I thought I would post this here as its not really phone specific but i have a ZTE (kis lite v790)
I've found ROMs for it but they are from other providers. the signed update.zip checks if your phone is from the right provider and exits if it doesn't match. All the rooting attempts on my phone have failed and if i edit the update.zip\META-INF\com\google\android\updater-script it fails the signature check.
how on earth am i supposed to update my phone?
nobody has any advice?

SO, i followed a guide the other day to get lollipop on my wind huawei mate 2.
but now i want to switch back to the original android that came with the phone because i want to unlock the phone, and the lollipop one on the guide i followed doesnt show the unlock code entry screen when i put in a different sim card.
the issue i am having?
when i flash the stock recovery file that i found on here, that boots fine, then when i try to install B128 wind firmware, it says a bunch of error codes along the size of
oemsbl write failed something or other then it also said update_vendor.app install failed - invalid package
i'm hoping someone can help me because my phone will not go past the huawei logo at this point.
i do have access to fastboot mode though thank god.
if anyone can help me with the proper files to download and such that would be great!

With NO stock backup i doubt it.
Hello, I made the mistake of trying to use a remote unlocking service on eBay to unlock my LS992, but the person performing the operation somehow managed to brick my phone. The device is stuck on download mode, and though he attempted to re-flash the firmware it was unsuccessful. I was on the line with him for several hours with no fix in sight. He claims that the phone was on software version ZVA, but I am unable to confirm that as the phone is bricked, however, when I connect to LGUP it reports the version as LS992V3. I'm not sure if it is correct.
So the bottom line is, I would like to try to reflash the phone for myself, but I am unable to find the .dll files for the Sprint variant anywhere to flash with LG UP. I'm also unsure of what version stock firmware I should flash, as he said that flashing the wrong firmware might hard brick. Any insight on what to do will be greatly appreciated, or at the very the correct .dll file to use when flashing.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Hi Guys and Gals,
Sorry if this is one of hundreds similar questions regarding the S7 FRP but I believe I have exhausted methods listed on advice posts, this is kinda last resort.
Sadly, my Grandfather recently passed away and he left my mum his S7 G930... my mother then had a friend do a factor reset on the phone but was unable to login into the phone once it was reset as it was asking for previous owner. Yep, they didn't remove his account before doing so, nor did they enable USB debug and I am unsure if OEM lock is disabled or enabled.
Following the advice of the post on here labeled: [GUIDE]All-In-One(stock FW/CSC/ROOT/TWRP recovery/FRP unlock/PIT/unbrick/bootloader)
1. [ODIN FAIL] I tried to flash using CF-Auto-Root (cfar_samsung_sm-g930f_heroltexx_nrd90m.g930fxxu1dqg1_t0) but get the issue custom binary is blocked due to FRP lock.
2. [ODIN PASS but...] Then I followed the advice of downloading the stock firmware G930FXXU1DQG1_G930FOXA1DQG1_BTU and flash just the BL (bootloader) and CP (Modem), sadly... after resetting the device it boots up still asking for the previous owner details which obviously we don't have.
3. [ODIN PASS but...] In the same post it says if the above fails simply FULL STOCK flash which using G930FXXU1DQG1_G930FOXA1DQG1_BTU. I select BL, AP, CP and CSC and ODIN passes without fail but rebooting the default it starts to setup the install and applications, then get the Google previous owner message.
4. [Smart Switch FAIL] Reports USB file transfer is not allowed.
I did read somewhere that you can pair a Bluetooth device after hanging up on emergency services, I'd rather not even attempt this method is unethical.
Is this phone a bin job? or is there anything else I can try? would be nice if my Mum could have a upgrade and something that was his.

I have just purchased s9+ I want to create secure folder but it's showing an error saying couldn't create secure folder contact service providers....... and the same issue while using samsung pass it says your phone has been rooted.....
But my phone is not rooted it running official firmware even I have just updated Oct security patch now....... I have checked in download mode for knox wranty void it says (0x0000) plz help me how can I solve this problem :crying:
Plz some one help me
You just purchased the phone? If that is the case simplest solution is see if you can exchange it for a different one (of same model).
Only time I have heard of those errors happening is if the phone has been (or was) rooted/modified. Have you tried to do anything to the phone at all (like trying to install the pie beta before it was a public beta that was on the forum here, or anything else you might have flashed to the phone) or any software modifications/flashing? If you have not then it is very well possible the previous owner may have done so (or at least tried to do).. This is why I suggest you return it for a replacement since you just purchased the phone.
You could try doing a factory data reset or flashing the proper firmware for the phone model/region. Outside of that there isn't anything I myself could suggest, especially if the newly purchased phone is covered by a warranty.
Just as the title states I am hoping someone may be able to offer some assistance on a phone that I hope is not bricked. The short version of the story is I attempted to downgrade from Nougat to Marshmallow because I wasn't having any luck using any of the researched methods for FRP bypass for my VZ S7.
So I followed a few different tube videos and attempted the downgrade. I downloaded the following apps / files:
Odin3-v3.14.4
G930VVRS4APH1_VZW
Launched Odin and inputted the files into the specific slots (AP, BL, CP) and everything appeared to be going well until about 3/4 of the way through it. It failed to update but I forget the exact error message as this was a few weeks ago now but now when you boot the phone it wants you to use the VZ upgrade Assistant Software to help recover or restore the OS or whatever.
Not really sure where to go from here other than having a phone that doesn't work. I thought I did my "homework" and watched enough tutorials where it was going to be a smooth process but I failed. Any assistance anyone can provide at this point would be greatly appreciative and also wanted to mention that I'd definitely be willing to contribute to a Paypal account for assistance with assisting me in resolving this issue.
Thanks!
