Well, I installed Xposed onto my Verizon Note 2. It seemed to install but apps won't transfer to the mini menu. Yes, I installed the installer first and the ticked the module. No go.
The Note 2 is rooted but still has a locked bootloader.
Works perfectly on the S4!
Well, can't find the shoot button using multi window with Gallery and Camera. No big though. Love the expanded list o apps that can be used.

Papyrus Beta - Now Works with ICS!!!

I recently came upon a great note taking app called Papyrus Beta. The app developer has now added support for the s-pen on the G-Note. One killer feature is the ability for the app to distinguish between s-pen input and finger input, so you can use the s-pen to write and finger to erase. If you watch the demo video in the Play Store the developer talks about additional functionality that they are hoping to bring to the app in future updates, including other uses for the s-pen button and wireless note syncing.
If you are an obsessive compulsive note taker like me, you should definitely check this app out!
Play Store link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.steadfastinnovation.android.projectpapyrus
Edit: I see that this app has already been mentioned in the N7000 forums. Here's the link to that thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1580716
[UPDATE] The new update to this app brings support for Galaxy Note ICS!! I've only tested it on the Team Perfection's ICS Objection RC3 ROM and it works perfectly; I can't guarantee that it will work for all custom ROMS. Everyone should check out this app.
Looks nice... I can't see it in the market, and on the Web it says not comparable, lol

I'm on stock GB and I was able to install from the web and it shows up in the market. Maybe it's not compatible with the Note on ICS?
I sent an email to the developers to see if it is compatible with ICS.
I'm on gingerbread too running stock saurom and it's still incompatible. Why?! So many apps have been doing this too me.

I just saw in the "What's New" section in the Play Store listing it says "Samsung Galaxy Note Support (Gingerbread)", so it must not be ICS compatible yet. That sucks.
ugh dang why is it not working on mine. i really want to try this app. What rom are you on?
Loaded for me on Seraphim ICS (240 DPI). Active Pen isn't an option on this device, however.

I'm at 240, while stock is 320. If it's not the DPI, it might've been something with the ROM itself, since I'm on Seraphim ICS. Without it recognizing the s-Pen, its useless anyway. It recognizes the s-Pen for selecting things right until you create a new note, then it completely ignores it. There's an option in settings to enable the Active Pen, but it doesn't recognize it as a compatible device for that.
I'm also on Seraphim and I was able to download it. I can't write anything with my finger or s-pen.
Also here is a download link if you still have problems
http://goo.gl/BB6oB
Edit: After a reboot my finger worked but still no pen. They're still in beta, only a matter of time i suppose.
I have an email in to the developer also about stock compatibility. I'll post when I get a response.

Weird, finger works for me for drawing notes. Pen is ignored.
The silly thing is I can use the pen to select all the buttons and options, I just can't use it on the drawing portion of the app. Finger is recognized fine though.

Only 7 apps in multitask bar

I just got my new Verizon GNote2 today on pre-order and I'm loving the fact that the multitask bar has been included however it only has 7 apps for the multi-function and none of which I use daily. I'm hoping to root this phone as soon as there is one available. Also mine came without any headphones. I'm going to request they give me a pair because they do come with the T-Mobile version. Other than that this is a great phone.
I noticed the same thing, in the videos on YouTube there's Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and so much more that has multiwindow support, but I only get a few apps to choose from.

We can only hope the Lord of root feels pity on us soon and gives us a way to root it and a nice rom so we can get it to work like it should not how verizon wants it.:silly:
There is an app in the drawer called multiview control. You should be able to add icons there. I have the att version. Then once you open the multiview tab at the bottom it says edit. You can drag and drop apps into the tab. Not all apps are able to split the screen though. Enjoy. Hope you get root soon

[APP] Multi Window Manager 1.3.1

HIGHLY RECOMMEND WATCHING THE VIDEO TO SEE HOW TO USE THIS
THIS APP REQUIRES JB 4.1.2 & ROOT ACCESS
If you don't want to root, or don't have JB 4.1.2, check out Multi Window Shortcuts
Samsung has added a new multi window feature to a few of their Jelly Bean devices. However...there is only a limited set of apps compatible with this new feature.
Using this Multi Window Manager, you can enable ANY app to take advantage of this awesome new feature.
Compatible with:
Note
Note 2
Note 10.1
GS3
Check out the Pro version for these additional features:
- Create shortcuts on your homescreen to open apps or web bookmarks in windowed mode
- Set custom window sizes for shortcuts
- Open multiple instances of some apps from shortcuts created through the app (This is limited by whether or not a particular app permits multiple instances...I've yet to find an internet browser that allows this, however there are many other useful apps that do allow it)
- Fast reboot...cuts reboot time to less than half that of a normal reboot. Phones (Note, Note 2, GS3) can apply changes with no reboot at all!
- Detect new app installs and either prompt to enable multi window, or enable it automatically.
- Backup and restore your enabled apps list
Big thanks to xperiacle for figuring this out and to thegios for the idea.

Galaxy Note 8 Keyboard on N7100 and N7105: Give it a try...

Hi. This is kinda a double post so moderator if this is violating house rules please delete. I use the T-Mobile variant of the GN2 and found that The Galaxy Note 8 keyboard, which has some nice features including floating, spen writing recognition and split keyboard, works pretty well on it. It is a little on the small side but handy at times. Anyways, I thought I'd bring to the attention of folks over here and learn from your experience so please give it a try and let folks know how it works.
Here is a link to my post concerning the T-mobile GN2. Important original links are included in this post. Credit should go to xpericale and andnote.

Hi. I checked on my Tmobile note 2 and I find the same issue. S Note app crashes. Oddly S Note with samsung floating keyboard works fine on my N7000. I would think it would be the opposite case. One possibility is to try S Note for the Galaxy Note 8. I tried it and it does seem to work but I have not found the optimal dpi. Currently I use dpi 320 and Screen (dp) 800x1280 with no FC.
Here is a link to get the S Note for Galaxy Note 8 plus a treasure trove of other apps to test! Try and let others know your experience.

I have installed this keyboard on my phone along with Snote ported from Note 8 since the original Snote stopped working after installation of this keyboard.

S Note 8 seems to work nicely when setting apps dpi to 213 and screen (dp) to 800x1280 via xposed apps setting module. If you are finding that S Note FCs when starting up, a possible solution: If you have titanium backup, first delete the original S Note via TB. Then flash S Note 8 via recovery. Do a dalvik wipe cache, reboot and change settings as described. This has worked for others as well.
S Note from Note 8 is working fine. Only one issue... The Voice recorder in built into S Note from Note 8 for recording voice in meetings is not working. Tried to use it in various templates, but no success.

It's amazing how once I realize I don't have a feature I find I need it badly!
If you check permissions in the Xposed App Settings module you will see that there are quite a few missing
shared packages including app to record audio and others to integrate S Note 8 better with phone and other applications.
Perhaps if we could flash the S Voice app (among others) for Galaxy Note 8 that would go a long ways. Anyone know where to find this?
Thanks!

Xposed, then MW Apps Manager allows you to add apps to the multi-window list.
Pen Window Manager allows to add apps to pen window list. Pen Window Launcher allows you to open these apps without going through Air Command.
And, Pen Window Launcher coupled with GMD Gesture Control let you open Pen Window without removing SPen. You can draw a box or any custom gesture with finger!

Well I dont own a Note 10.1 (but planning to buy one and hence was going through this thread). However I have done this on my Note 2 that has got note 3 features including Pen Window and it is working like a charm. I am pretty sure it will work on Note 10.1
1) Install Pen Window Launcher (PWL), go to PWL settings, click on "Drawer Icon Action" and select "Show PWL Directly". So we will not have the floating button (and we don't need it)
2) Install GMD, go to "User Gestures" and Record a new gesture (rectangular box will be ideal), Click "Next>Select Action>Application and choose PWL and save.
With this you can launch PWL with finger on top of any app or home screen.
Actually you an have lot of other utilities as well with GMD. Alt+ Tab will be another one of them two switch between two apps (see in screen shot below).
By the way, hope your device is rooted

With the old Note, I would open Kindle and SNote then take notes by circling/copy a passage and dragging it directly on the SNote that is open in split screen.
I haven't rooted, so I haven't tried this method - but in trying this in the default multi window with Chrome and SNote I haven't found that the 2014 is as functional nor as fast as the old SNote but maybe it has something to do with my old one being rooted.
Do you have any experience with this? I'd love to know I could do that on the 2014. It was one of the most functional features I used on the original 10.1.

These links don't work for downloading Xposed. I'd like to give this a try since it seems to be able to modify the multi window app to run any app without having to root the device. Guess I'm out of luck.

Does anyone have the Xposed APK? If so, would you mind posting it? I think I'm going to go ahead and root and install it.
TIA

Then I must be confused between Xposed and the Xposed Framework. The latest version of Xposed can be found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=47991707. This is version 2.4, but then again, maybe it's Xposed or maybe it's Xposed Framework. As you can tell, I'm not very familiar with all of this and am trying to learn all the functionalities of my 7 Android devices.
Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, so here is what I think; To use Xposed, the Framework has to be installed. To install Framework, you need to be rooted.

If you install Xposed and then click install updates within the app it installs the frameworks.
You then need to download Modules (from the Download section within Xposed), install it and enable.as per your requirements.
You need to be rooted for installation.
Trust this helps
