I am interested in trying out CM10.1 stable, but want to see if others have some feedback to share with the rest of us.
Some questions :
- Is it really "stable"? Any reboots?
- Any feature not working (bluetooth, tethering, etc...)
- Battery life?
- Compatibility with different custom kernels?
- Any issues with network (LTE/4G)?
Thank you in advance.

Still reboots
I don't use bluetooth nor therering
Only ran it for 24 hrs so I can't help you with battery cause you need to give it about a week or so before you can actually see how battery performs.
I use this kernel with no issues. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2326786
I din't notice any LTE/4G issue
Reboots for me too. Its like twice in past 48 hrs and it was random. Not too bad. A reboot to startup is only about 20 seconds.

Been running it since it dropped. I have had a couple of reboots. I have had some screen flickering. Tethering works. LTE= 28.05Mbps/Down & 12.26Mbps Up in Jackson MS
Out of all the roms I have tried I like it the best so far.

6/26 nightly seems more stable.
The "Enable keys notifications" (also known as BLN) does not work. It worked in 10.0.
On the positive side, they've added this feature called, "Ask for reminder snooze delay" which allows you to set the reminder time to something different than the default 5min (I just noticed this feature; not sure if it's totally brand new). I remember this feature was available on the Palm OS ten years ago and since then I haven't seen it on any mobile OS (not sure if BB had it) until now.

Same here with the reboots. It does get annoying but whatever. I might end up going back to Samsungs JB.
Anyways. Battery isn't so bad either. But I'm on a brand new battery finally after a year with the phone.

You'll get them. Go to YouTube and try watching a video, that's where it usually happens for me on any 4.2.2 Rom.
I'm running FJ's ICS AOSP Rom for the past 7 day with no issues. No reboots no matter what I throw at it.

but as i said on my other post a bit ago, everyones phone is different, and everyones phone use is different so we cant expect everyone to have the same results
this is why having the choice to flash anything and everything you want and finding what works best for you, makes android so desirable
Right on. Yeah when I Need a flash fix I'll consider it

If you dial *6969# naked girls come to where you are..... You need to flash a CUSTOM ROM you're on a stock ICS ROM you need to read a lot more go to the DEV section those are all custom ROMS.... For an instant change go to the play store and install Apex launcher.

If you're on stock ics (the official release) and someone told u there are speed improvements they lied. Any custom rom easily blows stock out of the water. Stock ( even when rooted) is basically for people who want to play it safe and for things to just work. If u want customization and speed ur best bet is an AOSP based rom. Good luck. Happy flashing.

hmm i was specifcally told not to flash AOSP roms . btw do you know if that will improve battery life as well. since i updated to official ICS from kies my battery dies really quick. quick meaning if i sleep with battery around 50-60%, i wake up after 7 or 8 hrs, and my battery is dead. im not sure exactly when it dies, but im pretty sure this is a flaw.

Did you say reliable?
Then forget about both ICS and JB and go with GB. Any variant will do.
ICS/JB ROMs are just too unfinished yet to be a reliable daily driver, IMO. People are woking hard on them though, so there is no doubt they will one day become as reliable as good old GB.
Agreed.

This is a very accurate summary of where we stand. I'm still running Nottachtrix 1.3.1 even though Nottach left the Atrix over a month ago, just because everything works on it. Bluetooth, wifi, HWA, Ubuntop, all cameras, and even a decent selection of themes for both android and linux.
But with the new leak libs, there is sure to be a fantastic CM9/10 ROM that takes advantage of them. We just have to be patient.
Hi
If you're not using thoroughly your phone, the CM10 form Epinter is now reliable enough for a daily use.
I was using CM7 since months, and after trying CM10 last week, i'm still using it and have found no real limitations for a basic usage.
I'd recommend you to keep a GB based rom if you want to have the most reliable system and if video recording is a primary need for you.
Just my $.02: I don't even use the "latest" GB 2.3.7 ROM: I've returned to Neutrino 2.6 EE (the latest is 2.91 at this writing). CM 7.2 RC1 was the most stable + efficient ROM from the CM gurus for my Atrix. I charge my phone once every two or three days too.
Think about driving a car that everyone laughs at that's never needing to go to the shop. Gits ya there, gits ya back, reliably and without anyone really paying attention to it, and it just goes and goes and holds its own against everyone else. Newest doesn't always mean best; trustworthiness does.
Epinter's CM10 worked OK for me despite the few well known bugs.
You might give the brand new AtrICS ROM a shot. It's hard to believe that it could already be as stable as it claims to be, but with working hardware acceleration, it should have some bugs fixed as compared to CM10.

I switched from epinter's CM10 to AtrICS today and found it to be a fairly usable. You trade some features for others.
I prefer the interface of CM10 to AtrICS, but AtrICS feels really snappy thanks to the HWA. I'll probably get used to ICS after a while. The Camera works well, but, like others I noticed that after switching from the back camera to the front, there was some corruption on the right side of the screen. Going into Camera Settings and unchecking then rechecking the Widescreen box fixes this. There are problems with the unlock screen of AtrICS; it can be slow to appear when you press the power button and I have seen the screen turn on for a split second before turning right back off. If you let the phone go into a deep sleep, you may see a black screen for a minute, in my case the unlock screen did eventually appear. I've had one reboot right after closing a bunch of apps running in the background then trying to open a browser.
WiFi works great with AtrICS and mobile data feels faster than I remember.
My mobile gone hot after a few minute use AtrICS, and experienced network lost. The phone also hot with epinter 's version.
Restored TopSmart1.3. GB has the stablity I trust.

Whats the best CM10 JB ROM for the Rezound that is stable, fast and smooth and has very good batter life? Also, what would be a good Kernel to go with that ROM? Right now I'm on a CM9 ROM
Sent from my Rezound using xda app-developers app
They're all roughly equal in most areas. The instability with AOKP is gone in JB, so it's more about what you want out of the ROM. PAC has the most options, vanilla CM10 has the least (though still more than CM9), and AOKP is in the middle. Neo also has his customized versions of CM9 and AOKP if you like his stuff.
Stability wise, JB is overall a tick behind ICS AOSP, but not much (not enough to worry about in my book). I recommend pmem over ION if you are faced with the choice, and if you want to get the smoothest performance, check out one of the custom kernels (I hear Ermahgerd is good ).
I can vouch for Neo's AOSP jb Rom as far as speed and smoothness. Very few bugs at least for me (never use bluetooth) and I personally like snuzzos funky kernel (haven't tried the newer kernels like ermergerd or the oc kernel I have seen in the development section) but I don't think you can go wrong with any of the jb builds out there now because even a completely clean cm10 build without Linaro is pretty quick and definitely a very usable dd.

There's no noise cancelling in our AOSP device code, so what come in the mic goes out of the earpiece. I don't hear it as a echo though. Someone had to point it out to me for me to even notice it, because to me, it sounds just like an old analog landline.

Also the signal issue you are talking about is an issue with all AOSP ROMs. Enable airplane mode, wait a few seconds, and disable airplane mode and then your service should come back.

So what settings do you recommend...I searched the threads but most of the information pertains to Nexus devices

Nice!!
Just flashed the 03 note 2 kernel...and my phone is running a lot smoother. downloaded the app to support this kernel...keep up the great work...tracking down info on this kernel has been well worth it!!
Gonna have to try this when I get home, loved his work on the G2X, the only kernel my phone played nice with.

Big supporter of Faux. Bought the app waaayyy back when it was released, even before the Note 2 was supported and been using the kernel on all my phones every since my first Android (and his too I believe), the MyTouch4g. One of my favorite phones ever btw.
Anyway, stories aside, I finally got this thing to mount an sd card on boot. Had to go back to my 32gb san disk. Guess I'll drop out my 64gb since I swear by Faux's kernels. Every thing is smooth as butter so far. Running ondemand and gonna let this baby settle and see how long the battery can last. I think I saw on Twitter someone said they got 7 hrs screen on time.
Btw, faux... does this support you faux sound yet? If not, will be putting in support for it eventually?
It supports boeffla sound which is pretty good. Bought the all too myself. Best way to donate.

Another smooth, solid ROM for our i717. This is CM11 with lots of options added. This is an official build and is brought to us by the same dev that gave us Valdius.

Hello guys, I'm a newcomer in the Android world and the xda forums, but so far I love it! Just bought a Note SGH-i717 recently, rooted it and now
I'm trying different roms. Now you said this roms has more options, do you mean customization or more apps installed that you can't remove from your phone?
Tried a version of CyanogenMod but it was lacking key features like the camera app crashing whenever I try to film. But maybe I should give this one a try.

It's fun, sometimes frustrating and addictive. Look out! Most ROMs list the status, bugs and fixes in the OP.

Yeah well, even if some people complain about Android being "complicated", well I don't mind having to play around with it a bit to find the best rom for me. I'm studying computer sciences, and I'm so happy to have my first Android device! :cyclops: I've had iPod touch 4th gen before but this thing is getting so laggy...I really don't regret buying my note, and it's so much fun to explore the Android world. I just love all the customization! And I might give this rom a try.

This ROM works perfectly! And you got so many customization options right there without any other launcher! I think I found my favorite ROM! Big thumbs up :good: :good: for the devs!
Was wondering, since the first reason I bought the Note is to draw, I was wondering if there was anything that would allow to set up the S-pen for lefthander. I know there was in the official version of android on this phone. Would there be any way to get this feature or to implement it somehow?
I noticed the cursor is more accurate when I hold it with my right hand though....I'm a lefthander.
Trying the rom out now. Glad to be able to use the CM11 themes. Thanks!
so at first I think "Spirit Rom"!!! really, someone made a cheerleader themed rom, yippee!
so I load it up and see a ghost in the boot.....Ohhhhhh, Spirit Rom.........stooped me
let you know in a bit

i'm also having the same problems other than that i love the rom
I just flashed uber kernel seems more responsive, but will give it a day to see if my wake up problem went away. one thing I ran a benchmark with the stock kernel set to wheatley and it was the lowest I have seen on my note, installed uber still wheatley and way higher.
