing for rooting if anyone still needs to root. I used it for a T-mobile and it was super succesful and was rootchecker verified.
d33ps1x - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1432459 i actually used this method and it appeared to work great by partitioning a portion of the external sd to ext2 format. i'm not really sure if i should have used ext2, ex4 or fat32 but i went with ext2 and it seemed to work out alright. i was able to swing something like 40 apps/the data from the apps over without too many problems (the sd card got a little soggy recenty so it's been acting finicky so we removed the partition and reformatted back to a primary fat32.
but...would i still have to use that method if i flashed a custom rom like cm10.1 or miui or aokp?
