Hi, I've flashed Ultima ROM v13 on to my s3 . Everything works good except for a few issues. I've tried searching on the whole forum , but didn't find an answer.
Issue 1 :
Google search app doesn't work. It force closes everytime I try to open it. Cleared cache from apps manager. Still the app just doesn't work.
Issue 2:
The recent missed call doesn't show up in the call logs.
Please help me find answers or fixes for these issues. They are annoying . Except for that , the ROM is awesome !!!

FIX: I installed older version of voicesearch.apk (2.1.1 will attach the apk file for people who have the same problem) thx for the help

I have a SGS I9000 on CyanogenMod 7.1.
when I'm clicking the microphone icon on the google search widget it launch the android market and search for ' pname:com.google.android.com.voicesearch '
it ends up with "No results found.".
I googled it and apparently it a common problem (also at xda fourms)...
I tried to install voicesearch.apk that users upload but all of them are forced close when I click on the microphone symbol...
I dont think I had this problem before installing cm7.1..(Is it cm7.1 issue?)
I really what to get it to work.

I had this problem as well when i downloaded the voice search from the market. I ended up using an older version that I had saved in Titanium backup. It works fine. Must be something with the latest version that isn't getting along with CM7

I already tried 1.3, 1.4 and the latest version doesn't seem to work.
also couldn't find other version on the internet.
hii dude, have you install the google apps after upgrading to CM7 ?
i think you should install gapps. especially for voice search

Skype ca't sign in and a message show about enable video calling after that
another message for close and wait !!
this problem occurred on stock rom xxlpw and the CM9 tablet mode !!
what is the solution please ??

1. did you got a message after installing Skype that it's not compatible for video calls on your device? if so, did you confirm you still want to use it?
2. did you try simplest solution - go to apps menu, clear all Skype data, uninstall and install again?
3. while being on stock FW was your phone rooted? I do not know how about other user but Skype FAQ page says:
"Skype does not support rooting and Skype is not responsible for errors or crashes, which result from modifications to the underlying Android OS."
4. it seems the bug is quite known:

still, in my experience I never had problems with Skype using stock ICS FW, it works perfectly. maybe for some it works for others not... (sorry, I know it's not comforting)

Uninstall skype. Reinstall Skype. Update to the latest version.
It's working fine for me on 4.0.3

I´´m new here, so I do not know if this is the right forum for this:
I have a Discovery V5 with Android 4.0.4 on it, and it´´s rooted. Does anyone know where to get the original ROM or could anyone share it, BECAUSE: I deinstalled the Play-Store. Reinstalling it (and any diferent versions of play store) won´´t work anymore. The app always quits with message (unexpected error occured, etc...) I don´´t love this app so much, but for app-update purposes it´´s neccesary. In other forums the advice is given to re-flash the device with it´´s original rom, but i had not saved the rom before experimenting with the device
any suggestions about that (or any other advice about getting play-store to work again? )

Hi there XDA Developers, I am having Major issues with Cyanogen Mod on my Galaxy Ace GT-S5830i. I can install it absolutely fine, with all apps running fine, except Instagram!! Does anybody know why this might be happening?
When i open up the google play store I search for instagram and I only find the app when i look at the results the are in the suggestions when i search for it and press GO i cant find anything. If i tap on the suggestion link i can view the app page, but I always get "This app is incompatible with your device".
On the stock rom I can instal and use instagram no problemo, but not on most custom roms, especially cyanogen mod. So far the only custom roms i have found the are compatible are MindCR ICS rom and Ace-I-Sure. But I dislike both of them....... xD
Please can somebody help me fix this as I love instagram its the only social network i ever use.. :crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying:
